Title: Grant Gregory was a selfish jerk (on the football field)
Post by: PoetWarrior on February 12, 2010, 09:46:02 AM
And likely cost us a bowl game.

Hiding his injuries, pain and ineffectiveness the way he did, solely because he selfishly wanted his one last chance to start on an organized football team, was the furthest thing from being a team player I can imagine.

He did not help us, in any way. Glad he's gone (from the team).

you would have preferred carson?  i love you PW, but you're off the reservation on this one.  an injured gregory was still teh suck than a perfectly healthy coffman.

Coffman, Klein, whoever, would have been better by the end of the year than Gregory was. He was clearly the best option early on (Iowa St.), but as Thomas emerged, all we needed was someone physically able to complete simple passes and hand it to the D-Train. Gregory wasn't.

Nebraska was an absolute joke. Women could have played better.

Should be blaming Snyder.

Yeah, Snyder knew about his injury possibly even before Daris

I blame Gregory because he was the only one who knew how incapable he was. He knew he was getting worse and he should have removed himself, knowing his arm was about to fall off. The coaches probably thought he was saving it for the game when he stunk in practice...He needed to be a team player and get out of there.

It's cool when you're fighting through pain and playing well, but not when all you care about is the last season of your existence and you put your team into the bowl-less abyss because you couldn't let go of your poor career.

When he was crying after the Iowa St. game, he knew...

coffman would've given us a better shot against miz and nu. taller, stronger arm, more accurate. the gregorytards won't ever admit this though.

Thomas would have been the key with Coffman (Klein, ?). Early on, we didn't seem to realize that we could give it to him everytime and so the offense failed because Coffman is not a world beater and was asked to do too much. At the end of the year all we needed was someone who could hit wide open receivers half of the time. We would have beaten Nebraska, gone to the Big 12, and played in the Alamo and it would have been incredible.

P.S.

Thank goodness we don't have to think about Gregory or Coffman anymore.

PoetWarrior, I agree with you.  Grant Gregory is a garbage human being.

PoetWarrior, I agree with you.

Thank you, michigancat. Seems I can count on you roughly 70% of the time.

I would go as far as to say that you either have to accept my premise, or we must all mutually decide that what Grant did was OK because football games (winning, losing, etc.) are completely trivial and we as humans are meant only to act in a way consistent with pleasing our prideful, sinful desires.

(For the record, I do not accept that wholly, but that general stance on football can be argued successfully)

I do not hope Grant fails in life.

Probably closer to 80%.  Put those directors you recommended on Netflix.  Looking forward to them.

Put those directors you recommended on Netflix.  Looking forward to them.

Start with their most recent films first, if you can.

That's not to say they are their best, necessarily, but that way you will ease into them...No matter who you are, films are easier to digest the more they coincide with your present circumstances. (i.e. where and when you are.) So, American films from the last 20 years and so on...

I think Thin Red Line is first.  I can't read your list any more, because I'm banned.

Not a big Gregory fan, but Coffman's delivery was too slow to ever be effective.  And I was ALL ABOUT the "Barn Raiser" hype before the season.

So....You're talking about someone that only cares about themselves and couldn't care less if anyone on this board lives or dies?

Well, you are a person.  The other one is a documentary that wasn't about you.  So, pretty much opposites.  I dunno, I didn't see it.  :dunno:

Should have been Collin Klein.   :bang:

Did any of you see that one pass at Nebraska?

Guy was obviously our best quarterback.
