odds that he signs with us....10%?

Who?  Warner? He's pretty ema from my understanding

It appears.  It can't hurt that the individual developing him is Mark Simoneau.

Holy moly Talor Warner got upgraded to a 4star on 24/7

https://247sports.com/player/talor-warner-46083984/

That ranking doesn't surprise me based on the fact he is a mean ass kicker in his junior highlights and then he goes to KSU camp and measures 6'4 265 with what appears to be a tiny waist for a dude 6'4 265.  Then he moves like a LB in his drills.  This mean ass kicker has lots of athleticism and upside.

CK got a Darren Sproles and an Aaron Lockett in his first recruiting class?  :horrorsurprise:

I know.  It’s the stuff of greatness.

Mozee and Duece are different types of players.

If you need comparisons:

Deuce is more like Sproles (crazy lateral elusiveness and jump cut ability)

Mozee is more like Aaron Lockett.  Terrific burst and straight line speed.  Mozee is a 10.5 100 meter sprinter and just finished 2nd yesterday in MO’s largest classification in the 100.  He beat OU corner commit Dontae Manning in that race.  Manning can fly.

Deuce is more of a RB.  Mozee is more of a slot receiver IMO.  They are only similar based on their height

what's up y'all.  Here to talk 'cruitin.

William Jones is super fast.  As in he's run a faster 200 meters than any Kansas high school boy in the last 40 years.  A 21.18 legit 200.  Crazy speed.  He also sports a 40-plus vertical.  His game highlights pause and insert the word "stylin'" before or after he makes a play.

Keenan Garber is big time.  A legit athlete.  He will be salty in the open field.  He's got better 40 yard, broad jump, and vertical numbers than a lot of receivers at the NFL combine.  And he can break on a dime.

That video of Taylor Poitier is special.  What's not is his bulk.  But if he gets to the 290-300 range he could be a beast.  Mean, nasty and moves extremely well.  Exceptional feet.

I don't think I'm HFBIQ but I will oblige for entertainment purposes only.

Vandy offense:  they have struggled to run the ball the first two games and no idea how generic they have been in the run game since they didn't need to depend on it to beat the first two opponents.  They don't have dangerous players on the edge but their QB is poised, smart and will take what we give him.

Vandy defense:  a very solid unit with a great deal of experience.  They don't have athletes on that side of the ball like the premiere SEC teams but as a unit they are stubborn and smart.

We will win but I don't anticipate it being a blowout.  If it is then we are REALLY good.  I think it will be more like a 31-20 / 34-21 type game where the Cats take on a TD fairly late to salt it away.  I just can't see their offense outscoring ours in this one.

Personally, I'm a little surprised that goolsby is starting as the other safety. A lot of the talk that I heard indicated that it was more between Walker and McPhereson.

Personally, I'm a little surprised that a KSU fan is a little surprised by a Snyder depth chart.

Finally, Chabastin Taylor measured 6'4 223  :emawkid:  that size to go along with his speed = dreamboat

Hatter, would it be too early to compare Chabastin Taylor to Josh Gordon? (minus the marijuana addiction)

Pretty much.  Between Chabastin and Strickland I don't know which would be Randy Moss and the other Josh Gordon.

I love Trussell.  His get off is extremely fast.  This dude will be a 6'3 250 lb speed rusher in college.  I found this write up about him from summer 2016 TCU camp.  I guess since he is white I will compare him to Ryan Kerrigan  :Woot:

Spencer Trussell DE | Arlington Martin (2018)
Of the defensive lineman, Trussell was the most agile. The rising defensive end was the fastest defensive linemen in attendance; running a 4.62 in the forty. It was easy to see early on as the defensive linemen went through various drills that Trussell’s first step was unmatched. It was really unmatched when one-on-one’s began as Trussell dominated several offensive linemen on his way to the quarterback. He needs to add some weight, but he’s still got two years to do so.

The new roster came out with listed weights.  This is the biggest KSU has been on offense.  We are going to pound the ball relentlessly.  Look at the bulk of these men.

OG - Beachem 320, Matthews 321, Mitchell 307, *Adler 314, *Rivas 356

*added Rivas and Adler to this group of interior lineman because these two freshman are more talented than the interior OL vets listed.  I would not be surprised if either eventually plays.

TE - Valentine 270, Gammon 267, Lenners 254

Run the ball. The TEs are huge.

RB - Barnes 227, McCoy 233, Burns 215

Good lord.  Burns has some junk coming and he was a state sprint champ.

Finally, Chabastin Taylor measured 6'4 223  :emawkid:  that size to go along with his speed = dreamboat

This will be a distraction for the team, and will not be good.

For the record, we are all human beings, we all have a sexuality. Some express that sexuality in a heterosexual manner, some in a homosexual manner, and others either can't make up their mind or bounce back-and-forth during their lives. It is what it is.

That obvious point being established, his doing this gives the ESPN-SJW's of the media world a reason to pay attention to Kansas State, and not in a good way. Now, we're going to be flooded with a focus all season long on all the ESPN/SJW-perceived social inequalities that need to be "corrected" in "backwards-Manhattan Kansas" as they see it.

I hope I'm wrong, for Snyder and this teams' sake, but MU and Columbia's problems all started when Sam came-out.

How would this be a distraction for the team?  The teams knew about this LAST season.  How is this a distraction?  Because he told the rest of us and some people might ask some questions?  Newsflash:  there have always been gay players on every football team, your fraternity, sorority, at work, all around you.  Now that a few more are known to be gay isn't a distraction.  The cool thing is that this is no big deal whatsoever for this generation.  That is what makes it such a cool generation.

was our offense any good last year?
ford keys to the thread-
-ranked 83rd nationally :Yuck:
-5.74 ypp  :blank:
-388.3 ypg
-49 offensive td's  :frown:

i guess if the 2nd half of the Missouri St game doesn't get cancelled maybe we score a couple more td's?

how do we get better this year (significantly)?

Don't know who Ford is nor do I care.  The only stat that really matters in offensive production is points per drive.  Some of these spread offenses are super cool and sexy throwing 100 passes a game and winning foot races between the 20s....but all that matters - efficiency.

Yes, this will be a demon of an offense.  It was the final 6 games of the season last year.  And we're adding a few new shiny toys of delicious playmaking.

Very generous, however, I'm going to take Ian Rudzik on offense or AJ Parker on defense.

I will claim who I want.

Having cleared that up, AJ Parker is a sneaky good pick by Huge.  I think he is going to be a really good player.

1st Commit for 2018: Jayen Pickle of Cimarron
What position and is he any good?  Film?

It's always a good commit when you get a kid who will be 6'5 290 running a 4.8 in a few yrs.  I was sold with the first play on the highlight video when he intercepted the pass just as it leaves the QB's hand and takes 30 yards for the score.  A very athletic play for a player that size.  His film isn't anything special but the size and ability are no-brainer in terms of whether to offer.  You can never have enough big athletes.

He is probably going to need his own thread.  Qualified for Texas state meet in 4x200 relay and he also qualified for his regional final in the 100 (that would make him top 32 100 meter sprinters out of 200 4A schools in Texas) and he looks like this.

Kansas State Football / Ian Boyd's take on KSU's 2017 class (nice read)
« on: February 07, 2017, 01:13:31 PM »
http://sportstreatise.com/2017/02/breaking-down-kansas-states-2017-recruiting-class/

Fun read on his thoughts and how they fit into the program.  He had some interesting ideas for different positions than what they were recruited to play per the official site.

Glad I read this as I didn't recall liking Kuduk as much as Boyd does.  I had not seen Kuduk's senior film (just jr yr video back when he committed).  Damn, Kuduk has outstanding feet, solid quicks, good flexibility and pad level.  I can see why he loved him.  He looks like a 3-yr starter.

A few nuggets:

loves Wheeler (thinks he is a steal to get as a grey)
loves E. Walker
thinks KSU might use X. Davis as a TE, Misko as a DE, Owens as a wide receiver.
Absolutely loves Patton as the guy to replace Lee
says Chabastin is a monster
creates a nickname for Strickland, "Strychnine" (because KSU now has two receivers - Pringle being the other - that opponents will have to double)

seems like better than usual.  reserving my opinion until i see what manhatter has to say.  he's the only k-state recruiting expert i put any faith in.
He really liked Burton tho :frown:

It appears Wacky found the needle in my haystack.

U also thought Matt boss would be the best offensive lineman in college football

Who is the TE commit?
http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1359425/trace-kochevar

This kid will be a player. I really like him. If he remains at TE he's a better athlete than Mastrud - stronger and more physical at that age. If it's as a tackle he is a better athlete than Stringer.

Watch his film. Great pad level and foot movement on contact. Strong for a wiry kid, physical. Fluid. He is GOOD!!

Loudermilk has us an oklahoma state in the top 2.

welp. i know how this story ends.

How does it end?  Won plenty of battles vs OSU the past few years.  The three from Blue Springs, Iowa Western DE, Goolsby, Mill Valley OL are the ones that come to mind right away

now subtract out all the ones that weren't already committed to us for multiple months prior to getting their OSU offer.

aahh, so there is a caveat now.  so we can't win these battles but we can if we have them committed already?  huh?  that didn't work for the texas db last year.

it's black and white.  we offered, they offered and we do win some battles.  FYI, the Iowa Western DE wasn't committed to us long before OSU offered.

Only a tool buys everything steffy is saying.

But only a tool totally discounts what steffy is saying.

Every kid is different and nobody here has any idea what he is thinking or what/who will significantly factor in Kelly's decision.

I think K-State has a pretty good shot here.

list the players who signed with us after receiving offers from 'Bama and FSU.  after you've compiled this list (won't take you long, I promise), come back on here and say "K-State has a pretty good shot here."

I really don't care how many players/who they were/or how many.  Each prospect is different and chooses a school based on their own preferences.  True, those programs win more battles.  I get it.  But that doesn't apply to every recruit.  K-State coaches realize they will lose most of the battles for prospects against those schools mentioned, but not every battle.
