Groman, in case you didn't know, Rick daris is a sheriff.

Good thing I'm not allowing underage drinking at my reception then!

groman, do you have a large enough van to take me and my teenage children to the reception and back to the westin?? if you have room enough for them but not me, that's fine too

Awww shucks.  No kids allowed at the wedding.  Seeing as we have an open bar.  But the hotel does have a shuttle that can take you other places around town!

Why does Larry get 2 bathrooms?

I guess you'll have to get a wife who has to poop separately from you.

pretty sure fanning lives "right next to" everything in Kansas City.

He actually does live right next to my GF  :runaway:
:fatty:

I don't know whether or not I should be frightened.

OK I don't know how to check my messages. Where did you send it? To my email? Wish this was easier like Facebook!

You are the bride? OK this might be a little nosey but do you poop in front of your fiancé? Is it always room clearing quality stuff. My wife is horrible. I can't stand it. Do you have any tips? I didn't live with her before we got married so I had no idea she was this ripe.

I sent you an email as well.  Hope that works for you!

well this thread is certainly a pleasant surprise and groman is easily in the top ten percent of posters on this board after reading his work here.

Thank you, I think!  Although I'm the bride. :)

the bride, eh?

have you met Fanning?  He's the co-owner of this board.

I know!  A real girl on the internet.  Don't believe I've met this Fanning character.

Easy Valentine's Day advice: Write her a card about why you like her and maybe draw a cute picture.  Maybe accompany it with a flower or chocolate or something, but honestly, a card with some heartfelt sentiment is a cheap way to do something romantic that anybody will like!

Do they have bunk beds in this hotel? If so I'm totally in!

My birthday is that weekend so I'll probably just bring my Xbox One(Yup, Christmas present) to the room and me and all my buds can game it up without mom and dad telling me to go to sleep at midnight.

Can you send me the link so I can have my mom book the room?  Also we will probably need 2 rooms so my parents can stay next door and make sure we don't throw flour bombs out the window(all tommy's fault we got caught at the baseball tournament last summer).

DIBS ON TOP BUNK!

Pretty sure no bunk beds, but there is an option where you can add a suite to a regular room that has plenty of couches and a TV and stuff!

Hi Groman!

I am interested in staying in this hotel for the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City. I'll be driving up with my wife from Frisco, TX Wednesday evening so I'll need to stay in the hotel Thursday-Saturday night. Is this possible? We are Kansas State fans I promise. Although sometimes when my wife gets cranky she will root for Texas because she wants to make me mad. Yuck! Hate Texas!

OK so I don't have any idea what "PM" means? What do the rooms look like? I am a special case because I cannot see my wife going to the bathroom. I know its weird but that's just how it is. Can you find out if any of the rooms have a second bathroom that might be hidden? She can use the bathroom and I will use the second one. If I have to get a second room to get the other bathroom I can but I'll have to put it under a fake name or have one of you guys register for it (you can use my debit card). Do you think that's possible? Oh and you can get a king size bed, we sleep in the same bed. Are there any Taco Bells close to the hotel? My wife pretty much exclusively eats Taco Bell. We won't bring our dog George either. He can stay with my wife's parents.

OK sorry for so many questions. Just let me know what the hotel says!

Thanks,

-Larry T

Means private message!  I sent you one.

Can I bring my glass potato?

JFC.  Can we get a complete list of who's going to be in this hotel and what weird crap they might be bringing so I can know if this will be a safe environment for Trooper?

As of right now, nobody, except the guests for my wedding.  So it looks like you're safe.

groman are you a Cat's fan?  :ksu:

My favorite Big 12 team!  That's why I'm trying to offer you guys the deal first.  I'd prefer not to have any KU fans lurking about. ;)

i dunno, guys. sounds like a trap.

IT'S A TRAP!  But not really.  I have a wedding website and everything!  I'm just afraid to post it out in the open with trolls lurking about and such. :)

Do you have anything at the Marriott?

No. :(  Sorry.  I actually did contact that Marriott but they didn't back to me.  Jerks.  I know the Westin is a little further away than the downtown hotels, but it's still pretty close!

groman, is it a requirement that we be going to the Big 12 Tournament to get one of these rooms?  My mom said she would drop me off and buy me a weekend pass to LegoLand (right around the corner from the Westin!) if I found a place to stay for the weekend.

It is absolutely not a requirement!  We just don't have enough guests to fill our rooms and thought that a lot of people would be in town for the Big 12 Tourney that weekend.  But yeah, anyone who needs a room is welcome to have one!

Hey all,

I'm going to hop off for just a bit, but I'll be back on in an hour or so!  Please feel free to PM or email me if you'd like a link to sign up for a room and get our group rate!  We are more than happy to give rooms to your friends and family as well.  You could have a block of purple there!  Also, some rowdy wedding guests, so we'll probably all get along. :)

If sd and his ferret are there, Trooper and I are out.

No disrespect to sd; it's more about the ferret.

Aww, ferrets are all right.  But no ferrets allowed at the hotel.

I don't have any, alas.

I believe you!  My dad also has that sort of deal but I'm not enough of a world traveler to build up the points.

No, he's a dog.  I just don't like Trooper mixing with other types of animals.  Please confirm this place is dogs only.

Just called.  Dogs only.
