Kansas State Football / Re: LHC Bill Snyder saved Kansas State University

Oklahoma has 4 million people and supports 2 thriving football teams with talent from all over the country you dipshit.

4 million people and 30, 3 star or higher prospects in 2017 with over 40 recruits that will sign D1 scholarships......dipshit.

This group is thicker than i thought.
Location and population mean jack crap when it comes to recruiting. A successful coach who wins games and has a bit of charisma can make a program thrive anywhere in the US of A, and recruit top tier talent while doing so. If it were all about location and population, New York, Florida, Illinois, and California would have the most successful college football programs in the country year in and year out. Clearly this is not the case.

So the way Venzy tends to reiterate the whole "I'm happy as a Coordinator, not wanting the responsibility of a head coach" spiel, and lets say he actually means what he says, there's only one realistic scenario of Brent coming home. Dabo is clearly the heir apparent to take over at bama when Saban calls it a career and runs for governor of Alabama. Brent doesn't have the clout to be promoted to HC at Clemson. So theoretically I think the only thing that makes him pack up and come back to the sunflower state is if bama hires somebody Brent can't stand working with/for. If/when this happens, Brent could be courted by our next AD five years down the road, after Sean has a wildly mediocre five year run, and Bill dies. That being said, there would be a very good chance Brent would follow Dabo to bama. Regardless, until he actually says he wants to coach here, none of us should be holding out any hope...

Don't really understand all the Ertz bashing. Dude's clearly one of the better parts of our team and he'll probably lead us to 10-11 wins next year. I mean, it's not like we've ever been a pass heavy team under Snyder and the only pass heavy QB we've had recently (Waters) was almost unanimously hated on here as well.  :dunno:

What more could you ask for? http://rubbingtherock.com/2016/10/18/brent-venables-head-coaching-vacancies/. If nothing else, Brent's ability to develop players will ensure our NFL draft streak doesn't come to an end for the next quarter century...

Guys, if the big xii exploads we'll end up in a p4 conference. There's no doubt about it. It's stupid to pretend we'd be left out. Nobody believes that.

We will find a spot.  I absolutely agree.
Big 10 or bust!!

If OU cans Bobby this offseason (which seems more likely with every passing week). Who would be better for KSU? Bobby or Venzy?

Venzy and Underwood are both no-brainer hires where Currie doesn't even have to feel backlash if they both ended up sucking.  He's going to end up screwing up both hires though, I have 0 confidence he hires anything other than a fired dipcrap football coach

Man, if oscar fails super hard this year and Bill retires, how excited would I get if Venzy and Underwood both got picked up this year?

It would almost be as exciting as a Titletown.

This is the stuff dreams are made of... I would completely change my opinion on John Currie if this improbable scenario ever occured.

Venzy's laser like focus on the sideline makes me yearn for his leadership in BSFS

The only thing going for us is this crap conference we're in. Our defense will win us a couple more games hopefully. God I hope Bill calls it a career after this abysmal season. I've nearly forgotten what it's like to have a positive outlook for an upcoming season..

So how many millions do the UT donors put up to offer Herman the head coaching job?

I have a terrible suspicion that after Bill retires Venzy will show some serious interest, and Currie will ignore him to hire Matt Wells. He'll consider it a real "home run" hire...

ya i don't like the oversized logo thing
The oversized logo is vastly overused by the whole 6 alternate uniforms a season gang (Ok state, TCU, KU, WVU, BU, etc).

WVU hasn't done an enlarged logo at any point...
You're right Cdub, I was simply lumping WVU in with the 6 alternate unis a year gang. I don't believe baylor has used an oversized logo either.

Notre Dame hasn't been relevant in the lifetime of most of the readers on this blogsite and gets #2.  And, Boise State??
They went to the national championship several years ago...

They were also (essentially) guaranteed a BCS invitation if the went 9-3 or better. Definitely helped inflate their status during the late 90s/early 00s when they were very clearly in decline.
And they looked like they had no business being there.
They haven't had a worthwhile coach since Lou...

I'd say A&M, Utah, and Missouri are the real winners out of this whole thing. I know Missouri is trash now, but they played for two conference titles. WOW!

well, Mizzou moved to an easier conference schedule than they had previously. Utah is obviously the massive winner.

Good for Mizzou
The vast majority of hardcore Mizzou fans I know yearn to return to the Big 12. They miss away games in the midwest and they have nothing that even comes close to their rivalry with the squawks in the SEC.

I manage to snag tickets in a different section each year and the last 4 years have been very fun seeing all the changes to the stadium from different angles. I was in the North end last weekend for the first time in about 6 years and it was pretty amazing seeing the changes to the entire stadium from then to now.

I could see Les going to Kentucky just for the chance to stomp LSU/Bama in the SEC championship every year. Plus, he seems to fit in that conference very well. LSU has to go for Herman, slight chance of swooping Kiffin out from under Saban.

I was impressed with the cinci crowd and stadium on tv last night tbh

If the schools we add are the ones that will make ou and ut stick around then it does not matter who they are. I would love to see some kind of alignment with the PAC 12 in the long run as well

Attendance at the Houston/Cincy game was 40,015, FWIW.  I thought it looked bigger than that on TV.
That was an entertaining game to watch. We could definitely do worse than Cinci and UH for conference additions.
