Kansas State Basketball is hard / Re: Master Dudes Thread

It would be pretty wild for anyone worth a crap to be waiting around in September but that would be dope.

I think there are halfway decent players waiting on eligibility decisions that could pop up still.

I'm trying to figure out an Irish walking taco with potato chips but haven't totally cracked it yet

Weapons was a lot of fun.  An original, unique horror movie that played with the mechanics of the genre in fun ways.  It's also good to see Cregger follow up Barbarian with something strong.  With all the little twists on the genre in Weapons, I'm hoping he has a pretty deep well of ideas.

Naked Gun was what you would hope a naked gun remake would be.  Nothing that's going to blow your mind but it's fun, brisk, and delivers on the brand.

Feels like a lot of games

That's a shame.  The arrow people are the best and doing some of the best and most original things in MHK

Yeah, it felt like they really didn't want to give up the TV slot so they screwed the teams/fans.  Glad I didn't go.

I'm thinking Greece with the euro plates and white people.  The only English sign throws me but I'm still guessing Mykonos.

With a win this weekend, we can start thinking about lapping the rest of the league before the season is done

been binging The Last Man on Earth, and have to say, it's very enjoyable

Love that one

Ebony & Ivory   :star::raccoon: :raccoon: :raccoon: :raccoon: :raccoon: :raccoon:- The totally, 100% true story about how McCartney and Wonder became friends to record the hit song told by the filmmaker of the Greasy Strangler. I enjoyed it, but it's a straight raccoon movie. Rated one less raccoon than Jodorowsky's Holy Mountain, the raccooniest of movies that I've seen.

Serious question. Is it common to still go to church on vacation? Like, is that part of the planning when you go to places?

I can't speak for dlew but speaking as someone who worked at hotels, Catholics specifically would ask about mass fairly regularly.  Not enough that it was all of them or probably even most, but still a sizeable percentage.  Almost never protestants.

There was a pak to watch Kurosawa's Ran last night.  The remaster on it was beautifully done. Mocat mentioned Shakespearean which definitely fits.  You can see why he's considered such a master.  I can't fathom how you could make a movie on that scale 40 years ago.

15
Watch it on Netflix if you aren't doing the Screenland thing.  Also, the Screenland thing will sell out, but probably not until a week before.

Going to put a hole in an interior wall & add a door.

Do you have to have someone come mark spots on the wall where the wires are? Like they do when someone's planning to dig?

It’s right next to another door. We have a game room upstairs with a bathroom. The bathroom has a large closet to the left when you walk in. The problem is the bathroom closet door opens into the closet, so you can’t put anything big on the floor because door is in the way. I’m going to put a door that goes directly from the game room into the closet that opens into the game room so I can put a couple single mattresses in the closet. We don’t have basements where I live & we don’t have a dedicated guest room. My parents like to sleep upstairs anyway when they visit because I’m they have their own bathroom & it’s like a little apartment up there. There’s no outlets or switches on the wall I’m putting the door in. But I will switch the breaker to the upstairs off & put a hole in the middle of the closet side drywall and take a look in the wall before I go crazy just to be safe.

There are slightly more expensive studfinders that can find wires for you if you need it.

RRR is 7/7 you philistine and it's at Screenland at the end of the month if anyone wants their mind blown

The Assessment - A decent sci-fi flick that's pretty uncomfortable throughout. There's nothing really mindblowing in it but it's pretty well done.

Superman - This is the best Superman I've seen, but that's a pretty low bar.  It's basically Superman done to Marvel quality and isn't as dark and broody as previous DC movies.

Eddington was good.  I was nervous about seeing a movie with big Covid energy but enjoyed it.  Half the movie is a real-world incarnation of the internet during covid and then it goes off the rails.

You could potentially do some gift card shenanigans but $30k would be a lot for me (no kids and not in NYC)

Beck at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony was really cool.  He did a lot off Sea Change and Morning Phase that I wasn't as familiar with but were great with the accompaniment.  His opener was Molly Lewis, who whistled and had about the worst 10-minute stand-up set of whistling jokes between songs.

Have you guys tried the pizza spot at Linwood and Gilham?  You, weirdly, have to buy a membership, but the pizza is pretty darn good.

Are you allowed to smoke indoors? That's why a lot of places do memberships. I bet that's it.
I've never tried it but i don't think so.  Which is weird because they also sell ciggies there.

Is this Orange?  Its just a couple blocks away so I should probably try it

I used my buddies awardtool.com login and it is fantastic.  It let's you search multiple departure/arrival cities at once, over multiple days and classes.  Then you get search results that show the amount of points in each program that will allow you to book them.  I'm ending up with roundtrip business class to asia when I thought I would only be able to do one way.

It's expensive (like $8-10 a month) but I would join for a month if I was looking to book something and having trouble.  It could also be cool to decide where to go.  Throw in a few cities that interest you and see what works.

Farm'O'geddon if I do say so myself. I will not be in attendance as  I am saving my travel dollars for the College Football Playoff

I've saved a lot of money over the years with this philosophy
