They should rename it Bubbles in honor of oscar Weber.

Illinois fans get on my nerves.  Taking oscar Weber out of the equation, I have yet to find many fan bases with such a delusional pedestal for their program.

They had a few really nice years with Self (and Weber).  Other than that, historically, we're pretty much on par with them, and in a lot of ways, better.

Anyway, that's all.
hmmmm, first 3 I came across on google...

and according to Sagarin, it's not that close really....

Do you really have to argue that Illinois is better than KSU on a KSU board?  They are nice enough allowing us to come on here to warn them of Weber.  I would think it would be respectful to just leave it at though.

Let's get back to pointing about Weber's faults, how he refuses to acknowledge them, and how it looks like he is going to repeat them.

Queue the music "It's only just begun..."

I've seen some recent comments warming up to Weber....Are more and more KSU fans getting on board with Weber?

Orris is the next coming of Trent Meacham http://www.fightingillini.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/meacham_trent00.html

He is a little too short to be the next coming of Bill Cole http://www.fightingillini.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/cole_bill00.html

I'm choosing to believe he's the next Aaron Craft.

UNCANNY!

Only difference is Craft was developed by Matta and Co. and Orris will be developed by Weber and Co.  That's one big GD difference.

2012 is the weakest class coming out of the state of Illinois since the Middle Ages.  I don't think Orris is even in the top 10 of that list.

Kansas State Basketball is hard / Local KSU newspaper for Weber ad
« on: April 09, 2012, 10:35:17 PM »
To all of the non-tucks, some of my fellow Illini fans would like to take out an ad in a local paper "Thanking" oscar Weber for his time at Illinois and to repay him for kindness in taking out a local ad in our paper.  Is there a local paper or other local publication that would allow us to make a clean, yet humorous ad?

6
Illini fan here.  I dont know anything about this guy.  Judging by the guy with 100 flush icons, not happy.  Is this a good hire by Bubbles?  Can you give me the inside scoop?

Our single inbounds play for the past 5 years.  You guys wont have an inbounds play.  Just be happy if the ball is thrown in on your side of the court.
Offense designed to never get uncontested shots.  Bubbles loves the last second contested 3.
Player suspensions in the middle of the year for undisclosed reasons.  Got  a point here.
Bigs missing numerous layups from under the basket.  They wont get the ball.
Constant drama surrounding the players and coaches both on and off the court.  Good here, just you guys are going to hate the tucks even more.
F-Bombs.  He cant talk by the end of the game.  Church going ice cream eating dog walkers dont cuss.
Hitting players.  Good here, except when he pulls them back into the huddle.
Shitty substitution patterns.  LOL.  No subs.  All the good freshmen are glued to the bench.  Good ready for upperclassmen to play just because they have more "experience."
Wasted timeouts to scream at players.  Bubbles only calls timeouts to stop a run - - wait for it -- that KSU will make.  Nobody understands this.
Players threatening to transfer.  Only talented freshmen because they are not playing. This is piling on, you guys are probably ok here.
"I'm not saying I wouldn't listen, I only get paid 1.1 million"  - Good here, Bubbles is too "humble"
Players being thrown under the bus in press conferences. Que music.... "It's only just begun..."
Will hearing from his head coach, "I hope you burn up in your house when it catches fire. You are terrible and should be asking for a release to go to D2!"  OK, you guys are safe there.

Honestly, at this point the Illinois fan hate is making me like him more.

Dont think the hate for Weber is because we want to see you fail.

I enjoy college basketball and like watching good basketball.

I come in peace and want to give you guys a good understanding of what to expect.  He was here for 9 years.  He should have been gone after 4-5.  I dont want to see another fan base go through what we did.  The sooner he is gone, the better for you.  Too many people at Illinois fell for the dog and pony show for far too long.    It was a miserable experience.

Jordan Henriquez – “Jordan has a lot of ability. He hit a couple threes yesterday. I didn’t know he had that in his bag of tricks. I asked him if he ever did any pick-and-pops, and he said, ‘No, they just had me driving to the hoop, but I can do that stuff.’ He made some shots, so that was positive.”

KSU fans.  Warning:  This is where the destruction begins.  Illinois had no guys getting to the hoop the last 6 years under Weber.  They passed the ball around the perimeter doing pick and pops for 30 seconds before someone would take a hail mary 3.  The last game Illinois played, they did not shoot 1 free throw.  Sadly, this was not the only time this happened under Bubbles.

I always thought it was because they didnt have the talent but here I see a player telling Bubbles he just gets to the hoop and Bubbles ask if he can do pick and pops!   :chainsaw:

Weber is not a good person.  This is the biggest falsehood out there (other than the fact people also call him a good coach)

When NIT Bubbles (AKA oscar Weber) repeatedly says he is the only coach to take Illinois to the NC game, it makes him look arrogant. A humble person would never say this. I gave him the benefit of the doubt the first time but I've heard him repeat it so it made it realize it is part of his talking points, not just a one-off thing that popped into his Bubble brain. What makes it worse is he did it with Self's players.

The question of whether he is arrogant or humble was finally answered for me for good when he said he had the best 9 year stretch of Illinois basketball.  This is an arrogant statement and also a LIE.  See page 5 of Illini thread for proof http://forums.illinihq.com/topic/23780-weber-on-espn-1000/page__st__80

P.S.  Weber also had a kid almost die in a DUI wreck and one of his assistants tried to cover it up.  It all goes to the top.  Don't let Weber hoodwink the tucks!

Another oscar weber press conference

1. Mentions losing close games
2. ESPN said we could still be in the tournament, we still control our own destiny.  Kids felt good seeing we still could make it.  First we have to get some wins, first we have to get 1 win, it will help if Nebraska is the first win (lol, that didnt happen)

3. (Classic)  "I'm Brilliant"  at 13:15 (oops, that didnt happen)
4. Throws Meyers under the bus right after the I'm brilliant comment.
5.  I've done a lot of good things, lose Jamar, lose Chester, lose Richmond after one year, Sam gets hurt (sam was a 5th year transfer from Bradley which Weber relied on as a PG since he didn't recruit one in 6 years)

and the best

6. "the most rewarding thing has been HUNDREDS of letters from fans showing support..."

no, no, wait - this is the best part.

Q:  What do you say to the people that say you lost high percentage of fan base

A;  I went to a high school game in (city in nowhere), the AD let us at the door because he had to get me in and said you are going to be surprised Coach when you walk in.  This was last Friday,  PEOPLE CHANTED MY NAME.. they had to escort me to a seat.  After the game, I signed autographs and took pictures for 25 minutes, I could have stayed for an hour, there were still people there.  The AD said Coach has to get on the plane tomorrow tomorrow to Michigan.  BUT when you dont win and compete for championships every year, you are going to lose some fan but we still have a great fan base.  We have got 100 emails, only 1 was bad and guess what, that guy didn't put a return email name on it...

Q:  did you think about resigning

A;  Im not going to answer, what has happened?  WE ARE 16-10 and have had more close games than anyone in the country!  :barf:

I have to stop listening.  It is bringing back too many bad memories.  Fire Currie now.  As an Illini fan, I will donate $5 to your cause to fly a banner at your football game with that message.  I wanted to enjoy watching oscar Weber tank another program but after seeing how knowledgeable and passionate your fan base, I will not be able to enjoy it.  I am sad for you guys.  FIRE CURRIE now.

KState didn't just get Weber (Bubbles).  This is a package deal.  KState also will be receiving Jay Price and Pimp Daddy McClain.  And hopefully, Bubbles prized recruiting class.

You mean the Jay Price that recruited Meyers Leonard?

And by the way, in case you didn't know, Illinois has owned almost every single southern Illinois recruiting battle.

There was no recruiting battle for Meyers.  He is from a small poor town south of U of I.  He was a skinny point guard before he hit a freak growth spurt.  He wanted to go to Illinois.  He got signed right before he hit the radar.  As of today, not one guy that signed with Weber has played a second in the NBA.

LOL.  Please take all of them and the 2012 class.

And the best part for us (worst part for KSU),  KSU will also be receiving PurpleKrush117.  He either is related to Weber or has a mental issue and isn't taking medicine.  His love for oscar Weber is creepy.

P.S.  We call him Bubbles because he will take you to the NCAA Bubble, then once he gets his own recruits, he will take you to the NIT Bubble.  Not sure if you guys will accept an invite to play in the CBI tourney, we didn't.
