No chance for Jank, aka ex hubby of Jackie Hartman's (daughter of Jack Hartman) and current KSU Vice President of something or other. She also is current husband of big time donor Lee Borck.

He's an ass-kicking, retired 4-Star U.S. Air Force General who went to K-State and was interim president since Schultz left.

And he likes to eat at J.P.'s, the bar at Jardine.

He's not Sam Brownback. So that's good.

Just announced by Board of Regents.

Here's what I think: Riley Gates is like a freshman or sophomore in college. Why does he get to lecture me on supporting the Cats?  :dunno:

Hopefully Reid and Dave do lots of our games. I love love love those guys. My earliest KSU hoops memories involve Dave Armstrong Raycom games. :frown:

Yeah, I remember those Raycom days - watching on a 19-inch television, no less. I remember Fred White and Gary Thompson doing the last game in Ahearn...those were the days, my friends. I thought they'd never end... :bawl:

I think we've got a shot to win next year's National Championship. Can we put that up on our stadium?  :dunno:

Kansas State Football / Fatty - KSU's Durland Hall
« on: January 24, 2014, 04:12:04 PM »
Naturally, the online edition of the Manhattan Mercury doesn't have it loaded, but my print copy tonight has an article about the new Durland Hall Computer Lab, made possible by donations to the A Khatib family after Fatty's death, and his brother's.
Photo in the paper shows his great quote on the wall: "Good people deserve good things, if just for a day."
I didn't know him - feel like I did, however, after lurking here for years - but you guys at goEMAW.com helped add more than 20 new computers, chairs, 2 printers and work stations to our elite College of Engineering.
Good job, goEMAW. You all worked to make KSU a better place for students.

We had to wait 30 min. Worth the wait, especially to sit so close to Lowery and co.
It was a happy place, what with a Wildcat Victory.
Not so much after the Chiefs loss.  :bang:

Kansas State Basketball is hard / After the Game
« on: January 04, 2014, 11:15:46 PM »
Sat at a table next to coaches Lowery and Frazier and a couple dudes I didn't recognize at a downtown Manhattan eatery after the game Saturday. They spent an hour eating small plates (chicken and biscuits) and drinking iced tea, recapping the game, relishing every moment.  It was glorious.
Can only assume oscar Weber was home shoveling his driveway, possibly neighbors', too.

oscar is loose, fellas.
