First marathon last weekend. Kicked my ass but I got it done.
Copper Bowl you bastard i can't believe you hid those amazing scotland photos in this thread
I think I'm finally ready to try to improve my speed, rather than just run amillionbillion miles. Anyone have any good links/plans to improve speed? Will probably run another marathon in January 2019.
"K-State" is a register trademark of Kansas State University.
"KSU" is a registered of Kent State University. Kansas State is allowed to use "KSU" because they can prove use of the mark prior to the trademark registration.
Gearing up for first marathon this fall. Sticking to the Higdon Novice 1 plan. In reality I'm probably a bit more advanced than that, but the last 10 weeks of Novice 2 just looks like too much wear and tear on my body. I hurt myself trying to ratchet up too fast last year and had to scrub the training.
The running is definitely helping me with my super weightloss challenge. I've dropped from 206 to 193 in 16 days. Goal is to hit 185 by Day 30. In addition to the Higdon runs, which I do early in the morning, I'm also running 20 minutes on the treadmill at a rolling incline most evenings. Gets a nice burn going right before bed.
Did a 4 mile trail race last month. 5200 vert. Love me some mountains!
5200 feet in 4 miles? That's steep. I would definitely be power hiking not running that.
Yes, This Is the Place! Nice work this week. Where do you run to get the vert?
4 runs, 41 miles, 7400 ft vert all on trails this week
I'm ready for this beast, I think

This is a hill I'm willing to die on.raw white onions?
Phil, this is a bad look
Anyone been to Louisville? Have always heard good things, will probably only be there for a day.For a one day trip, I recommend Churchill Downs Musuem and Slugger Museum. Booze in the Urban Bourbon tour. Good food near 4th Street Live (our P&L) as well as Baxter Avenue and Frankfort Ave. All have good beer choices. Wacky enjoyed drinking in the old church on Baxter.
I ran a marathon a little while ago. Didn't go as fast as I would have liked, but I knew I wouldn't meet my goal time if it was hot outside. It was low 70s and full sun on race day, which was no bueno. May post a full Peggy Po/Nancy Neg breakdown at some point if I have time.
Will probably focus on speeding up my 10k time and settle in for a lot of 10Ks and a few half marathons. Don't really have the time or husband/dad capital to run another marathon for a while (maybe ever).
I'd eventually like to tri (get it???) an Olympic-distance triathlon. Any Cat fans out there who have completed triathlons before?
