The team shot 36% on FGs and under 20% on 3s, and you think they looked better than you expected?  Damn, you had some low expectations.

Is it true Beckman got a 16 on his ACT?  That's both hard and not hard to believe.

Yeah, Khan is/was a Guenther supporter.  He's not going to do a damn thing to help us out, the sob.

storm I know you got me ONCE on the facts, and you are justly proud of that.  But let's get one thing straight here:

When Self's players account for over 68% of the minutes and over 72% of the points scored for that 2006 team, only an idiot would claim that's weber's team.

Can we agree on that?  Good.

storm is excoriating the always angry too cool for schoolers.

Not really.  And he's making stuff up.

weber didn't finish 2nd twice with mostly his own players.  He did it once.  He did, however, finish 9th twice with his own players.

weber's an inarticulate, insecure rube who can't recruit or manage a big-time program and that's why he's not a top 50 coach.  Using 5 year rolling periods, with his own players, weber had the 13th worst 5 year period in Illinois history (his last 5 years).  That's out of 100 or so such periods.  He was in the 13th percentile.

That sucks.

Frank beat 3 Top 10 teams with essentially a year younger team, and won a game in the NCAA on top of it. I think he would have done alright with the team last year.

Dude, I'm the opposite of a tuck.  But now I've got doubts about you.

Guys, clue me in.  I know what a tuck is, but I don't know the etymology of the tuck usage.

Thanks dude, but I'm not worthy.  You guys are like the Babe Ruths of funny here.  I'm not even September call up material.

Guys, I'm a little worried.  If we land Snider or Alexander, Groce will face the spectre of "winning too much too soon".

Hilarious.  Just so rough ridin' perfect.  Really great stuff, bud.

Everything weber touches eventually goes to crap.

Is it coincidence that this year the Big 12 was the worst it's been in a long time?
Is it coincidence that the last 6 years weber was in the Big 10, that the conference stunk?

I think not.

He made your posting stink (as in smells bad, real bad).

That hurts man, considering we're on the same side and all.  Dude, I feel for you, not like that prick Okcyclone.

That Van Vleet kid was pretty nails for a freshman.  Thanks, weber, for recruiting Orris over him.

crap everyone want to be around a winner.  You know what I'm saying.  Only a weird mothereffer doesn't want to hang with a winner.  And eff him anyway.  Man bitches are going to be all up in your junk, like you got a custom-made cocaine helmet for it.  Even those white-hot bitches who wouldn't give you the time of day before?  crap, they'll be falling too, like frickin sinners when the preacher puts his hand on their heads and screams, "You are saved!"

And then the best thing, when you look at that trembling bitch and ask, "in the butt?"  What's she going to say?  What's she going to say?  "Put my ass to sleep!!!"

Hell yes!

We're cool.

eff off Bread.  You started the same way on this board.  Fat eff.

Bread is right on this being a great board.  Maybe the best board I've come across since the early days of The Goat Pen.  If you guys got EarthDog Fred here, holy crap, I can't imagine.  I'd like to be involved, but I can't reconcile wanting the best for you guys and my hatred of weber.  Just don't change.  Don't ever change.

Thanks for screwing things up for me guys.  Yeah.  I wanted to come here once the season started and just simmer in my oscar hatred.  I thought it would be easy peasy.  But no.  You guys had to be cool.  I'm in a quandary now, I don't want to see you guys hurting, and I don't want weber to succeed.  You can understand how this is affecting me.  Oh, I can still sleep; it's not that bad, but it's bad.  I think I'll just have to play it by ear.  When you're mad, I'll be mad.  When you're pissed, I'll be pissed.  When you're hating, oh, I'll be hating.  I've got your back.  Just let me know.

Good morning.  I had to spend some of the morning chewing out a Scout board poster who claimed he was happy Self left.

Now, getting back to weber, all I'm doing is warning that it will probably be painful once weber gets his own guys in here.  But you guys are funny and tough.  That'll get you through this.

I noticed that weber has already laid the groundwork to blame offensive shortcomings on Martin.  I did some research in case I needed to back up a claim of mine that Wisconsin's offense under Ryan was pretty solid, if boring.  So I was looking at Kenpom's efficiency ratings.  Well one thing lead to another and I also looked at our (Illini) offensive eff ratings under weber and now I looked at KSU's offensive ratings under Martin.

Here's what I found:

Offensive Efficiency Rank  Illini  KSU
2006-2007                      111  71
2007-2008                        83  20
2008-2009                        98  65
2009-2010                        65  13
2010-1011                        33  47
2011-2012                       126  53

Okay, Martin didn't coach the 2006-2007 team.  But I think you get the drift.   The only reason for weber to point out that KSU needs to improve offensively is to have a fall back in case your team performs like a weber-coached offense.  I will say weber's pretty good at covering his shortcomings before hand.

You got to know your enemy, so I hope this helps.  Remember, we Illini fans have been through this and we're on your side.

Why was Weber's whole family at his crap canning press conference? Why did you dumbasses put up with Weber for so long without organizing largescale riots? Why does everyone try to kill each other in Chicago? TIA

Some tried.  We had an evil AD.

Because it's the smart thing to do?  Seeing as how he didn't have anything to do with putting those first 3 teams together?  And because the last 6 years were teams he built?

Oh, I made a mistake.  That was for conference play.  Overall, the last 6 years under weber was the 80th worst 6 year period out of 102 6 year periods.  That's bottom fifth.

Groce will have to overcome weber's last 6 years--which were the 11th worst 6 year period in Illinois history, out of 102 6 year periods.

But I think he can do it.

why did you pick 6 years you asshat, what about his full body of work, plus he went to a national championship as you conveniently leave out.
