So none other than THE Bryce Brown showed up to the Y to play with us tonight. Couple of notes:

- Obviously in-shape and said he had been training for the NFL. Said he had worked out for a couple of teams and seemed optimistic a team would take a chance on him on the second day.
- He was sporting the weirdest hair-do I have ever seen. Here's the closest picture I could find:

- He was the best player on the court all night. And Wednesday night is the night all of the former players come out, so he had some good competition but he was still the best. He can easily dunk, but doesn't go to the rim very much. Stays around the perimeter a lot and tries to shake his man. Takes a lot of ridiculous shots but he was making them, so can't criticize. He won all four games that he played in when I was there.
- Didn't get a fair assessment of his EMAW levels, but assumed very low considering he did not compliment/outwardly acknowledge my K-State shorts or purple shoes.
- My team won the two games after he left.

I'll say this after playing without MIR on Sunday: I now will never take our pick-n-roll friendship for granted. I look forward to dishing to a cutting MIR for buckets until defenses collapse on him and I kick out to Trim to make it rain from 3-point land. #TeamStrutNCut

Looking forward to re-creating more back-door alley-oop lobs to Johnny Wichita coming off MIR screens. Get that on camera and it's a Top 10 play of the week for pick-up basketball.

A couple of more questions/thoughts/rants after tonight's games at the Y here in Wichita:

* At the Northwest Y, we always play full-court games to 15 on 1's and 2's. Elsewhere, it's seems split on going to 11 and 15. I've always preferred 15 because some guy going unconscious for 3 or 4 shots won't completely sink you. Curious on other's thoughts on this one.

* In one of the games tonight, there was a pretty controversial play. The ball went out of bounds and while someone else retrieved it, I asked the guy I was guarding what the score was. He didn't know, and asked the guy next to him. Nobody knew, but this was just on the left-side of the court. Meanwhile, the ball had apparently been checked in up top and the other team scored an easy basket because half of us were trying to figure out the score. They ended up counting it. I'm not too outspoken on the court, but personally thought this was completely bogus. This ever happen to anyone else? Keeping track of score seems to always be a problem.

* One last question. Say there are 3 players waiting to play on the sideline. Everyone on the losing team is staying and wants to play again. Do you guys usually have the group of 3 pick which two on the losing team they want to play with, or have the losing 5 shoot for the final two spots? Also, some kid got screwed tonight shooting for the final 2 because the 1st and 4th guy made their first shot and he didn't even get to shoot and had to sit out. Felt bad for him. But not too bad, because we kept winning.

Hey guys, first time poster here, long time reader. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread, but have a question that has yet to be addressed.

Okay, so me and my buddy go to the Y here in Wichita all the time. My buddy is virtually a 5-foot-11 Thomas Gipson, complete with the ridiculous amount of sweat. I'm more of a guard type and enjoy running the pick and roll with him, and I find my defenders absolutely despise running through his picks of sweaty sweat. I have suggested that during games he take his shirt off, so defenders are even less likely to try to fight through screens. He is a nice guy and is reluctant to inflict that kind of grossness on others.

So I guess my question to you, experienced ballers of goEMAW, is it wrong to use my friend's sweatiness as an advantage or fair game?

TIA.
