Jeb Drost is a farmhand from Iola.  He secretly wants to become a Broadway star.

Alas, his Broadway dreams were crushed and he now works in the HyVee Meats Department.  Very good dude tho.

Possibly the greatest American Admiral ever, David Farragut, won several decisive victories in the War of Southern Treason, including one in Alabama.

"He is remembered for his order at the Battle of Mobile Bay (which he won), usually paraphrased as "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead" in U.S. Navy tradition"

Damn the Tigers, full speed ahead.

Orange Venom in that Tennessee thread said he ran a 4.57 at the "last camp I saw him at" and that would've been the summer before his junior year if true(he posted it in October last year) ...I wouldn't be worried about his speed.

His ACT score is listed on his Rivals page, it's a 25.  I scored higher than that.  Do Ivy League schools really get interested in guys who score a 25?  I mean, I figured with their largely esoteric interest in football that they'd hold even ball players to higher standards.

So I really just wanted to see if Mack truly was a man of the people.  His response is exactly what I imagined it could be if that Mack was real.

Mack Brown ?@UT_MackBrown  25m
“@MeatGeekKSU: @UT_MackBrown is the single best thing to ever happen to Twitter. Keep living the dream Mack.” Just having fun. Glad U R 2

They did considerably more switching of the skill players than they normally do, or so it seemed anyway.  Charles Jones was the purple RB all day and Leverette stayed the white RB.  The corner backs and some of the WR did switching though.  I don't think it means much when our top playmaker wasn't even around.  The Whites actually looked bigger and faster than they normally do.

Looking good

Is Derricott actually here for Spring or what?  Am I stupid for not knowing who the fella with him is?

A new Ryan Mueller?

http://247sports.com/Player/Adam-Holtorf-36912

Because he's a similar sized white guy?   Or is there evidence to back this up?

This.

Let's also hope he has a Batt BcKee.

I hope not, for Adam's sister's sake.

He's been a pretty decent ball coach. The rough transition to the Big 12 was more because all he had at hand was tools to compete at the Mountain West level.  Now he has the tools to compete at a Big 12 and National Level with an elite basketball facility to play with.  It's a solid hire.  I mean the Wichita State ball coach would've maybe generated more excitement, but this guy has has a winning pedigree.  Besides Geno is the best women's coach of all time(no, not Pat Summit lulz), and he's obviously a dude.  Get Shalee to stick around it remains a very good hire.

exactly, pretty decent, meh :blank: I will say after looking at his resume it appears that he was TCU's Jody Adams, I am a little troubled by him seeming as if he's plateaued. His post season resume is very similar to Deb's, don't be fooled by that dumb post season stat that K-State is throwing out there. TCU has more than a few NITs in that run and very few NCAA wins. His best team was his 04-05 team. TCU had Michael Irvin's niece on that team she's like 6'7" and was just a couple of blocks from breaking the NCAA single season record. That team won 1 game in the tournament and they played that pod at home. At least Deb went to the sweet 16.

I also wholeheartedly reject that point about them transitioning from the Mountain West. As we know TCU played in like 39 conferences in 7 years, but they were not dominant at all, ever. Jody and WSU were 30-6 against the valley the last 2 seasons with 4 titles.

Eh, I still think it will work out well.  All of those other conferences were all pretty Mountain Westy too, so the fact that he moved from a lesser conference where you usually are going to draw lesser recruits to a Big 12 environment is still there.  Maybe they weren't ever dominant, but when has Deb ever been truly dominant with this Cats team? She's had some nice seasons, but nothing truly remarkable. He went to 9 NCAA tourneys in 15 years at TCU, a school where it is verifiably, much harder to get into the dance than it is in the Big 12 just based on the smaller selection those conferences usually get.  That's a pretty good track record and the development from a horrid inaugural Big 12 campaign to this season shows he can go at this level.  He keeps girls from transferring out and keeps Shalee around then it will work out pretty well.

Damnit, you guys. I wasn't on here at all today until now and this is what I find? I was so excited to see this was to page 505 yet it was just a bunch of stupid (no offense to most of you) ideas for naming something. Just enjoy it and all the The Bill. Chill out.

yeah I thought for sure something cool had happened.  what a letdown.

your negativity is a letdown.  you don't deserve nice things.

@scottshocker face

Also wtf was that a week face paint attempt or is his skin messed up.

It looks like he got some washable crayola markers and just started coloring in his face.

I like that he's flanked by sweat pants and jersey/camo.

I know the kid in the jersey/camo.  He's a stud Special Olympics athlete, I am not joking.  He also manages a 3.5 plus GPA at WSU.  His Facebook posts about the Shockers and CM Punk are just wonderbad.

Is Klein just not willing to play Arena Football or something?  I mean I would assume that all of the Kansas teams in this league have probably asked him to play.

It was brutal.

Also, I didn't realize we actually got Riddle.
Have you been living on the moon?

Yeah. I mean, I get not following recruiting but come on.

Riddle was super touch and go and one of our last commitments.   Cut the guy some slack.

You're either an EMAW or you're not.    :buh-bye:

Posnanski knocks it out of the park.

http://www.nbcsports.com/joe-posnanski/robinson-sam-blazing-trails-seven-decades-apart

that was good

I liked the totality of what he said, I hate the Jackie Robinson comparison

That was my first thought. Jackie Robinson didn't have the opportunity to choose when the time was right to confront racism. There's no hiding it. Being gay, while not a choice either, you usually get the opportunity to choose when to confront the bigotry, or even choose not to. You can keep it private.

You can't keep it private if rumors have already started swirling among your potential employers and there's a chance it'll be common hearsay pretty soon.  The idea that you can choose when to or when not to confront hatred for what you are and there's no pressure to have the courage to reveal yourself to others is rather ignorant of realities.

Me and my friend tried to come up with a TNT like nickname thing for this group of LBs.  So if Johnson, Derricott, and Riddle are all the starters and they've all been timed in the 40 in the 4.4 range how about "344, just try to score"? Or is that too wordy? :dunno:

You know Currie wants to have a big event to unveil this thing.  But it seems like he is waiting to long.  Pics are going to be leaked sooner or later.

Does he do it at the KU basketball game in early February??? :emawkid:

I would like that date.  Do it right before the game to rub their faces in the fact that basketball season isn't going to last much longer and then do like a comparison video of other Big 12 facilities and include that awful box in in the back of their endzone.

The coaches moved on from Aaron, before we decided to take the trip to UCLA , me, his mother sent 2 emails to the coach and they never replied or called, we were being ignored and that is what forced Aaron to choose out of Ucla, Washington, Houston and Texas Tech.....I honestly believe the minute he ASKED to visit LA, they moved on...

If true...

I would be more angry if recruiting wasn't going so well outside of Aaron.  They've been earning the benefit of the doubt of late.  If they decided they were moving on, then so be it.

Elijah isn't leaving us for anyone including Nub or Mizzou

12:06 AM - Momma
So of course go for one of KState top recruits. and they are hoping to get these other 2 juniors next year figured if they get Elijah they know those 2 would come.. however we as parents wouldn't let that happen lol

So wait, are the two juniors in question just recruits from elsewhere or Blue Springs guys that look up to Elijah or something that we could get instead?
