Howard is an overrated recruiter.  Bill Self is the main reason Kansas will continue to be a top 10 program.

Guys, I'm a little worried.  If we land Snider or Alexander, Groce will face the spectre of "winning too much too soon".

LOL

Illinois doing well this year is a talking point against oscar. He did terribly with them last year. Now some coach from Ohio goes in there and gets them in the top 10.

"Bubble" oscar had decent players at Illinois in Brandon Paul, DJamer Richardson, Tracy Abrams, Meyers Leonard, etc.  The fact is these players I mentioned are made for a system that let's them get out and run - like Groce is doing with them now.  I am an Illinois fan, and I can point out the negatives - Illinois doesn't have great on the ball defenders.  They are prone to give up the dribble drive against guards/wings that are solid with the ball.  If you have defenders that can't stop the dribble drive, what do you do as a coach?  You use zone defenses, like Groce has done many times this year.  oscar was too stubborn to change, and this is why I consider him a bad coach.  All the great coaches in basketball adjust to the type of players they've assembled.  oscar won't do that.

The scariest part is that the only real success oscar has had has been in year 1 with someone else's players. If there was any reason for optimism going into this season based on oscar's track record it was this. The talking point favored on other boards that we need to wait until oscar gets his own guys in here is not based in reality. It's going to get worse. Much, much worse.

Unfortunately, your right.

I feel for all you KSU fans!

This coach is going to set your program back years.

I due need to tell all of you that I will make it a point to watch Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks make "Bubble" oscar look like it's his first basketball game he's ever coached, when the two teams meet.

QUESTION:  Why isn't Weber winning immediately like he did at Illinois?

ANSWER: Weber does not have NBA talent like he did with his first Illinois team.

QUESTION:  Why did Weber fail to maintain a talent level at Illinois that was capable of merely producing winning records at a prestigious basketball school with a major city in his backyard?

ANSWER:  Well, he did, but he ran out of time, they are winning under the new coach at Illinois.

See, he CAN recruit and he CAN win when he has good players!
If we have the patience to wait half a decade, we will be rewarded, right?

All the decent players Weber landed at Illinois was due to the fact he had Jerrance Howard on his staff.  It isn't a surprise Jerrance is landing players at SMU for Larry Brown.

BTW, how do you KSU fans like Michael Orris?  LOL

 , OK

There are many posters at all the Illinois boards like yourself - too stupid to realize the truth.  You're already Weberized!

Guys honestly after watching the presser I think he can do some good things, if we are absolutely awful this year then I will start hating on him.. but for now I'm just gonna support him.

Don't fall for it!  Weber is going to kill what you have in Manhattan.  His style of play is going to piss mnay of you off.  And wait till you see the players he recruits - LOL - sorry, better he is in Manhattan than Champaign!

This may and probably is true, yes. But I wanna give him a chance to prove himself before I hate on him.

He has already proven himself a massive failure at this level.  He doesn't need another chance to prove this failure-ness.

That's like adopting Cujo and giving him to your kids because he needed a change of scenery from the farm.

He was a failure at Illinois, okay but I feel like if Underwood does stay and he gets a good recruiter he'll be fantastic which is why I want to give him chance. But ya never know, if he were to lose players and or Underwood I will immediately be off team weber.

I'm warning you now, do not get on team Weber!

Weber can't recruit, it's that simple.  He had major recruiting issues at Illinois, and it will be even worse at a place like KSU.

I'm glad there is no video. oscar Weber is Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) looking.

Give it time, because the way Weber talks is going to annoy the hell out of you.

Don't have emoticons at your board?

We do, but not like these.

You guys have a right to be pissed.  I don't wish Weber on anyone!

    You got oscar Weber

Me and my fellow Illini basketball fans are  to the fact oscar "mid major" Weber is no longer the coach at Illinois!  I  :dunno: why many believe he is a good coach.  I  he would have worked out at Illinois, but he  :flush: the Illini program down the drain.  You all will learn that Weber has the personality of a wet noodle.  Many of you will want to do this  :barf: after what he is going to do to your program.  After awhile many of you will be attending KSU basketball games like this  :opcat:.  Weber will make you want to  :drink:  your KSU basketball sorrows away.  After everything Weber says you'll be doing this  :jerk:, but many will .  You will be doing this  :bang: when you see the players he's going to bring in -  - sorry, I can't stop myself from .  I hope none of you take the  :bait:, because he is going to kill your  :kstatriot: basketball program.  It's going to get so bad under Weber, that he will drive you to  :bartender: or :bigtoke:!  And wait till he  :driving: bus over the players.  you'll want to find weber's house and take a  :bs: on his front yard.  Have fun with him  :ksu: fans!
