I miss Bridges on the Suns.  That dude is a swiss army knife player that just makes any team better.

The ladies advanced to nationals today and tied for second at regionals. It could be tough, but not impossible, to make the cut at nationals. Florida State has the #1 and #2 ranked golfers and will be hard for anyone to beat. This is still the best season in program history.

Carla Bernat also scored an albatross on a 422 yard par five.
Considering FSU beat everyone's ass at the regional, I'm at least glad we won't be facing anyone better. Bernat seems about as good as anyone out there.

Will and Skylar reunite in the Steeler's QB room.

I hope they engage in hijinks together to undercut Aaron Rodgers and get the starting job (assuming Rodgers signs there).

Jim's is a basically hipster VA bar with quality versions of older menu standards.  I enjoy it.

First team to win a game without a shot in MLS. Historic!

Slow Rise donuts is opening a brick and mortar. They were excellent at their pop ups but certainly not worth 2 hour waits every time you wanted some.

the Star says they are actually closing, but maybe only temporarily  :frown:

People love Waldo Thai but I've always thought it was good/not great and ultra expensive/hard to get into.

I'm a Thai House boi.

I disagree with you on Waldo Thai but I will be trying Thai House now at some point.  I've always gotten a reservation pretty easily, had great servers who will explain whatever, and loved the food.  I've even enjoyed things that I would never order myself but tasted from someone else, which is always good sign for me.

I'm not surprised somebody posted that but I am disappointed by the 7 likes

Somehow I missed it was about vampires in the trailer. It was a like a huge twist for me.

I want a spin off with the Native American vampire hunters.

The Holy Mountain (1973) 14/7.

easily the most enhanced mode movie i've ever seen. saw it at screenland with chicat and i don't really know what can be said about it other than it's an amazing sensory experience. best to watch without knowing anything going into it.
This movie had EVERYTHING except modern pubic grooming standards and a concern for the well being of animals.

Really glad i didn’t see chicomcat’s spoiler before i saw sinners. Don’t come up ITT and spoil movies

I didn't share anything that couldn't be seen in a trailer :shrugs:

Seemed like a good value pick.  It's not often you can find a potential OT starter that late.  I'm expecting us to move up in the second round as several players fit our needs with good overall value.

I'm pretty sure that's a parody account but it's hard to tell sometimes.  He'll list the top 5 NBA players of all time and Chris Mullin will top the list.

Sinners was a blast. What starts off as a seemingly straightforward period piece turns into a vampire movie. Also, some musical numbers in there. It really shouldn't work but it does.  I can't think of an original big budget movie that has taken that big of a swing in the last decade.

So who do you guys think our next coach will be? Are we going to be out of money to reach out to Brad again? Maybe we reach out to Coach K and tell him he could really prove his greatness by coming to a place where the cupboards are bare and winning an NC. Does Frank want to run it back? Is Shane close to being a HC yet?

Clent Stewart so we can retain the player on our roster

There's nothing punitive about it. Surely you have heard people distinguishing between guaranteed and unguaranteed money in a contract valued at $X.

The "pay it back" in your original post makes me think you're paying them and then trying to claw it back when they transfer, which I don't think would work.

An incentive-laden contract would be a better alternative, but I still struggle to think it will work. With the money coming from anywhere, some car-dealing booster somewhere will guarantee the kid dough.

The main thing that needs to change is having long-term contracts.

Is there a prohibition against these? It seems like a no-brainer. At a minimum you tie up the NIL money to a 2-3 year commitment and they have to pay it back if they transfer early or don't hit certain performance metrics, etc. etc.

What's the advantage to the player in the scenario you describe?

Guaranteed cash for multiple years, with the ability to renegotiate if you perform above expectations--same as coaches.

how is it guaranteed cash if you have to pay it back if you don't hit certain performance metrics?

It's not that hard to use your imagination here. You can structure the contract however you want, and I'm sure it would end up looking similar to a professional coach or player contract. You earn some lower amount of guaranteed money, with a bunch of added performance based incentives.

The "pay it back" would largely come into play either on transferring or failing to adhere to code of conduct, whatever. You could also advance some of the incentives with the possibility of taking the balance off of other guaranteed money or deals if they failed to hit the requirement.

The details are all besides the point, though, because contracts are pretty much whatever both sides will agree to. My point is it's a no-brainer in any business model to try to lock up talent with long-term money incentives, so I'm curious whether it is technically illegal or whether major programs just haven't figured out how to do it yet.

I think when you have a hundred programs competing for the services of a player, it's hard to get a player to sign something potentially punitive.  Even if you get them to agree to it, the upside is the opportunity to sue a former player, all while trying to convince 10 others to come and play for you.

I went to the show on Saturday and they were a good time.  The lead singer has a powerful voice.

Also, the ice cream shop attached to the Rino has good ice cream.

Now I'm looking at Southeast Asia in November or so.  My wife and I were going to do the KSU Ireland game but half the reason was to visit her family in England and they'll be gone.  I'll take any pro-tips.  No country is definite but I've heard good things about Vietnam and Laos.
