Bob Elliott will replace Chris Ash as Iowa State’s secondary coach, the Cyclones announced Wednesday.
Elliott, who played and coached at Iowa, was an assistant on Cyclone coach Dan McCarney’s staff between 2000 and 2001. He was defensive coordinator at Kansas State between 2002 and 2005, and then defensive coordinator at San Diego State before the staff was fired after the 2008 season.
Elliott, 57, is the son of former Iowa athletic director Bump Elliott.
Ash left Paul Rhoads’ staff two weeks ago to become secondary coach at Wisconsin.
