Kansas coach Bill Self released the following statement about freshman point guard Josh Selby on Friday:

"We have had numerous inquiries about the status of Josh Selby. The NCAA has cleared Josh to be on scholarship, attend class and practice, but he has not yet been cleared for participation. That process is ongoing. It is not uncommon for these cases to take time, as we have seen in many other cases. Of course we would prefer that this be behind us, but we respect the process and will not comment further until it is complete.”

what's it mean?

They won't say anything more until the appeal has been ruled on.

Tough day breaking news around here, need a distraction.

In a 12 team keeper league, with a flex play.  Who would you play (2 of 3) out of the following

Peyton Hillis @Bal
Louis Murphy @Ari
Mike Williams  vs. Pit

sorry to get here so late. i've heard the same stuff as hillwalking but don't believe ku is going to announce today. they're being asked to hold off until next week at selbys families request or something.

I wouldn't doubt it.  The statement release late today is just my guess

amazing how goEMAW gets the scoop before anyone else. not a peep of this on any other news outlet.

Expect a short 3 sentence release, quietly, at about 4:59:59 CST.

Lew would hear this news and let out a nice chuckle, pick up the phone and make two calls, then kick back in his recliner and light up a cigar if he were still AD.

But don't worry, Bernie Little is on it now.

Hill, you taking this rumor serious or no?

Yep.  I trust the guy who told it to me.  He's just enough entrenched in the AD that he would know and have no reason to lie to me

Selby not cleared by NCAA.  Out for the year.  KU is filing an appeal.

given my elite hygiene, I think I would be very attractive to bed bugs.  Like their holy grail.  I do everything I can to stay one step ahead of them.

My feeling is that Perkins being shoved out ahead of time had nothing to do with losing to NDSU . . . and everything to do with what the auditors are finding.    That way when the $hit hits the fan Bernie can go to the Regents and tell them that she's already sent the head rat packing.

Agreed

Not defending Perkins here, I just don't get Fitz's logic.  We have $50 million in debt, but we also have a new basketball practice facility, new football facilities, new Olympic Sports facility, up grades to the baseball "stadium", softball field, and improvements in the athlete living facilities.

I guess his reasoning is not having facilities and not having debt>> having facilities, having debt?

In a straight up gas vs. charcoal challenge I bet most posters wouldn't be able to tell a taste difference.

Yes there's exceptions like the BGE.

If you really grill as much as  you say you do then you'd be insane not to go with gas.  The purists will be here and beat charcoal into the ground but it's not practical if you're cooking most of your meals with it.

Weber makes some good gas grills.

This, I have a Weber Bullet and a gas grill.  The propane is used probably 3:1 because its easier.  I don't have to wait 25 minutes for heat.

Rock flew up and hit my windshield today.  Nice new chip on my 4 month old car.   :curse:

Your insurance will fix the windshield chip without charging you a deductible :dunno:

I know, its just I hate filing claims, and I now know that the windshield is not 100%.  Love my new car though.

Our stadium is a joke.  No cantilevered upper decks mean that half the crowd is really far away from the field.  The acoustics are horrible, and they put the students in a freaking corner.  If that wasn't enough, they keep floating plans to "improve" the 95 year old crap hole.  For the love of god, float a $100 million bond and build a whole new 60,000 seat stadium in the same spot.

Ya McGonigles has some shrimp I love but they run $15 a pound.  I've not come across any andouille in KC that resembles anything you'd find in Nola.

Should have done what I did and get black out drunk.  The last thing I remember was we were up 3-0 and I was scheming to take an NDSU fan's hat.

i'm glad you're still with us, bro

Good to be here.  Touch and go for a while.

i have not switched to their shaving cream yet but use their soap, shampoo, hand creme, etc.  all of their stuff is great.

I'm torn between that and their shave oil.  I actually lean to the oil more, but feel its better for one of those formal shaves for when you are going out to dinner or some special occasion.  Like you should let your face set for 5 minutes with it to get the full experience.  The cream is great for every day use.  Wife loves it, and I get a much better shave with it.
