Kansas State Football / Our time.
« on: December 08, 2014, 11:07:40 PM »
It is our time now.  This silly little insignificant 25 year fluke is finally over.  I will immensely enjoy watching your program back to where it belongs, while ours rises back up to its rightful place.  In due time, no one will even remember this minor diversion.  Enjoy your retirement Bill, I know I will...

a grotesque gathering of cro-magnon cretins coming together to celebrate their tractor-pulling, coach-worship culture?  I can see it now...the men in their cowboy hats, the women in their rascal scooters -- I'd rather eat real meat.  no thank you, sir!

KU: Still better, still richer, still more nationally recognized.  Can't believe how much anger there is in this thread.  I pray for the sheep of Manhattan tonight.

KU is the flagship institution.  There are KU bars in every major city like Chicago, New York, Lenexa, etc.  You don't see KSU bars in those cities because no one outside of Manhattan cares about KSU.  KU's basketball program is worth more than KSU's football program, from a financial perspective.  KU is home to the best basketball coach in the country and also invented the sport.

I would think "Financial Perspective" would mean money?   35 million more than 17 million right?

http://www.kansascity.com/2013/03/09/4111004/ku-k-state-and-mizzou-athletic.html

btw...   Severance payments 8.5 million, Is Terry Allen still getting a check too?

If you were to sell KU basketball on the open market you'd get significantly more than you'd get for KSU football.  These are just facts, sorry.

There are two years left on the latest $1.2B KU Endowment Far Above campaign.  I have heard they have raised almost $1B of that amount.  KU Athletics and KU Endowment will work together, so I would expect the timing of the football renovation will coordinate with Rock Chalk Park finishing up, the Far Above closing out, or perhaps be the last big hurrah! of the campaign.

Oh the things I wish I was allowed to tell you about RCP. If KU can't afford to pay for that facility what makes you think they'll be able to afford a decent football renovation?

Did you read my post?  KU has $1.2B raised to spend.

Yeah because that's how endowments work, also there's no way this is a sock

I think I know a little bit more about endowments than you do.  I got my degree in Endowments from Baker.  From what I am hearing, KU is planning a massive overhaul of the stadium.  It will put your rinky dink hole in the ground to shame when it's done.

When you recruit the kind of high level talent we do you're bound to end up with some bad apples.

Next thing you know the phogsock will tell us that $1.2 billion is cash in hand.

Might as well be kitty...when you've got the kind of alumni we do the funds are unlimited. Little bit more money rolling around KU guys than your wheat farmers out there in western Kansas. Sorry, just reality.

Ridiculous thread!  KU football has won a BCS bowl. Something a certain purple school can't boast...

I love this talking point based on the fact that the BCS was called the bowl alliance when we won the fiesta bowl after going 11-1 in 97. They just keep repeating it.

This logic also takes away our 2000 southwestern bell cotton bowl title (it's AT&T now crap). Also there is no big 12 title game anymore so that first one doesn't count either. Dammit!

Sorry kitty. KU football > KSU football. Once Snyder's gone it'll all go back to normal but enjoy your time in the sun...

I can't wait until our renderings are released.  Zenger shrewdly waited until after you finalized all your plans so that he could build something just slightly better.  The man is a genius.  As for the funds, well, ha ha, I wouldn't worry about that: www.kuendowment.org

Genius? The same guy who hired Weis?

Charlie Weis has 3 Super Bowl rings. How many does KSU have?

This was taken just outside the bathrooms on the east side this past fall.

Look at that TV  :Wha:

That TV has 100 times more character and tradition than you'll ever have.  I'd rather have that old tube TV on our campus than your out-of-place huge flatscreen in the middle of a black asphalt desert.
