I am going to start building out mine next month 
10 ft. ceiling w/reinforced beam (lone pole should be wall-ed off). Should add just under 1000 ft of rec room space, some decent storage, and a half bath. Sorry Mrs. OTK but we might be putting a urinal in there. Laminate flooring (maple bball court flavor) and will paint the joists, ducts, etc black to take advantage of the height. I have a wall that should be able to accommodate a 65-70" screen visible from 4/5 of the floor space. There will be much EMAW decor.
Work will be done by friends who got carpentry, electrical, etc. game. It will take some time.

I think the cost of the device will be subsidized ($200 or so after rebate w/contract etc) but don't expect the $70/mo. plans to apply; if you have one of those dual mode air cards for instance, monthly recurring charges are more to use 4g (where available). sprint employee btw
What if you don't live in a 4g area?
Will work on the 3g network too, 4g where available. 4g rollout will continue in 2011. houston just launched.

Uverse if you can get it. $90 for 2 boxes, U300 package (i think), HD, DVR, taxes . don't have a home phone/internet bundle. need to pay the extra $12/mo. to get the sports package next fall (those elusive CBS College Sports games). do miss metro sports sometimes. as mentioned they are negotiable.
