I know Jaimi....she works at my kids' elementary school.  Super awesome lady that is big time EMAW. I also know Alex, he's a very smart kid with a plan...to graduate in 3 years while playing college football regardless of major is no joke.   If he "transfers" anywhere most likely it would be to the NFL.  I'm just glad we got him to wear purple..  #TeamBarnes

Since nobody is talking about this guy I'm making him my guy. . . Chase Johnston. Most of the talk down here in SE kansas/southwest mo was about Alex Barnes. Which sure, he's a good player.  However, I was attending a Pitt High playoff game this year against Shawnee Heights. Everybody in my section of the stands was trying to figure out who this manbeast watching from the sidelines was. The discussion about him actually overshadowed some of the game.  Come to find out it was Chase Johnston.  A friend of mine teaches at Carl Junction high school and says Chase is not only a good kid, student etc but a manchild among boys on he football field. I think he could be special.

Imagine that, a good basketball program playing a slightly above average non-conference schedule, with exactly one tough true away game.

Colorado matches up horribly to KU.

Wake Forest sucks.

I don't want to argue, but many analysts claim that's the toughest non-con in the country this year.

Well then, Give it up for those analysts.

Biggest concern?  Play-makers to make plays at critical times in game (3rd down on defense for example and just 2-10 on offensive 3rd down conversions).

Are there similarities with 2003 situation (two losing seasons in a row)?  One difference is the 2003 situation actually started in 2001.  Kids started taking bowls for granted, just took a while to catch up to them (2004).  Stan doesn't have same concerns with this team. 

What do you know about LL?  Very good offensive team.  Won 9 games each of last two years.  Dual threat QB is tough runner and pretty good passer.  OL has some turnover....struggled against Ark.  But, important to note, Ark. didn't really just dominate.  Was more like a play here and a play their.

Prediction:  KSU 38 LL 27.

I'm no radio announce type guy, but I'm pretty sure taking bowls for granted wasn't why the 2004/2005 teams sucked.

yeah.  it's my favorite tuckcuse about why things failed in '04/05.  if only Matt Butler would have tried harder.

You are correct sir, we don't own any Division II or I-AA National Championships like you. I must say, Congratulations!

Unfortunately for you, however, there are many Directional universities, like yourself, that also own division II and I-AA national championship trophies.  Directional Universities were made for that type of stuff.  Thankfully for us, we do not own any of those, nor are we eligible for them.  If we did own any of those type of trophies, we would probably share your excitement for making posters celebrating our fine play in front of 18,000 fans on a regular basis.  We would obviously rejoice and shout from the rooftops about winning tough games against Pitt State, Missouri State, South Dakota State, Sam Houston "Nutt" State and the occasional yawner against the likes of Minnesota and our brethren from the east, the Kansas Jayhawks.  Indeed I must say again, Congratulations!!!

We also have to give Fargo its due credit, you are very much a titletown . . . in Division II and I-AA of course. 

Enough about the past however. I'm more interested in the future and the future is this. . . Friday Night your team and your fans will find themselves drowning in an absolute buzzsaw of 50,000 strong called LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium.  The game probably won't be that close (42-17) in favor of the Cats and we will soon forget about you frickers up North. The bbs'ing about our shared boring topography and your Div II and I-AA National championships and crap like that is way awesome though.  It helps make the time go faster up until kickoff.  Keep it going guys!!

So I got to thinking how god awful Klein was at throwing his Sophomore year and the transformation he had by his Junior year. Sams already has shown the ability to throw the laser and I'm wondering how badass he'll be by next year. This off season could come down to #life's development.  He's going to eventually be the next RGlll Michael Jordan of football.

We could end up ranked as high as 3rd, have 12 wins, a conference championship, a BCS game, a Heisman finalist, 8 Big XII wins, and had the biggest road win in school history.

I was as butthurt as anyone 7 days ago, possibly more butthurt than most, but this season is still a tremendous success and I've enjoyed it so damn much.

"could" is strong language.
