my my. I didn't realize I've been playing for more than two years. I reached a high rating of about 1700 rapid, which I think is pretty decent!got myself crazy addicted to chess over the last few weeks. trying to figure out how to learn openings is overwhelming though. i just go for the queens gambit and then when i'm black i wing it. probably should quit before i sink it way too much time into this. this is the kind of thing prob better when i'm old and have free time i'll try to see how good i can get. that and paintingFind a youtuber twitch streamer (ideally some kind of titled player) who uses an opening for white that you like. i'm sure there's some queen's gambit player who does some kind of a rating climb that you can watch to give you some of the common themes. My guy is Alex Banzea. I know Gothamchess (very popular chess youtube guy) has a bunch of ratings climbs with different openings. If you're looking for a relatively simple black setup that you can play against anything, I'd recommend the King's Indian. There's a bunch of ratings climbs using that.
So Udeh got massa self’d? That’s a shame.
I don't believe so, but I'm just a spectator. It seems we wanted/needed him as depth at the 5, but he didn't want to wait around for starter minutes, since we picked up Hunter Dickinson in the portal. It's a shame, because Udeh showed flashes of his potential in his brief career at KU. I'm pretty bummed about the situation.
What’s our starting 5 look like next year with the 12 guys we have plus the 3 mys transfers?
1. Cam Carter
2. Tylor Perry
3. Mys transfer guard/wing
4. Tomlin
5. Mystranfer Big / Nguessan
Give me DJamer the Bluejay, please.
Great choice, bonehead!
I think the most reasonable thing is just to outline how much you would like to hang out 1x on the weekend? Every other week? And then just explain you have a lot of other things going on and you like hanging out, but hate saying no all the time.
The “here is how often I am available” needs to be specific though for that to work.
