In reading the KBOR projected capital projects list for the previous FY through FY 2031.

K-State says they'd like to do about $1.3 billion in construction and renovations over that period.

Only one small project listed for K-State Athletics - the 2nd phase of the indoor track which will be new offices and dressing rooms (probably).

So, as this moment in time, Athletic Niles and Frazier Crane are on injured reserve until further notice.  Niles and Frazier's cousins are elsewhere on campus right now, tho.

That money just shifted to athletes instead of facilities.

Seems like Baylor is struggling as well and have turned their entire roster over.

I think Mammoth does a lot of work in state. I think they did my high school field a few years back. Too bad they suck.

They do work throughout the Midwest and are big with Div 2 schools.  I know they are taking on some new adventures like another Top Golf/Pickle Ball knock off.  They want to build 20+ nationwide.

For those that haven't seen it, they're installing the new fields

K-State moved pretty quick on this, they must not have been at all pleased with the Field Turf, which as mentioned had only been in for 3 years in all 3 facilities . . . well short of the usual life expectancy.

Do they have a webcam or anything?

Who is installing/providing the new turf?  In the past they had a contract with Mammoth.

As far as the video boards go, they usually have 5-year warranties from Daktronics.  Dak traditionally has had the market for outdoor video walls with a direct sell to the end-user model, but they do not have the best quality product.  Each wall usually comes with 10-15% spares for swapping out bad boards.  At this point I would assume the walls are ready to get upgraded due to lack of spares and the brightness of the LEDs are ~30% less from its original brightness.

A bit mind boggling how bad the offense was last night.  Mahomes had no composure and zero trust in his OL.  Great season, though.  This team will look very different next year.

Yea since like 1988 or something.

Last year's Super Bowl had record 123.4 million viewers.  This AFC Championship being 50% of that is amazing.  We are America's team (for the lovers and the haters).

With Portal being a thing now, how relevant is JUCO football?  Is it going to die?

Yeah. No way any of them are able to keep any of their players for more than 2 years now.
:surprised:

It is unfortunate for teams who make the playoffs.  Playoffs won't stop kids from entering the portal due to that semester enrollment deadline.  It's a flawed system.

I don't know...this portal thing is really starting to make college athletics not as fun.  I'm having a hard time getting attached to athletes like I would in the past because my brain tells me they won't be around long.  It seems impossible for coaches to create a positive locker room environment when half or more of your team turns over every year.  I keep hearing if kids don't get playing time or NIL $ they expect they become pain in the ass all season.  Most of these kids bitching about NIL money haven't performed to deserve it and end up entering the portal to find more money and still don't perform and deserve it.  A lot of these players don't develop like they should because they bounce around.  Kids don't want to stay at a program to accept the development.

The best QB in the league is a kid that was no longer wanted at a major program because they had to ensure their freshman blue chip started.  The freshman ended up sucking, program had its worst record in 20 years, and the QB that got forced out is probably going to play for a National Championship.

It's a rough ridin' mess.  Add in the ESPN/SEC/big 10 love affair and it's really killing my interest.

I'm going to do this new thing where I just expect good things and he's sticking with us and other positive stuff. Evolution ya'll.

I think this is the best path forward whether good things happen or not.  I've certainly observed that being super negative on the Twitters isn't going to help (but could hurt).  People tend to forget we're talking about 17- or 18-year-old kids who still have years for their brain to reach maturity (researchers say male brain does not fully mature until the ages of 25-30).

Once FAU is engaged, he seems to do really well.  The speed off the snap is downright awful.  Seems like he's not looking at the ball but instead looking at the offensive line movement.

I was just sitting in a park at lunch and was asked to be interviewed by Salem News Channel about the presidential election and declined. I am torn as to whether or not I made the right decision.

https://salemnewschannel.com/

Oooohhhh, that reminds me. Remember in Huggy's first year when some student's threw chickens on the court at the KU game? The local Topeka/Manhattan news did a segment on that and interviewed some students about how PETA was throwing a fit about it being cruel... I was walking to class, saw some TV camera's and asked them what's up.

I made it on the local news and had a banger quote to end the segment something along the lines of "Is it cruel? I don't think its cruel, no crueler than having a 1000 chickens in a little chicken cage laying eggs all their life. Which is worse, throwing chickens on the court or having them make egg McMuffins for you?."

Free range court chickens are the best.

I am still rooting for UT to outspend and out win the entire SEC. Horns up for me.

Yea I don't necessarily disagree.  Bama is down and Georgia is not 2021/2022 Georgia.  SEC is open for Texas to own it.  In parallel I want to see OU become irrelevant.

If he makes the secondary double team him then that means guys like Kelce, Gray, and Worthy have some space.

Tyreek a little jealous? Think teams are calling Miami?

Moore being on the field at this point is a joke.  Everyone opposing team knows Mahomes won't throw to him at this point.

There we have it.  Welcome to the team, Hopkins.  My guess is JuJu will go on 4 week IR.

Yeah, let’s use some more draft picks on wrs  :flush:

Chiefs should do whatever they think it will take to be the first team in history to win 3 straight.  Maybe that is blow a 3rd rounder pick on Tyreek, or maybe it is to stay where they are at.  I truly have no rough ridin' idea and will not be surprised with whatever decision they make.

Does the 3peat not count if you win the last leg of it running the ball a lot?

No sir!  You Tom Brady your way to a 3-peat! (running the ball/smart offense + amazing defense).

Listen, I don't disagree with you all that we need additional WR depth.  I think the Chiefs are going to Chiefs at this point and stick with what they have (mainly because I don't think there are many options and teams do not want to trade with them).  This is going to be the Kareem Hunt redemption season that will set the Chiefs up for their 3rd straight Super Bowl.

I would welcome Tyreek back with open arms and multiple draft picks, though.

Your definition of a major weapon and the Chiefs definition of a major weapon are two different things.  But 4 receptions for 66 yds is pretty good as a TE2.
