Oh, and the word I get is that Pres Schulz wants this project done ASAP, he's completely behind it.

The State isn't paying for it, K-State athletics is.

KSU is asking the Board of Regents to amend the FY 2010 Capital Projects List to include a $20 million dollar basketball practice/operations facility AND . . . $2.1 million dollars in new restrooms for the upper level of OBFS.  2 Practice courts, all new offices for both men and women, dressing rooms, sports medicine/hydrotherapy, lounges etc. etc.   If they spend the entirety of the $20 million on this facility it will be one of the nicest facilities of its kind in the country.

Please note that this doesn't ALWAYS mean it will happen in the FY that they amend, but in most cases it does happen.

Based purely on the formula that this guys is talking about using . . . K-State is firmly in the Top 64.

But that won't be the formula . . . thing is, IMO the super conferences will be more inclusionairy than exclusionairy.

People aren't lending enough credence to the political climate that's casting a wary eye toward both the NCAA and BCS.   Attempts to be exclusionary are going to be met with piles of litigation and political interference IMO.

That being said, I believe K-State will be fine from a BCS or BCS type participation conference . . . . TV and exposure could very well be an issue.

Okay some had a flailing hand in their face, that got there just after they released the ball after the shooter had a chance to set, square and fire.

Good point.

53710
to summarize- it's good to play like crap and win.

Yeah, pretty much.

The guy has a couple of good points.   But I think he's completely misguided on the legal/political piece.

If those 64 attempted to leave the NCAA and start their Uber athletic association . . . I personally believe there would be a mountain of litigation, and massive piles of political interference.    There's a whole bunch of schools with their lawyers, and their politicians in their hip pocket that will fight that to the bitter end.   There's no way a BYU, Iowa State,  Boise State, or a Fresno State lets that happen without filing lawsuit after lawsuit, the entire MAC would file suit . . . it would be endless.

53712
Um my idea of a "well contested" shot is the shooter struggling just to get it out of his hands.

Not the shooter completely squared up, set, getting a perfect delivery pass with some defender flying out at the last second to "get a hand in his face".

53713
That happened like . . . twice Quan . . . twice.    It's a 40 minute game, try and pay attention for more than 12.

53714
Hey they're running back door . . . everybody get right up in their guys face, even if they're 25 feet from the basket.

53715
Note to LBBIQ types . . . playing straight up doesn't mean a zone.  It means quit chasing the ball, quit getting fixated on the decoy running off the picks inside and oh . . . watch for that guy spotting up wide open out behind the arc.

53716
You know your perimeter defensive strategy is working great when the other team shoots 66.7% from behind the arc aka 14 for 21,

But hey, they only prayer they have to even make the game close down the stretch is from behind the arc . . . so lets over play every drive to the basket and let them kick to wide open shooters.

Fantastic Frank, just fantastic.

Say, you don't think they're gonna run a pick and kick for 3 out of the time out do you Frank??

They had to report a loss due to a drop in the value of the athletic department endowment holdings.

In terms of operational revenues, they were over $1 million in the black.

A credible source says that Frank wants an additional $400,000 for his contract, and modest raises for the other coaches.  Currie cancelled construction on the basketball practice facility when it became apparent that Prince Ron wiped his a$$ with Krause/Wefald, and Currie has to find money from somewhere to pay for the facility.

While I've seen this movie before it appears we are making some offers right now . . . I sense a more aggressive situation in the Vanier offices on recruiting.

But I won't be holding my breath.
