I would love to see us dump a crap load of $$$ into an Olympic sport (comparatively speaking) and become dominant in that sport. I don't even care what it is - just pick one and go all-in (times 10).

I mean, Youngstown State won the 2025 NCAA bowling championship. Their head coach makes $50,000 a year. We couldn't spend $1 million a year and completely own that? Same thing with rifle, beach volleyball (ocean adjacent TCU just won that), water polo, etc, etc.
Wrestling probably has the most local talent but lol @ the suggestion that it would draw more popularity than baseball

The more storied wrestling programs in this nation (Iowa, OSU, Penn State, NC State, Michigan) do it easily so it's not even a new precedent, especially considering our baseball team has not been historically that good. Hell, Iowa State averages over 6,500 at their home wrestling meets and drew over 14,000 when they hosted Iowa. Back when they had a baseball team, the best numbers I can find suggest an average attendance of 4,000 people. Nebraska regularly draws over 6,000 to wrestling and averages 4,500 to their baseball games. Mizzou averages over 3,000 for wrestling and 1,500 for home baseball games. Tointon still doesn't average over 2,000 for our home games in the last decade, and that number is above our historical average.

There is no evidence to indicate that if we were to become the only D1 wrestling program in the state that we would not follow a similar path to our regional counterparts and regularly have a higher attendance for wrestling than we would for baseball.
I admittedly do not have numbers to refute you but I still find the suggestion improbable.

Looks great but ranch dressing is an abomination. Scratch or no scratch.

Two small market teams?  Whoever wins, America loses
America wins as long as the Phoenix Suns aren't anywhere near the finals

Absolutely stoked for the Finals. Put $5 on the Pacers before the playoffs started to win the East and it cashed bigly. Who ya'll got in the Finals? OKC -9.5 for game 1 is insane. Pacers in 7.

Carne Adovada is the answer, shut the thread down.
Can confirm.

Imagine hearing repeatedly that tariffs could be a fluid situation and that tariffs could, with negotiations and trade deals be substantially reduced or eliminated altogether.

Then to start using phrases "chickens out" . . .  it only points to the fact that the majority of our society has the attention span and intellectual capacity of toddlers (at best).

Edit: Also    at using mediaite as your source . . . I mean

No pressure - so just go have fun.

I ain't holding my breath. But it's kind of dreamy to think about the possibility of sending Texas and Arkansas to the clubhouse in back to back years.

VanHorn has won a lot of games and hasn't delivered a CWS title. Texas actually offered Sclossnagle less money out of the gate then he was making at A&M, but that changes after next season when his salary jumps to nearly triple where he started at Texas and almost double what he made at Texas A&M. $2.65 million a year for a baseball coach, damn.

talk about an ideal result
hopefully our KU brothers can do the same to Arkansas again

Final Destination Bloodlines was a campy and wonderful delight

Not sure if correct thread but I think it's appropriate. Came home tonight faced after celebrating the Pacers W. Had leftover spaghetti (no sauce remaining). Decided to try my hand at some Cacio E Pepe and holy crap it was fantastic. Can't believe this is the first time I've tried it. Anyone else have any recs for leftover noods?

I'm a sucker and always put maximum tip on everything unless they really sucked.  :frown: KatKid is a notoriously bad tipper though in case anyone was wondering.

So now I'm trying to collect myself before my vacation in 10 days where I plan to do nothing but eat rich foods and booze my ass off.
Sounds fun. Where you headed?

Which pizza place has the best wings? I vote La Rocca's in Topeka, but also I've never gone out of my way to compare them.
Artego on 39th does the whole wing. They get my vote.

Because if you don't get the dried-out, crusty shitty tip of the wing, you ain't living.
LCWIQ from Spracne. Not shocked but still disappointed.

Anora - 5/7 it's fine and mikey madison played the character quite well but ugh, this is gen z pretty woman but instead of a charming richard gere we get an unlikable Russian douche and instead of a sweetheart hooker with a heart of gold we get a gullible dumbass.
LMAO the two are completely different movies, horrible take tbh

Different? Yes. Completely different? Lol no
the only similarities are rich guy and hooker get together. I'll make a similar comparison: Lion King and Lady and the Tramp are basically the same movie. Ridiculous.

i’m one of those cats who watches just a handful of regular season games but every playoff game and don’t understand how cleveland is the 1.  but that’s whatever. the west is so weak, that’s what i came here to say.

I’m the exact same nba fan.
