I just want Pierce Sims, Hickman, and Buhl back....can we have that again sometime?

This.

Sorry, but Ted Sims could barely hold Pierce's jock IMO.  We don't lose to Marshall, Texas, and OSU in 2003 if Pierce stayed.

Took calc over the summer and freems and mastrud were in the class. Freems showed up the first day wearing a wife beater and athletic shorts , this was in the middle of the "Freemans up to 260, no one will be able to tackle him" days. Saw him maybe 3 more times that summer even though class was everyday, no idea on the grade.

Merv?Talk about a hick name, better start checking the John Deere Dealerships for memoribilia....

But seriously, how does KU go from winning a national title to signing a no star forward named Merv in 3 short years?  :ck:

Now, this would seem to be little more than a discussion about procedure if it weren't for the fact that according to public records, OSU lineman Thaddeus Gibson "bought" a two-year-old Chrysler for $0 from Kniffin. Gibson and Kniffin both deny that the price listed on the title was the actual sale price, but $0 seems to be what they're telling the government. That's a discrepancy for which the IRS, NCAA, and OSU compliance department are all going to need a lot of explanation.
:surprised:

There's a very, very bad worst-case scenario here for Ohio State. It's got a lot of ifs, so it's not terribly likely, but it's not out of the realm of plausibility. IF there were special discounts being given out, and IF the compliance department was reviewing sales documents, and IF that office was also directing players to those dealerships, THEN Ohio State would basically have been running a sham of a compliance department. That's a lack of institutional control nonpareil. Again, that's a worst-case scenario, and one that OSU's director of compliance has already denied, but these are the stakes at play here.

This sounds like hipster wizardry.

Confirmed. I'm picturing asava now wearing designer glasses with no prescription magnification swirling a glass of wine to relax from his 3 mile bike ride after class saying "Pacifism, Pro's? Cons? Hmmmm Modest Mouse, this could take all night"

Had a very graphic dream the other night about fighting in the civil war. I was fighting for Alabama, not sure why it wasnt the confedaracy but for some reason I just remember we were fighting for Alabama in specific. There is a large battle raging, fields full of soldiers and I'm holding a at the top of a hill with others. We successfully push back the first offensive after fighting in hand to hand combat. Then comes the second charge and I start wrestling with a Union soldier, I get him in a head lock and we end up on the ground with him on top of me. Right after I finish choking him out another union soldier walks up to me while I'm still laying on the ground with a dead body on top of me and grins then knicks both the jugular veins on my neck with his sword.

I can feel the warm blood flowing all over and I pass out. Wake up later in the dream, still on the battlefield after its over and get up and walk away.

Maybe just maybe this works out in our favor. Frank doesnt get the Miami job since he is perceived to be a hot head who abuses his players(only good thing Energy was for). The chip on his shoulder grows exponentially and he rededicates himself to recruiting and winning enough games to make Miami look foolish for passing on him for his perceived faults?   :ck:

Sports Shop owner.

:gocho:

Never got to go to the real one but we did some sort of mini exchange city in our school for a month where everyone got to pick a job and trade fake currency for goods. Since everyone got to pick there own job I was one of about 5 different bankers. I decided to differentiate myself by also dealing baseball cards on the side, made a killing until the month ended and I realized I had all this fake money that I couldnt do anything with.

Essentially Flyertalk / Re: People that don't reply to e-mails
« on: March 16, 2011, 07:21:37 PM »
I have 2 email addresses. I give one of them to unimportant people who are likely to send me a bunch of forwards and other crap that I don't care about. I give my other email address to important people. I check the email for important people hourly, and I check the email for unimportant people like once a week, and I just skim through it then. :horrorsurprise: Maybe somebody gave you their email address for unimportant people.

I don't mind if unimportant e-mails don't get a response. I have sent 4,738 unimportant e-mails over the last few years and many of them don't get a response (Meek  :frown:). I get frustrated, though, when I send an important e-mail to an important (or somewhat important) person, one that requires an immediate (or somewhat immediate) response, and don't get a reply.

She's just not that into you bro

BERLIN—Matthias Kling, a physicist specializing in an emerging field of quantum optics, is among Germany's best and brightest.

But starting next year, the 38-year-old will join an exodus that many fear threatens the future of Europe's largest economy.

."I find it quite hard, [for a scientist] in a new field, to find a position in Germany," said Mr. Kling, who plans to take up an assistant professorship next year at Kansas State University. All four of the top applicants for the post, he said, were German.
