I only know one person that has that many texts piled up and he's a bookie. So, Jeff ... what are you doing for work these days?

rob if you made roid face gains I can certainly see where rake is coming from here though

Living in Miami shamed me into dropping a bunch of weight. I was literally the fattest person here.

Hey fuckhead, I'm in decent shape now. It's been years since you last saw me and now i'm gonna send you a shirtless mirror selfie.

Still not jacked like him, tho, so your post remains accurate.

K-State fans sends fat-shaming tweet to heel wrestler Kevin Owens. Owens goes through his photos and heels off. <all the heart emojis>

By the way, I recommend Owens' feed. He's so great. People tweet him saying things like "My kid is a huge fan, man." He responds with stuff like, "That's great. tell him I blocked his loser dad."

He is a top-10 Twitter feed. Perfect bad guy wrestler.

i think it's okay to root for a team of the place you live if you're a transplant.  especially if the place you moved from doesn't have a team in that particular league.

Let me get a ruling on this:

I've never really been a hockey fan. Never had a team or anything like that, but the sport looks rad. All my other sports allegiances were formed as a New York resident (Knicks, Mets). Now I sorta want to get into hockey, but it seems silly to root for the Islanders just because I'm from there. Especially when my current city has a team of its own. Can I take up Florida Panthers fandom as a transplant this late in life?

I can see both sides here.

I'm so intimidated by the length of the "how many credit cards do you have" thread.

I've come so close to clicking it so many times, mostly because I  get the feeling it totally derailed somewhere along the way but I'm afraid I won't be able to track it. I don't want to dedicate the time I suspect will be needed to fully appreciate it.

We are off to a roaring start here.

Just catching up via DVR and ....

Tyler Breeze debuted on the main roster Thursday!!?!?

I'm so happy. Long live Prince Pretty. A little miffed they debuted him on Smackdown, though. Seems disrespectful.

You guys ever watch legends of wrestling on the Network?

It's exactly the show SD is describing. It's guys sitting around a wooden table smoking cigars and telling IRL stories. They were filmed in the late 90s, it seems but there's some pretty cool stuff. I think there are, like, eight episodes.

Some GREAT IRL stories on the Stone Cold Podcast episode with the Jake the Snake interview.

Best one is Austin asking Jake about the first time he ever "bladed" ---- (For you LWIQ people, "blading" is wrestler-speak for cutting yourself with a razor blade during a match)

Anyway ... Austin asks this questions expecting some wrestling story.

Roberts proceeds to tell Austin the first time he ever bladed was not in a match at all, but when he was out late having sex in a car with some wrestling groupie. He knew he had nothing to tell his wife at the time about where he'd been, so Jake decides to try blading. He slices his forehead open multiple time with a razor, goes home and tells her he'd been jumped.

Austin is just silent. He has absolutely no response. It's amazing.

When I first saw these threads on goEMAW.blog, my belief in humanity dropped a little bit. But since Chingon allowed IPs to be visible to all users, I was happy to find out that there is not a large portion of people who actually watch this god-awful reality TV show, and that there are not lot of people who continually mistake a completely scripted soap opera as an actual sport.

The IP-viewing ability has restored my faith in those faithful to real sports, and subsequently restored my faith in goEMAW.

To those who unironically post in this thread as a handcuff to actually taking about this "show" seriously, please move out of your parents' houses and find a job. Be productive in society. You're not going to be able to act like you're 13 very much longer. Soon you're going to have to start a 401K, get your own medical insurance, and generally be useful within the confines of federal economic systems, or your life will turn to shambles faster than you can see it coming.

This is nothing more than a public service announcement. Please be smart about your future.

Sweet. So who do you have in Lesner-Taker III?

What's the backstory on the curb stomp here fellas?
It was this guy Seth Rollins's devastating finishing move where a guy would be on all fours and Seth would jump on the back of his head and smash the guy's face into the mat.  It looked really cool.

Then he abruptly stopped using it for reasons that were never explained.
It vanished around the same time that the WWE was coming under fire for mistreating concussions.

People were making accusations that they were being forced to compete through injuries (including concussions). I read on some dorky-ass wrestling blog that they got rid of it because it didn't look good to have the champ stomping heads while this concussion conversation was happening.

Could be BS. Who knows?

Do you live in the deep south now?

Something like that. Miami. I guess that's not technically "The South"

Maybe it's just my neighborhood. But, man, everyone wants to fight over moving screens or whether or not a dude traveled.

So I recently moved and have a new gym. Nice place and all. No real complaints aside from the fact that nearly every pickup game turns into a fight or near fight. It's brutal. It's almost to the point that I hate playing there because I know two dudes will either fight or come close to fighting.

Yesterday, a grown man told another grown man that he would "bust out all of his teeth until you have to eat nothing but soup, bitch"

This isn't once or twice a week. There's an incident almost every day.

Have you guys ever heard of Reiki? It's a scam, right?

I know a guy who does this...he's also a Jedi.  :dunno:

My friend's wife does this. It is totally insane. I think a few people actually pay her to do it, too. I urge anyone unfamiliar to google it and watch a video of a session.

The fact that anyone in the year 2015 thinks this might be productive blows my mind.
i went and had drinks with a girl who just moved back home from dc. She had a bad break up like a year earlier, and swore some woman she knew(possibly the same woman) cured her depression with reiki.  Then she got pretty pak'd and seemed sad again.  Whatever works lady.

She told you that her friend cured her depression by plucking bad vibes out of her aura with her hands? You didn't stand up and leave? I'm going to assume that this woman was unstoppably pretty and unstoppably funny/interesting.

he's a monster Rob.  i love him and really wish he would've won at WM.  i wonder if he's going to stick to the Drago impersonation forever.

has he ever fought ryback?

I don't believe so. That would be a fun feud. Ryback and Rusev are what they want Big Show and Kane to be.

Seems like they are going to turn Lana and Rusev against each other. Would be great if Lana left Rusev for Ryback and starting cutting promos about how Rusev was never big enough to satisfy her or whatever.

Seriously. Take a look around Twitter. All of them are busting out the ! in nearly every tweet. This extends to emails and texts as well.

I'm really coming around on them. Our bud Wacky was ahead of the game on this!
Yes! They feel so gooooood!!!

No matter how much you guys start to love exclamation points, you will never love them as much as football coaches. Most of them are nearly incapable of typing a sentence without one.

I feel that Neville and Stardust should be a tag team. They could both wear their purple outfits.  :lynchmob:

Why did they take away Nevile's first name when he made the main roster? They did the same thing to (Alexander) Rusev. Also looks like Charlotte Flair is going to get the same treatment. She's going by "Charlotte". I'm pretty indifferent on this, but it seems to be a trend.

Also, we can use this pivot point to transition this thread into the Rusev appreciation thread if we want. Love that guy.

We need a bbq spot for Saturday lunch before I get out of here.  Booze required.  The best I can think of is the patio at 2 brothers near College Hill.

Didn't they recently open an independently owned barbecue joint somewhere near old town? I've not been, but I've seen people talking about it on social media. All I know is that it's one of those places with a gimmick bloody mary that comes with brisket or ribs as garnish.

But if we're nitpicking ...

What the hell are they doing with Bo Dallas? They hold him off TV forever just to throw him into a battle royal without a storyline or any sort of announcement? The guy's gimmick was gold. Now it seems like he's going to be another jobber.

Also, I'm worried about what may become of my guy Bad New Barrett now. Seems like the crowd has cooled on him for whatever reason.

A really fantastic effort from WWE last night. I was a little worried about the show because the build was sorta slow, but it was a solid 8.5 out of 10. I would recommend to a friend. Everything (minus the pre show battle royal) was done well.

Pretty jazzed for Rollins' title reign. He's an absolute Zeus.

I wonder if we'll get the Undertaker on raw tonight. I'm guessing yes. Great time to be a wrestling fan.

I listen to the podcasts mostly. I really enjoy "Pop Culture Happy Hour." Linda Holmes and Glen Weldon are delightful. Steven Thompson is great, too.

I highly recommend it.
