Kansas State Football / Re: question for high football IQ people

I've been breaking down film on Arkansas since the announcement was made.  I found some major flaws in their coverage schemes as well as  fundamental weaknesses in their blocking techniques.  Looks like a sloppy team, and a coach who just rolls the ball out on the field.

i noticed the same stuff. they have some individual talent but are horribly coached and tend to play "thug ball". reminds me high school aau but at the collegiate fball level. coach snyder will outsmart them and we'll have just one more trophy on the shelves. go cats.
I mean yes, they might (might) have the better athletes, but we are way more disciplined and smarter.  I think I remember a game this year when an Arkansas player went into the stands and tried to attack someone....might have been the Auburn game or something.   The whole team is kind of out of control.

arkansas is arkansas and they take a lot of chances on thugs and people that other schools are scared away from because they have a criminal past or might not qualify out of highschool or something similar. if you just show up, punch them back and are not coached by a completely Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) football staff they will give up and you will win the second half by thirty. i saw this in the game they played the other week.

Against LSU? they will do that to everyone. We have like 3 come from behind wins this season in the 2nd half...and our team is mostly 3 stars so i dont think we are really taking chances on players other people want lol. We do talk a lot of smack, joe adams in particular, it gets on my nerves somtimes but our coaching staff wants us to play with swagger

The first thing I always do when I analyze a team is ask myself if I even know who their quarterback is.  Arkansas?  No clue.  W.

Tyler Wilson will probably be 1st team all-SEC at QB...he has 22 TDs to 6 INTs on the season and has been knocked down 60 times, which is the most in the SEC. Hes a tough player.

The coverage scheme doesnt suprise me. A lot of fans want our DC fired...he sucks and gives like a 15 yard cushion. Instead of using LT, LG, RG, and RT for our OL, we play them strong side and weak side so we can flip them...we make them learn both ways. Our OL coach was the OL at nevada and has helped us a lot with the pistol formation. Our OL hasnt been great this year but we had to replace 3 from last year and are young

Im sure petrino has added a full 500 plays to his repertoire since that game...our OL was still young then too. Really the only teams i feel that can stop our offense are teams with amazing secondaries...which are the two teams we lost to

They named their state after a river of ours. Should we graciously allow them to bathe in it upstream from Oklahoma? I hear that the water becomes quite contaminated once the river starts to flow through Oklahoma and becomes quite literally toxic once it hits Arkansas. Kind of like that body of water in Erin Brockovich, which would explain a lot actually.

Arkansas was a state before kansas bro

really going to enjoy playing the premier program in the great state of Arkansas, actually. I mean, look at this turf :excited:

haha  :dubious: I actually go to uca...if anything it attracted fans from visiting teams and got us on espn so it served its purpose i guess

Hate to break the news to you people, but you speak pretty confidently for a team picked to finish in the bottom half of a mediocre conference and has a one-dimensional offense. I'm sorry, but Arkansas is going to take your team behind the woodshed and bury the shovel with them. You will be LUCKY if you don't lose by 30+. Truth.  :comehere:

honest question:  when was the last time arkansas won a championship of any kind?

We lead the SEC in national championships... :gocho:

Hope your fans are able to make the long and dangerous journey to Dallas.  Wildcat fans, if you see any Pig fans, be sure to offer your charity.  These people suffer through life in ways we just cannot imagine.

They better be nice or we'll all start shopping at Target and shut their school down......

The waltons have actually given more to Mizzou recently than us   :nono: but nwa is still one of the wealthiest places in america

at least we still have jerry jones

A small pocket of wal-Mart execs does not make an area "one of the wealthiest in america"

Tyson chicken is also there. they have a lot of money up there...little rock is a dump though

Hahah you guys are to much.  Your a bottom dwelling team from the Big fail and think your going to Beat Arkansas...     I think our Track team brings in more money than your Football program..

LMAO, your best win is against Texas A&M.

South Carolina

That's the team with the Florida reject coach and Mexican QB that can't throw right?

lol no garcia was kicked off a long time ago

They were in the top 10 in pass defense and we could have put 60 on them. I think this will be a high scoring game but it shouldnt be a blowout

How many teams did they play that really throw the ball around?

ECU and georgia :P

dont know what their stats were against clemson but they won pretty big in that one too

We struggle against running QBs so im worried about klein...reminds me of tebow

Will be interesting to see the match ups. How many option based running schemes do you see in the SEC?  Half (if not more) of our running game is option based, mainly zone or stretch read with a little speed option mixed in. Arkansas certainly has some nice skill players on offense and will be a challenge for K-State.

LSU did it some and killed us with it, of course they have a great OL too though. Auburn might have but without a running QB we did pretty well against it....south carolina got some good yardage out of it i think. We shut down mississippi state though. thats about it. We play more like a big 12 team than an SEC team...although we are pretty big on the lines but that hasnt meant much

I feel better about our chances with a spread team than i would with a power running game. Our defense is pretty fast but terrible at tackling
