Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Re: KU question
« on: March 08, 2010, 09:58:33 PM »
Came up on another board...has KU had any basketball players in recent memory  a)not graduate and b)not go to the NBA? and c) not transfer

i.e. dropped out of school

A)  Rush, Arthur, Wright, and Chalmers all left early

B)  Robinson, Stewart, Langford, Lee, etc didn't go NBA

C)  The only recent transfers have been Wilkes, Padgett, Giles, Downs, Giddens, and Galindo

Completely forgot about Galindo, where did he go?

Florida International. Actual pic of Galindo from the FIU Media Guide:

Any chance he ends up at Ol' Miss now (asst coach, or even 2nd mascot like lil-red or dwarf-jay)?

I can understand an argument that Wally didn't play in the second half because the team left itself with no room for error. But keeping him on the bench in the first half for Victor Ojaylay -- I don't even want to learn to spell it -- seriously?

When Vic came in, my kids learned a few new words.

Remind me of the score when he came in?  That's when we were up 10 right?  Cuz I was all "are u effing crazE putting him in, we just get the lead and you put the saint in?"

Interesting review...All but 1 shot by KSU were from those either no longer on the team and/or those with limited O ability, while the entire list of ku characters are back this yr (one asked Seff to be RS this yr tho).

My guess is he's occupied in the great internecine debate heating up squawk boards: Is Collins now just a shadow of his former self? Discuss, for five pages.
Knowing moonbeams, he's there defending the party line and  :nono: any heretic questioning Collins. Right up to the point Collins blows it in the tournament, at which point beams will turn on him like he did that other fat ass.

makes you wonder if seff's development program went a tad too far...

I've been thinking about this. Recently watched a game in an arena that I thought could serve as a model (but can't remember which one it was). It had an upper deck that extended a few rows over the lower deck, kind of like the addition to the west side of the football stadium.
Figure you'd have to replace the roof and rework concourses.

Ain't going to happen soon.

Might as well build a new arena if you have to take the entire roof structure off, rework concourses, and build enough bathrooms and concessions to adequately serve the increased seating capacity.

worked for Kemper Arena, sort of...

Let see, their colors are black & gold/yellow, right?  I distinctly remember them wearing white jersey's/shorts with black/gold trim.  LOL at stealing our white for their home uni's.

so not that it matters, but do we or others need to have a better appreciation for the job frank did his first two years?  cause when you compare it to Capel, frank's doing/has done a better job with arguably the same or less talent.

Can't imagine many coaches producing a top 5 NBA draft pick, two NCAA appearances (3 yrs of postseason play), at least a top 4 finish in their conference in their first 3 yrs of being a head coach.  Roy W didn't even do that at KayyYouu.

I guess HCFM will win more than 6 in the near future since he's done something in only yr 3 that BS has yet to do in his ?? yrs of coaching...win in Lubbock.

Pretty sure a tough MIAA team will be visiting, although pretty sure one of the MIAA teams that won't be on the sched is WSU.  Still can't figure why there's no 2-4-1 with them.

Anyone else catch Lu's fb pic of the gash in the head that required 10 stitches?
