feels like we should have more than 17 points. We've been not bad on offense, but obviously I don't pay close attention.

Rattler is going to have a coming out game next week just like Spencer did tonight. He'll have 5 TDs only because they take the foot off the gas and the backs will run for 2 more. Not even saying our D is terrible, it's just how the rough ridin' stars align for our beloved Cats. And really, how much better is a 80% Skyler than what we saw tonight from Howard and Lewis? Take away the Special Teams score and we put up 10 points on offense to OSU. Just hope Skyler is good to go next week but I can't help but think he's a bit rushed and won't be 100%.

Kansas State Football / Re: Stanford game streams

Anybody know where I can stream the 4 hours of pregame stuff? Used to be I could get the first 2 hours of KMAN stuff off their website then had to switch to kstatesports.com for the last 2 hours, but last week KMAN was not streaming their content and I couldn't get anything from K-State either. I'm installing a bunch of shoe molding this afternoon and hope to have it on in the background.

Yeah, I hope YTTV doesn't get involved. I've seen our sub rate go from $45 a month to $65. Still cheaper than cable/Dish, but it's been a steady increase already. I mean, $100-120 bills is what got me to drop traditional TV in the first place. I guess it's not the dollar amount that sucked, just that I had no choice of what I paid for. I would gladly pay another $20 bucks a month if I knew i could get mostly Big12 games and could shaft the $EC, ACC, etc.

I had no idea Cinci was a top 10 caliber team?

The "The Lawrence/KC Area" tweet is going to be a top 15 thing to have happened during Cigars II.
We have no choice but to respond with a “Manhattan Metroplex” tweet including Lawrence/Topeka/KC/Wichita.

Don't forget the Ogden, Junction City, Alma, Wamego and Olsburg Power 5

well this thread now grows by like 4 pages a day, so I can't keep up. It was new to me!

I didn't go to any games there, but I remember that's where I stood in line for my freshman enrollment/financial aid paperwork stuff. 1994 I think? I think Asbury was coach so I know we sucked anyway.

Just heard the audio of oscar talking about the bus not starting and having to walk to the game. This feels a lot like Wooldridge's neck brace days before he was fired, guys.

Congrats #blueanon nation.

You're going to start seeing a reduction in positive cases, because almost right on cue the WHO has issued guidance on Ct.   Soon to come to the U.S. if not already here.

Instead of Ct values of 37-40 in PCR testing, we'll see Ct values of 30 . . . tops.   Thus reducing the amplification of already low viral loads that in the vast majority of cases are both asymptomatic and non-infectious.

Cases are most certainly going to drop simply by this measure alone.   How appropriately timed . . . should have bet on it.

There's only one state that requires Ct value reporting, Florida.

As someone who designs and does qPCR assays all the time - anything that comes up after cycle 30-32 is pretty much trash (spurious products, primer dimers, etc.). Reducing your cycles by 10 will save you ~15 mins per run and allow you to process more samples a day. Good, common sense molecular biology - especially for any diagnostics lab.

Yes. So the US using a 40-cycle PCR for the last 10 months or so seems like a poor choice then.

Another science nerd here so I'll also chime in. Look at nearly any qPCR experiment and you'll see you always run them for at least 40 cycles. It's where the signal crosses a set threshold that gives you a Ct value. And that part is a bit fuzzy too since depending where you set your threshold point, you can swing that Ct value at least 3-5 cycles.

it was on fox sports kc and midwest too

love the 5:30 start

I actually was looking for this and failed to check the obvious.  ESPN just said no TV and they list beyond their networks.

FSKC is basically No TV unless you're outside the Metro area it seems. Might as well put it back on K-STATE HD or whatever and charge $5 or $10 for access. They'd probably have more eyeballs on the games.

We have the rabid Willie that's on the stand next to the tree. I'm assuming you have it there because it's like a thousand pounds and way too heavy for the tree. We have a fake tree and we just hook it on the branch then rest the bottom on another branch.

That's exactly right! I took it out of the box and it felt like it was made of solid granite.
