No more than two teams from any one conference may receive berths in BCS games unless two non-champions from a BCS conference finish as the top two teams in the final BCS standings, in which case they will meet in the National Title Game while their conference champion will play in their conference's BCS bowl game.

Win or lose K State benefit's playing a top 10 team like Arkansas. Stop bitching your lucky to be here, Arkansas are the ones who get the shaft by that stupid BCS rule. Were the ones who should be wondering if playing K-State hurts OUR program. Arkansas fans were really dissapointed by having to play in the Cotton Bowl......Now, that is not the case. This page has given us a reason to want to play K State, to show you people what SEC football is all about.

It's really not a fair match-up when comparing states.

Arkansas just has too many advantages. Billionaires, hot women, gorgeous scenery, and Bobby MFing Petrino.

Kansas is a good trucking route, I'll give you that. Trying to think of something else good though...

Ark is so, so poor.

poor? how can you say that when we have more millionaires per capita than any state besides California....we do have the biggest retailer in the world 30minutes away from where I live....hey at least Kansas has Jayhawks basketball

I think KState has a real good chance of becoming an independent in 2013, when the BCS contract is expired.  We have our own network, a rabid fan base, and our football program brings in more money than any other program than Notre Dame.  Who needs the Big 12 when you're this filthy rich?  

Where are guys getting your info, Espn just said this past weekend that Texas brings in more money than the entire big 12 by a long shot....

3-1 lifetime against them. that's a .750 winning percentage fellas. no wonder they are all methed out and angry. our little hillbilly cousin is just lashing out at their sophisticated big city older cousin that smells better, is better looking and beats them in everything while still managing to spell correctly in the process. nothing new here. we've seen it before many times. i say we cut them some slack.

You pronounce it the same way as Kansans just with an 'ar' sound at the begining....you guys are really dumb, trying to make us seem stupid when you ripped off part of our name and then procede to pronounce it mumped up....no wonder no one knows who K State is

As a south Carolina fan with the fourth ranked defense in the country behind four more sec defenses let me tell you Arkansas destroyed us and put up very respectable numbers on lsu and bama.   And we have the second ranked passing defense behind only Alabama. You will be lucky to get out of Dallas fort worth alive. Give arky. 1 quarter and you all will be thinking the same thing ."we aren't in Kansas anymore"

Is the Walmart guy an arKansas alum?  Friend of mine visited that school (on a dare) and he said the student union was a Walmart.  True story.

Haha. Kansas state. What a joke. You guys are gonna get crushed. Everyone knows the big 12 is terrible. Haha if they lose I'm sure it will be nothing new. The greatest athlete in karate history is measly Beasley and all he does is smoke pot and go to rehab. The Miami cold didn't even want that cancer on their team. Darren sproles is built like many of the men from Kansas. Including my methods professor Doug George who is a kstate grad that admitted to the entire class this morning that kstate fans have much "little brother" syndrome as a result of the frequent beat downs  they receive from their jay hawks neighbors. Mr George claims to be from Colby, Kansas and says that it is a fine place if you don't mind jerking off to Victoria secret magazines behind the chevron station after basketball practice on a snowy winters eve. Just saying.

Y'all do realize who you're playing right? You guys are playing the #6 ranked University of Arkansas Razorbacks. We're 10-2 and the third ranked team in the SEC. Arkansas has a giant fan base in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and is one of the most prominent football teams of today. We're in the top 5 for passing offense. You people from Kansas really need to get your facts straight.

To answer your question, since obviously you don't watch much college football at all, yes, playing Arkansas WILL hurt your image.

Let me explain.

While Kansas State plays mostly sub-par teams in an even more sub-par conference, Arkansas is playing 8-9 really good teams, mostly from the SEC. Kansas State beating Arkansas would be comparable to Mississippi State beating Alabama, not going to happen. Sorry to hurt your feelings, guys, but no one has even heard of Kansas State. Has Kansas State ever even been to a bowl game? I mean, I guess Kansas State has had some winning seasons, but with their schedule, a high school team (like Drew Central High School) could pull off a few winning seasons. Even if something crazy happened and Kansas State won the game, what would it prove? They have no REAL history of being a good, big team, and this will likely be one of the few bowl games in which they ever play. Arkansas, on the other hand, is in, by far, the most elite conference in college football. Not only that, but the same division  from which both #1 LSU and #2 Alabama also hail.

Look at it like this, Kansas State and Arkansas both have 2 losses. While Kansas state lost to two pretty good teams, Arkansas' only losses were to the two teams playing in the National Championship. Kansas State is lucky that even got the bowl bid they did, while Arkansas had to accept a much less prestigious bowl than they should have, because of a rule that only allows two SEC teams to participate in BCS bowl games. What that means, since I can tell by reading some of these posts that I may need to explain myself very thoroughly and speak in very simple terms for these Kansas State fans, is that Kansas state is earned their spot, and are very happy to have been chosen for the Cotton Bowl. Arkansas, however, should be playing in a BCS bowl game, but had to settle for the Cotton Bowl.

Arkansas fans, be easy on these guys. They truly are ignorant, and have no idea what real college football is all about. They think that Kent State, Eastern Kentucky, Miami (FL), Kansas, Texas A&M, and Iowa State are REAL, WORTHY opponents. They have finally somehow earned a bowl game, and they want to be excited about it and run Arkansas down. It's the classic "trailer park trash wins the lottery and tries to act like they are not trailer trash anymore" syndrome. It will be resolved about 10 minutes into the game on January 6th when they realize that they aren't playing the buttercup teams they played during their season. The previous post by "oldy hawg" pretty much sums it all up. Kansas State has a horrible overall record, not even close to .500 (for K-state fans, .500 is a decimal number that represents your team winning at least half of their games), while Arkansas, who just through the stats alone has a much, much more prestigious program, clocks in well over .500.

As for all the negativity and Kansas State fans putting down Arkansas, I have to laugh at it, and you guys should to. Because honestly, I have been to Kansas, and if any of you guys have, then that is all I have to say. As far as the talk about the razorbacks, stupidity, and missing teeth- I would have to say that Kansas State has the same problems: Kansas State is playing the RAZORBACKS in the Cotton bowl, it is just plain STUPIDITY that they think they even have a chance, and once their smaller, slower, and underfunded football program gets on the field with a REAL TEAM, K-State's players will likely be missing a few teeth.

You know playing Arkansas WILL hurt your program, you guys really dont stand a chance against a team like ours. The only teams that have any respect from the BIG 12 are Texas and Oklahoma. K-State and the rest of them should be playing High School teams. Far too much crap talking from the joke that is your sports program. This particular thread is being passed around the state of Arkansas faster than your mothers were in High School. Now our news media is laughing at you too....so sad

Oh and by the way calling us racists is pretty rough ridin' stupid since this forum has a KKK avatar, thats pretty lame....suck it up guys, and get used to ass kickings!!! Go Hogs!
