I think going to an 8 team playoff is going to happen soon after a few teams get fk'd over.  Either that or the committee will need some ground rules- Conference Champs from the big 5 conferences get into the playoff over a team that isn't a Conference Champ but has the same amount of losses- KSU/Bama get in over Oregon and Florida, BOOM problem solved.

i don't understand why the $50m buyout can be negotiated but everyone in big12 country is like "oh, yeah, we triple stamped the GOR thing so it can't be touched".

If I remember correctly, the acc had a vote to up the buyout to $50mil effective immediately- fsu and Maryland voted no but were outvoted so it was forced upon them.  I would think they would have a good chance of getting out of paying that much being that they voted against it.  With the GOR every school had time to decide if they wanted to sign- so I think it would be tougher to get out of.

Big 10 adds: UVA,  Georgia Tech and UNC.
SEC adds  NC State & Virginia Tech
Big 12 adds FSU, Clemson, Louisville , and Miami.

So if these schools end up in these conferences to get to at least 14 , who will the pac12 add?  Or will they just stay at 12?  It seems to me that they're kind of stuck when it comes to adding another quality school, unless it's BYU and that's it.

At what point DO we have other options? All Stadium upgrades complete? 250,000 living alumni? 1Bn dollar endowment?

What are we striving for here?

Sharing a conference with UT and OU is our best option, we are striving to keep the Big 12 the best conference in college athletics. 

I hope the power brokers at UT and OU share this same truth.

And so not adding Florida State and Clemson, or whatever leftover ACC school is this conference's best option? If things fall the way they are and the ACC crumbles, where will FSU end up if not the Big12?  We are pretty much their only option if the SEC doesn't pick them up, am i right?

They stay in the ACC. The Big 12 is not going to destroy the ACC. Why would they?

I didn't say that the Big12 would destroy the ACC. Anyway, what are FSU and Clemson's options if the Big10 and SEC don't take them and possibly up to 5 ACC teams leave? Pac12 doesn't make sense because of travel distance, staying in the ACC doesn't seem like a great option financially, which leaves the Big12 as the only move that would make sense, right?

Welp. The big-12 sits around and does nothing as usual.

Time to call up the Pac. They are short on options right now, we could get in if the animal and currie play the cards right.

Is Deloss full of crap? Or is the big12 ran by a bunch of retards with no vision for where this is going?  If this conference doesn't keep up with the other conferences, eventually schools like ksu are going to be back in the same situation we were in a year ago.

I felt like the fire wasn't there tonight- the team was trying but Baylor played out of their minds and ksu played.....bad, from the coaches on down.  I still cant believe ksu got beat down like this.

From everything I've been reading it looks like Oregon and ND won't be able to pass us if they go undefeated thanks to the USC and OSU losses. Do you really think the BCS would "tweak" the computers to put the team they want in?? 

They will do whatever they can to get the matchup they want, just like last year.
