Bigger man oscar falls on his sword.

Eerily similar to his comments after the loss at Purdue his final year at IL.  Says it’s “his fault” then proceeds to give a bunch of reasons why it really wasn’t (players not doing what he told them).  Classic oscar.

2
of course he lives in iowa.

And he graduated from....KU?

3
So, in the final analysis, does anyone know specifically who pDave is? And does anybody care?

Do you start with less points if you inherit a really good team?  Or is that too unfair?

According to my math...I think it looks like we fired oscar in the appropriate year.  He would have been sitting at -1 in 2012.  Though I think he should have started with a shorter rope since he inherited a top 10 team.

5
CLAIM- Players that care more about their name on the front of the jersey than the back of the jersey will not bail in tough situations
EVIDENCE- ??? Probably not Marcus Foster hitting last second shots to beat OU twice.
CONCLUSION- KSU should recruit people that want to be here similar to players in the Valley.  They work hard because they are out to prove themselves and Marcus Foster has "people" that are a bad influence on him.

oscar LOVES the old "outside influences" excuse when it comes to problems with player relations. He's used it over and over as a way to excuse himself from any blame.

The big issue for me is constantly coming out to the media and whining about it. Take ownership oscar, because ultimately its still your problem because this is your team. Your excuses only tick me off, and I'm one of your most patient fans. Otherwise just stop talking to the media because your act is getting old.

this x a million.  as a drove to work today, i was more mad at him blaming the team that he recruited for not wanting to play at k-state, than i was at our loss.

we need to keep a running tab on his excuses, our past two loses-

2/11/15 @ WVU it was the officials
2/18/15 @ TCU  the players don't want to play at k-state

i can't remember exactly when he threw nino under the bus

3:30:08  Hang in there for about a minute before it really pops off.

Is there a post game call-in show on any of your local radio stations?

8
Did they show a graphic that WVU is a projected 6 seed?  I don't see how that is possible. They blow.

9
We're gonna win.

I think so too honestly. WVU is.....not good.

PulitzerDave and learnin think oscar should get at least 5 years.  I'm curious about what you all think about that thought as well as those two guys in general.

11
Quote from Weber postgame:
"When our coaches play hard in practice, Coach Frazier, our guys don't like it..they say it's not basketball.. and that's what happened in the second half. OSU played hard and our guys don't like it."
How can hearing/reading that Currie not reach for his whose-available rollerdeck? It's an open admission of coaching ineptitude. A real coach would say "tough crap" and double down after having the team run lines for 20 minutes. I'm sure it's a complaint Frank never heard.

He will never say anything here worse than that Nino quote, it's horrendous.

I remember in one post game PC he talked about taking Chester Frazier to the wizard of oz to help him find a brain.  And Frazier was actually a guy he liked.

I also remember him telling the press how Demitri McCamey went home over thanksgiving and sat around getting fat.

When Brian Carlwell transferred out of IL, he also talked about him being overweight and basically lazy, not having the commitment to do the work necessary to succeed.

The point is, don't underestimate the depths Bubbles will sink to when it comes to calling out players to the press.

Looks like oscar is going to give Foster the McCamey/Paul treatment.  Where he puts the blame on the best player for not carrying the team and turns the fans against him.  I see the KSU scout peeps are already calling him a cancer.  That's so totally oscar.

That's pretty our scout/rivals board as well

Yeah, learnin and pulitzer dave are like a couple of the IL fans that are still contending oscar is a good coach.  Not sure what those guys are smoking.

wow, who could have ever predicted this would happen to this program.

Any Illinois fan with a pulse?

15
Frank and oscar appear to both have been very frustrated with Shane Southwell and Will Spradling.

A trusted source (A- or something) told me that Shane & Will were the most selfish players the program has had since he can't remember when. Said they limited this team more than any shortcoming the squad might've had.  :frown:

Weber said the same thing to "people" at Illinois about McCamey and Davis their senior year. Seems like a talking point he likes to recycle.

As to the quote in the OP, reminds me of what oscar said once in a post game presser about taking Chester to Oz to see if they could find him a brain.

16
oscar, learning from his mistakes at UI, is obviously now shifted from coaching not to lose to coaching to build a culture of toughness.  It may not materialize any time soon, but eventually this will all pay off.

17
LOL at oscar outwardly blaming Frank's recruits.

What were his comments?

The older guys need to "drive the wagon" or some ridiculously dumb thing.

That is pretty tame for him.  He typically drives the bus directly over at least one player to try to excuse himself.

No one is making excuses, it's just the simple reality.   Some of you guys act like Weber was given a lifetime contract and that anyone else besides Weber would have been mega succesful.  Plus you listen too much to the Illini fans who have so much pent up rage over how $hitty (and  underachieving) their overall athletic program is right now that they have zero objectivity.

Is this a schtick or are you for real?  Because you sound like a whole lot of Illini fans circa 2006-07.

If you are serious, you are in for one hell of a rough ride.

By the way, that "shitty" program just landed another 4* top 50 recruit yesterday.  The first ever from Simeon to declare before their senior year so I am told.  He will look nice with the rest of the 'breds that Groce is bringing in.  If we land Alexander then all bets are off.  But please, keep thinking that Weber is some golden child and that we were lucky to have him.

20
Damn, I really feel for you guys.  I've been down this path before....and it sucks.

I still can't believe there was an AD at a BCS school that was willing to give Weber another shot.  Blows my mind frankly.

These guys were all major reaches....with the exception of Shaw none are high D1 players.  And Shaw is probably at midmajor contributor at best.

Not only should you not want these guys, you should hope that Weber isn't recruiting similar guys to KSU.

23
You guys should tuck this away, just in case you don't already have it...

I check in here and read every so often, you guys have a great board.

You guys knew what you had for the most part and I commend you for not buying the hype.  That has to be hard after having such a good regular season.  UI fans know exactly what you are going through....and frankly it sucks.

All you can hope is that Weber learned from his recruiting mistakes at UI.  I find that very unlikely, given how stubborn he is though.

Lol, he can bring that 6000 calorie a day diet that did such a bang up job of bulking up Mike Tisdale at Illinois.

Seriously, Price is awful.  Most of our guys didn't make very great gains in size, strength, or toughness.

Just hope and pray you don't get "the other Price" as part of the Weber package.  That would be Jay, aka Kirk Van Houten.  He is a real humdinger.
