My best friend works at KSU athletics and sent me an email about how the Orris recruitment went down (this is privy stuff, so please don't spread it around too much):

oscar Weber: "Man, I'm so exhausted from mowing my own lawn, I'm famished!  I could really go for some chicken nuggets...hey, my Blackberry Curve has some messages!"

Josh Gray: "Hey coach, Josh Gray wants to play for KSU.  Best fans I've ever had, they love me on Twitter!  Where's my offer???!!?"

BW: crap, our roster is full and I REALLY don't want to run someone off.  It's so mean and unruly.  I know!  I'll ignore the situation!

JG: (two weeks later)...coach??....

BW: ....

JG: eff it, I'm going to Texas Tech.

BW: Whew! Glad that's over.  Oh, hey! Another message on my Blackberry Curve!

Michael Orris: "Hey coach, I still really want to play for you.  When Illinois paid you $4,000,000 to buy out your contract because you're such a terrible coach/recruiter, that didn't deter me...or K-State's John Currie apparently.  Anyway, I've been released by IU and need a place to play next year.  I know I'm not nearly as good as Josh Gray, who's a top 150 recruit, but I'm loyal and you promised to coach me."

Read your wikipedia quote again dumbass.  It's pretty clear that it says University of CENTRAL Arkansas, which is in Conway, not Fayetville and they are not even remotely associated with each other.

yah i mean he bolded Univeristy of Arkansas, that totally makes sence. UCA is about as close to The Uof A as, KANSAS state UNIVERSITY

There is no academic institution called "Kansas University"

anybody know if there is a game next year on september 22nd?  i've been looking around but can't find it.  If so...any information available yet on who/when/where?

I feel like a terrible EMAW right now, but I am not 100% familiar with Devon's story.  I know he committed in 2008 for the 2009 class.  "Things didn't work out", yada yada.  Does anyone have the details?  I'd love to know exactly how this guy went from NY to FL to KS.

Saw Jamar at the FarmHouse pancake feed tonight. At least he's staying well fed. Must have just taking a study break...   

I don't get it...you are allowed to be at the pancake feed but Jamar has to stay in and study?

Well, maybe more accurately, our reaction to China.  But yes, domestic supply and demand analysis is ill advised.

I read this after class and emailed a family member.  While not particularly insidery himself, his best friends are big time $$$ people that are quite insidery.  To paraphrase (don't want to cut and paste, too many personal names and info

His friend is on a committee that Currie put together.  Had plans of the facility and was showing them off.
Will cost $20mil (roughly)
Funded mostly thru donations.
He didn't know when it would start, or how much had been raised.
Two story building east of the OoD.  It will not be connected (WHY??!?!?!?)  Looked very elite.
Two full-sized courts with weights, meeting rooms, blah blah.
The lanes were purple with white cat scratches (like the old unis!)
Smaller encircled powercat logo at center court.
