Maybe I wasn't very clear when asking. I just wondered if anyone knew of a legit reason we do this.

Are you a Rugby or a Basketball fan?  :dubious:

I follow KSU football and basketball. That's about it. I can't say I'm much of a sports nut.

Dear sweet rej7878, that is an excellent question. Don't ever stop being curious. You actually remind me of a young me, so precocious and full of wonderment. The sad truth is that no one knows why LHCBS does what he does, and we can't begin to understand the way his mind works. All we can do is trust in the process and try to ignore the bad people who say mean things about us along the way. So run along now and thicken up that skin. You're gonna need it. Cats.

I'm hoping this is a joke. I'm in my 30s.

First off, I'm new here, so I don't know what a phog sock is, but I'm guessing it's a bad thing. Second, I realize we play a few well known teams before conference play, but not always 3 well known teams. I'll be honest, I don't follow college ball except KSU, so I have no idea if this is common. I was just wondering if KState/Snyder had a reason behind it. It just seems like a lot of people rag on us because of it. And so, no matter how well we play or what our record is (like last year) they (analysts, other football teams, coaches, whoever) never seem to take us seriously because of those first few games. I was hoping someone knew more about it than me.

Occasionally, we play more well known teams, but does anyone know of a legitimate reason that we almost always play a few lesser known teams at the beginning of the season? (i.e. build confidence, work out kinks, maybe even give the little guys some national attention?) I'm sure Coach Snyder has reasons, I'm just wondering if anyone might have some insight into what they are?
