Probably more of a slight fanningbrag, but my point was clear. If there's more that I can do as a Cat fan, then i'm all ears.

Ask yourself this, are you farmhumping at your maximum?  Be honest with yourself here... #getalittlebettereveryday

I signed up like a year ago and forgot, and have been paying every month since.  I am like a huge cat booster, apparently.

OMG, me too (except 2 years ago I think).  you're welcome kstateo.tv, I can't wait for the next tele-fund call i get.

I  KNEW Ron was Slice guy, people doubted me, but it's right there for the world to see.  Feels good to finally put that argument to rest.

I once had a similar situation with similar symptons.  It turned out it was a spider bite behind my right ear.  Must have happened while I was sleeping  :ohno:.  Thankfully it wasn't the flesh eating variety, but a spider bite none the less.

My EMAW is pretty tough, but I don't think it could take not hiring Doug at this point.  I don't think it would survive.

just sent this to currie, i'm trying to do my part.  i'm not a bball expert, so i may not have nailed all of the benefits of hiring, but oh well, i tried.

John,

I’m writing you to express my opinion regarding your task ahead of hiring the next men’s basketball coach at my alma mater, Kansas State University.

I don’t have to tell you what the last six years have of successful basketball have done for KSU to increase our brand awareness nationally.  What has given us that exposure has been not only winning basketball games, but having a dynamic and interesting head coach that people want to see and hear.  I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to have that continue.

Based on that, I believe that you should be in contact with Doug Gottlieb right now to secure him as KSU’s head coach.  He brings to the table many attributes that would almost guarantee our continued success.  He provides:

1.   Immediate national exposure from his ESPN analyst role
2.   His network of basketball contacts, from coaches of all levels (High School, AAU, JUCO), recruiting analysts, assistant coaches, etc.
3.   His Father runs a recruiting assistance service (see www.branchwest.com)
4.   He’s a basketball savant, he’s one of, if not the best, analysts in the world.
5.   He’s a winner, I know the personality type well.  People like himself succeed at anything they want to.
6.   He can get into any living room of any recruit in the country.  Every basketball player in the country knows who Doug Gottlieb is and will listen.
7.   He played in the big 12, he knows the environment.
8.   He wants the job!!!

I realize that your under tremendous pressure to make this hire.  I can tell you that there are probably “easier” choices than Doug.  But, make no mistake about it, nothing, and I mean NOTHING, is ever gained without accepting risk.  Now is the time for you to stand in the face of the “easy” choice, stare it down and prove to the world that you’re unafraid.

I close with a quote:

“Greatness, in the last analysis, is largely bravery - courage in escaping from old ideas and old standards and respectable ways of doing things.”

Thanks for your time,

willie

In my opinion, proper grammar always helps the cause.
sorry, how was the zeal?

send the hiring manager an email telling him you're interested and qualified, with a copy of your resume.  tell him you want to meet for 30 mins and discuss the job and what he's looking for, ask him if it would be ok to schedule something.  don't worry about the HR person.

Even though the "proper channel" would be to apply online?

Do both.  You're not bothering the supervisor guy if you show interest in working for him (or her).  If he's a dick about it, you probably wouldn't want to work for him anyways.

If you want this job, be aggressive and go get that SOB.

Good luck!!

Last post before I leave for an extended period of time.  I love it how you guys are always the ones who make things personal, and then when I defend those personal attacks with honest accounts, you keep getting more personal and making more personal attacks, and then some dipshit comes along and acts like it's my fault that I'm trying to defend myself.  Some of you guys just can't handle the fact that I'm a KU fan.  It's pathetic.  And Limestone, you are one of the absolute worse when it comes to this.  KU absolutely owns the crap out of you, and you keep trying to play it off like you're TSC.  It's hilarious.  Then you make up lies and try to say that I claim things that I never have.  Not sure why in the hell it would bother someone so much that I played AAU basketball, but you make it personal every single chance you get.  Says a lot more about your own personal insecurity than it does mine.  My guess is that you're some single dude in his 40's who has no family and no children, and this is your outlet for your frustration.  You are a loser.

You can almost set your watch to these events.

Two-faced chatter!  TWO-FACED CHATTER!

I think he called him Tally McLoosehands or something like that during the CU game.  I lol'd, but it kind of hurt because I love JHR so much when he's dunkin' on bitches.

Man, Jack Harry is going to whine about the FT difference after this one.

Threads like this make me real sad.  They give me hope that there might be like minded people that run our AD and could make something like this happen, but . . . sigh . . . it won't.

We'll trot Bill and his rejects out there for another season.
