Any insidery info on our super secret scrimmage victory?

I like that vandy/mizzou under!

Some of the ones I'm pondering....

KU +2.5  WVU took a shot to the gut with that loss last week and are probably still dragging their dicks in the dirt after blowing the PITT game.  KU just lost to UNLV....they've already forgotten about that.

Michigan Under 44.5.  I think Michigan will try to throw the ball less than 10 times this game and keep USC offense off the field.

Okie St Under 53.5.  With the line moving from Utah -2.5 to +2.5, sure seems like the Utah QB will be out.  Feels like this could be a rock fight.

Oklahoma Under 56.5.  OU defense is really good, not sold on their offense.  Tennessee looked amazing the first three weeks, but really hasn't played anyone.  Could be a shock to the Tennessee system and take them a half to warm up the offense against an actual defense.

Indiana -28.5  Charlotte sucks...Indiana might be the best value play right now, taking the place of UNLV.

KU threw their mid-week starter with a 5+ ERA and we scored 1 run. After that, they threw  mediocre arms until the 9th when they put in their closer and we still couldn't plate more than 1 run - largely because our situational hitting is terrible (10 LOBs).

We threw our bad mid-week starter for 3 innings and then our best pen guys the rest of the way. And, we still lost.

We'll face WVU or TCU tomorrow (we lost the series to both 1-2). The only way we don't lose is if Boerma throws a gem and/or the sleepy bats we've had for the last month wake up.

Lose tomorrow and it'll be surprising if we make the tourney because we'll likely have an RPI in the 50s and three of the four other Big 12 bubble teams (Cincy, TCU, UCF) will have better RPIs with KU potentially surpassing us as well.

From the fun fact department - it would be interesting to know if an NCAA head coach has ever had at least one player who would become a first round draft pick on his teams for five straight years and fail to reach the NCAA tourney a single time. In Hughes' case, it's 2019 & 2021 (Wicks - no tourney in 2020) and 2022, 2023, 2024 (likely Culpepper).

Our RPI isn't going to be in the 50s.  We've been in the middle 30s for 2 months.

Dan Hurley….that has to be at the top of the list.

I am of course very biased and thinking with my heart, but I can’t see Tang being on their radar with only two years of head coaching experience.  If he had gone to the elite 8 again, then probably, but I think the sting of Billy Gillispie still lingers.

The only coaches that would satisfy those nut jobs are Jay Wright and Bill Self and that isn’t happening.  Maybe Billy Donovan.

15
Now Calipari to Arkansas?  Did not see that coming.  Who is Kentucky gonna hire?  I don’t think there is a name big enough for them.  I’d say Nate Oates, but he just extended at Bama.

I hate coaching carousels…..

Like what are people saying???

There are some real shitbirds on Twitter. I’m not talking like Garth’s cringe. I mean emaw Caleb and Steve something just always ragging on tang and how we’ll be better off if he leaves or he’s an awful coach. They crap on Perry nonstop too. I blocked them, but they’re there. rough ridin' terrible shits.

Every fan base has shitty people.  Ours are no shittier than the rest.

Reported that his sister tweeted "It's a great day to be a Wildcat." Anybody follow her?

That was hours ago before Beard dropped out.  Didn’t mean anything.

rumblings that the leverage play is not for more salary but nil money

To get more fans to donate or to get a higher percentage of the NIL pie?

We’re gonna have to rename this thread again, aren’t we?

Oklahoma opted out along with Pittsburgh, St John's, Indiana to name a few.  Portal opens tomorrow.

Not sure how Cincinnati merits a 2 seed, and we're not seeded.

I would like to know how many of those teams actually received invitations.  Indiana is in the 90s in NET.....there is no way they had a bid to turn down.

Not that it matters at all, but how can you not add time there at the end?  It was so obvious that there should be 2.5 seconds left.  What was the reasoning?

Time would only be added in that case if the ball was still in the offense's hand at the time of the violation. Since the clock expired while the ball was in the air, the possession ends when the shot is complete. In this case it's when the ball hits the floor since no one touched the ball before then. Essentially you can't have a shot clock violation if the ball is in fight.

Makes sense, TY.

Is this UCF team better or worse than the 2012-13 TCU team a really good KU lost at several years ago?

Kind of similar situations situations, as that was also TCU’s first year in the Big 12, I believe. That TCU team would finish Big 12 play at 2-16. KU shared the conference with us at 14-4 in oscar’s first season.

That was an odd stretch of three-straight losses for KU, which they subsequently ended by blowing us out at the piss barn.

That TCU team was waaayyyy worse.  215 kenpom ranking.  UCF is currently 79.
