Fake Dan Beebe's Twitter feed was all over it, and @FakeWillie was pretty amusing.  Looks like a new account.  Did anyone else hear Stan Weber say "I felt a whole new freshman, er, freshness" about the conference on 810 today?  Sounds like the new crop is reporting early this year.

I have to admit, the quality of the production is first rate. The director/whatever is a former walk-on at KU, Micah Brown, that graduated in 2009.

I agree, the production was pretty great.  If we had stuff like this on the 'Cats I'd be pretty fired up.  Still, not even the Tarantino slow-motion walk down to the field could make those guys from KU look tough.  Nice try, though!

The good news is that, as road games go, the crowd won't be much of a factor, if any.  Have you seen the turnout for any of their earlier games?  The stands at KICKOFF looked like end of the 3rd Qtr in Lawrence last week.  Just sad.  :users:

Don't worry, the national audience is no longer watching.  Probably haven't been for a while now.

The key to Martinez's running game is T. Hartman.  Dude has been diving into the mix and taking himself out of coverage, leaving the back door wide open.  I'd swear he thinks he is a linebacker.  The first general order of a safety is to keep the play in front of you.  Massive, epic fail.  :goodbyecruelworld:

Kansas State Football / Field Condition?
« on: October 06, 2010, 11:20:07 PM »
Anyone know if they've done anything about the godawful condition of our field?  During the Baylor/KU game (hahaha!) the announcers said they used Downy to reduce static and get the rubber sand to settle down where it belongs.  All I know is I go back and watch our first few games and it looks freaking terrible.  I'd like to think that we would do something about it before the whole country tunes in.

Maybe a little Husker blood will get it looking good as new.

Reason against: Not storming the field is a pretty big sign of disrespect, and I'd hate to be compared to those suckholes from Colorado.
Reson for: Storming the field in '98 and carrying the posts to the 'Ville was one of the best nights of my life.

One makes K-State look better on a national stage, and the other is just rough ridin' awesome for the people who are there.  Here's hoping it's a blowout in our favor and its a non-issue!

Phuck that guy.  He just wrote a foooocking essay and used every reason in the book why the good people of Manhattan hate both Nebrasska fans and the fvckin' tools from Fort Riley...

I agree that had his worthless ass gotten shot in Iran or Iraq or wherever he was a waste of life over there, we'd have never been subjected to that waste of time.

Eat a dick, loser.  :chainsaw:

I don't care what Jay Urban said, this is not a "lighten up" situation.  Anyone who wishes for harm to come to ANY of our servicemen or women should be denied the right to sleep safe at night.  By that I mean their addresses should be bulletin board material at every base of every branch of service.  There's no such thing as a joke when it comes to this subject, assholes.  You are an embarrassment, and there is no place for you among K-State faithful.  If we met up with Jay in the parking lot, I would waste no time in helping him kick your ass -- not that he'd need the help, you foooock1ng pussies. :comehere:

Gimme a foooocking break!!  Did you even go to K-State?!?!?   If so, you would know that the vast majority of the "riley rats" that came into aggieville were pompous assholes.  Back when it wasn't "war time", they were just "assholes", not "heroes".  Hell, for all we know he was a foooocking cook or something...

My issue is not with him as a "serviceman", but as a piece of crap husker fan that didn't even go to that worthless institution of learning.  Just because he liked to play soldier boy, does NOT give him the right to talk a load of crap on our university which I hold dear to my heart.

You need the lighten the foooock up, or put on your corncob hat and go have a great time with Jay.

 :nono:

You're right, it doesn't give him the right to talk crap on our university, and I took exception to all of it.  I would gladly join you in telling him to choke on a huge purple dick while wearing the "eff Nebraska" (no censor) shirt I bought in the 'Ville in '98.  But does it give you the right to wish he had been killed so you wouldn't have to listen to his bullshit?  Because Riley guys are sometimes assholes in the 'Ville?  I never said he was a hero, and I don't care if he did nothing but jerk off  :jerk: to pictures of Tom Osborne while he was in the service.  But not even his degenerate status as a 'Husker fan makes him worthy of that kind of statement.  Surely you can agree on that point.

Kansas State Football / Blackskirts aren't so tough to earn these days.
« on: September 24, 2010, 01:52:18 PM »
So, apparently the competition in the non-con is tough enough to award black skirts these days.  First a 10-win season means they're "back", and now this.  It's sad to watch them lower their standards a little more every year.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5609157

"Previously, Pelini waited until October or even November to hand out the black jerseys because he believes it's an honor players have to earn. He said this week felt like the right time this year."

I guess he wanted to do something to get them mentally prepared for South Dakota State.

This is a picture of KU's fans coming out now that the "weather is fair".  What's the other way to say that?

Storming the field for that game? So sad. :nono:  I love the fact that K-State fans have learned to say "we knew it" by reserving our field/court parties for wins over Top 5 opponents, and sometimes not even then (Texas bball game).

"... and that pass is going to be caught and dropped..."

This one always kills me because if it's dropped, it's NOT CAUGHT.  If it's a catch, and you drop it, it's a damn FUMBLE!  :bang:

Or this one:

"Coffman throws, he has a receiver open, it's Smith at about the 25 yard line. (silence)"  :ohno:

It's Smith?.. Did he catch it, or is he just the one that you noticed was open and the ball is still flying through the air toward Wichita somewhere?  Ass.

Great thread, btw.

Adding insult to, well, insult:

Did you notice that KU helped provide the inspiration for the theme song to this week's Bottom 10?  Chicken Fried:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?page=bottom10100908

Tied for 5th on the S-list.  Ouch.  Listening to 810 Sports today KK pointed out that KU is playing with their Orange Bowl recruiting class.  Good thing they capitalized on that once in a century season they had.

It's so bad that it seems almost wrong to tease my beaker friends... well, maybe not!

Kansas State Football / Re: Injury Report (Douglas/Aufner)
« on: September 08, 2010, 04:13:58 PM »
From today's "K-State Sports Extra":

INJURY REPORT: While not being specific on the injuries, Snyder said that Ethan Douglas "would not" play against Missouri State this week, but Clyde Aufner "possibly" could play." Both are Wildcat offensive tackles.

That is GREAT news about Aufner!  :crossfingers:

:surprised: Thanks for the insidery-type info, 3GK.

That was part of the injury report, not something I added.  Thanks for playing, though.  :gocho:

I'm in favor of a sell-out IMO.

F the black and white crap.

Precisely.  What's more important than coordinating on colors?.. Keeping the effing RED OUT! :chainsaw:

Check out PollStalker at PollSpeak for full analysis.  Where among other things, you will not that Mike DeArmond had enough scotch in his system on Saturday that he felt the need to rank Missouri #23.

This should not be a surprise to anyone.

DeArmond is about as bad as they come.  I read his articles when I need a good laugh.  Remember, it's Misery we're talking about, so it probably wasn't scotch in his system.  More like a 3-day meth bender.  :ohno: :excited:
