Offense
Qb:  Sam's/Waters

What is your gut feeling on the QB situations?  Apologizes if you have already posted in one of the QB threads, i haven't wade thru those yet.
I am thinking sams after the spring game. He has too much ability to keep on the bench. He is pure lightning with the ball and i can see him becoming a star. I actually think waters starts the first game but d sams comes in and rushes for 150. Behind our oline he could rush for 1500 this year if healthy. Rumors on the team that he is actually the fastest player  :ksu:

here is oline 2 deep but the second string is almost a complete guessing game. If anything happens inside whitehair switches back to guard and rooks steps in. epps and ash looked good in the spring game and shoudl step in when taylor is gone. mariner could also fill in almost anywhere and i was surpised he didn't play more last year.

Lt: lucas/rooks/tomasi mariner
lg:Stiverson/ash/cooper
C: finney/liddle
Rg: taylor/epps/kleinsorge
rt: Whitehair/rooks/ mariner

DLINEGUYS 2 deep(dlineguy was scouting spring game)

Offense
Qb:  Sam's/Waters
rb: Hubert/rose Leverette/Robinson- They love Jarvis but he sat out the spring game so hard to guess here
Fb:  gronk/nemecheck - nemecheck will get plenty of time on short yardage/3rd te/big sets
Te: mcdonald/trujillo- deadly combo
Lt: lucas
lg:Stiverson- going to breakout
C: finney
Rg: taylor -
rt: Whitehair- will be our lt next year. Rooks was great last year but whitehair is an monster/future nfl'er / dlineguy's favorite player (an olineman?)
Wr: tbl
Wr: thompson
Wr: miller/gordon may get some time as our future tbl

Defense:
de:  bryant and finau /dowling/nash- nash did not impress in spring:
dt:britz (monster)/Seiwart
dt: Reed/hood/dowling-Hood will be very good for us someday
de: Mueller/Wood/willis-hoping wood deveops quickly and takes bryant's spot/willis looks to have a bright future as well
We have a lot of options on the dline- hopefully multiple guys take big steps forward this spring

lb: walker/davis/ramirez- need these 2 young guys to pan out
mlb: Truman/slaughter-truman set some type of lifting record this spring. He looks to breakout and be our best lb. My money is on truman to lead the team in tackles.
3rd lb : moore/Johnson/isaah williams- hoping Johnson pans out. This is our thinnest position on the team

Cb1- evans- may shift inside on nickel. expect an all big 12 season
cb2- daily/coleman/green/starks/roberts/miles jr- could be any of these guys. I would like to see coleman step up he has great size and looked great on kickoffs last season. I could see him as a Stephan harrison type.
nickel- Burns- speed to burn. Hopefully he takes the next step forward as well.
fs: zimms/bunugli
ss: burnett/jackson- Will be fine this season and speed to burn. we need a juco safety to make the 2 deep

WHO IS OUR BACKUP LONGSNAPPER
jk

Kansas State Football / Re: Ron Prince stories

It's already been asked in this thread but I really want to know how Prince was after he was fired. It had to kill his ego at least some.

Not even a little bit. He told more than a few players " your the reason i was fired"........jedi crap
We toured the chiefs facility after he was fired and dlineguy ended up eating at the same table as ron ron. Sure enough on espn they start talking about the firing and the amount of black coaches in the ncaa..........it got real weird for a little bit until Herndon(also at table) started laughing and then said "ahh man im sorry coach prince". His response was priceless.

"Never feel bad for someone who makes as much money as I do"

another dlineman (not dlineguy) fell asleep during a meeting before practice. Ron simply stopped what he was talking about, calmly walked over and grabbed the dlineman's phone (it was laying next to his head) and chucked it against the wall chattering it into a gazillion pieces. ron then walked out like a total badass phone destroyer king of the world jedi mind trick assassin that he was. (in his own mind)

During Prince's last season he called dlineguy over to talk during one on one drills :comehere: The only thing he said was "i want you to start a fight". Basically the next rep i get in one on one's i'm going to start a fight. That's when i realized i needed to matchup vs. ed prince. Eventually word spread after the fight that ron ron ordered it and Funruhcat76 asked ronnie if that was true. Ron denied it in front of me and immediatly made me think about all the times he would say that he hates liars, cheaters, and people who steal.

What about James Franklin?
[/quote] awesome guy awesome coach- everyone loved him and Raheem.

Scott Frost incident?
No idea but Frost was already well above his pay grade the first day he came in. He will be a great o-coord. this year and he should be the first guy we call when Bill retires. I heard rumors about Ron ron telling him he "wasn't ready" for a position job- ronnie screwed this one up bad. Extremely hard worker, very well liked and was not an ego guy at all like you would expect.

Matt boss quitting incident?
matt couldve been a great player and an nfl player make no mistake. Prince would make shi@@# comments in front of the whole team daily crapping on Matt. He didn't even get chances in practice and when he would they would jump all over him. The helmet throwing incident was the last straw for him i'm sure and made 0 sense. HeY YOU GIVE ME YOUR HELMET- then he just tosses it like 30 yards , no one knew how to react. very strange head games with a good guy who could've helped a ton.

what did the team think of Ron's bone patrol habits? high fives or laughingstock?
no one really believed all that stuff- he was fantastic at fooling. I would say I started to understand when he dropped the "I'm not so sure that i shouldn't have drank more beer and f!@#$% more b!@#$%^ in our senior meeting.

dlineguy57, were you recruited by Prince or Snyder? Either way, do you have any interesting stories from your recruitment?
walk on- had one yr with LHCBS

FUNRUH will have better stories than this- he is the greatest chinese olineman in ksu history.

Te coach was all talk no action. He was a good guy though. Somedays he would go too far. Before a practice in the locker room leonard was yelling about how if we aren't going to go all out the rest of the season he will fight us. dlineguy wasn't in the best mood and simply responded, "no you wonnnnnnnnnn't". Te coach then turned to wall and punched a hole in it before walking away and not saying anything. Dlineguy was all  :dunno: at practice but nothing happened after that.

Raheem was an unbelievably good coach btw. Part of what made Tibs fail was that he was so different from Raheem and he was a huge dic to all the players. He was Ron Ron's golden boy because of all his tackles in college ( like 400, impressive but at north dakota), and everyone mocked the tackles comments because half the guys hadn't heard of the state of North Dakota let alone how many tackles some J.a. got there.

The worst coach dlineguy has ever had.I was a fan of the bears until they hired him. He had 0 ability to develop any relationship with his players. He could not relate to anyone. He made 0 adjustments and completely played to the defense's weaknesses (3-4) we had decent pass rushing lineman but 0 size to run a 3-4 and he could not get it through his head that it wouldn't work. He had that division 3 type of try hard attitude that a lot of guys just didn't understand. Yes i am trying hard coach but I'm a 245 pound d end that you are forcing to play nose!!!! did you think it would work?? I knew it spring ball our defense would be awfull  because of him. We had enough players to at least be avg (campbell, walker, josh moore,)

On a side note prince's favorite line was calling everyone "mentally weak and uncoachable". He would literally call everyone this and it became a running joke. Also he once wrestled Courtney Herndon inside the locker room after practice. (prince won). also came thisclose to fighting Reggie Walker in a spring practice. Also the louisville game 3am running really happened.(defense, dlineguy was extra tired!)I still think he needs to get into politics and stop the mind games otherwise known as his coaching. LONG LIVE BILL

I doubt he would leave early (kansas kid, diehard emaw, loves hibachi hut, etc). It is dlineguy's opinion that  he is our best olineman- he cleans up on the second level. However if i was an nfl scout lucas would be hard to ignore ( built like loadholt with great arm length).

I had to hear 6 months straight about how crist is so awesome and 5 star and hes huge with an amazing arm and blah blah blah- when it came to crunch time he threw the ball up for grabs and ducked instead of standing tall and taking the hit. THAT WAS STRAIGHT CHICKENSH!T and the ku players shoulda jumped all over his ass in the locker room. Cats are gonna destroy this squak.
