Being #2, we should be pretty cocky while watching this game. Who should we root for? Does it matter?
-
I'll never root for our rival. :hornsdown
Besides, it's not like we're going to catch Kansas anyway. Might as well have them unbeaten in conference play for the chance at a huge win in Lawrence. :dunno:
-
go ku.
-
go ku.
hell yes, Rock rough ridin' Chalk!
-
just hoping for good game w/ Aldrich & Pittman staying out of foul trouble.

This

win-win situation for me.

might as well root for our rival.

all I know is that atmosphere in the nursing home known as the Irwin Center will be electric.
-
go ku.
This, unless you are some really optimistic fan that believes we will win out and contend with KU for the league title.

agreed, we just need to be in the best position possible to win 6 in a row come march 18. ku is getting a 1 seed, we need to take care of business and get a 2 or 3 seed.
-
Team, State, Conference Division, Conference, Uniform
This is the order of knowing who to cheer for. KU is two full categories ahead of TX here. Rock Chawk.

I hope the building caves in on both of them.

Tough choice. Fans of both are loud-mouthed braggarts. Since we've been so difficult for Texas, I'm hoping they win. Puts us closer to contending for the Big XII title.

Difficult? we fracking own them.
-
braggart? are you 65 ?
-
I think it would help the nation perception of the Big 12 if UT can find a way to win this one. Should KU win, UT would all out of the Top 15 and would fall into a 4 way tie for 4th in the conf. Neither of those would help our dreams of being a power conference.
-
braggart? are you 65 ?
Forget the language, do you honestly want ku to win?

yeah I do. we want the #3 team in the B12 to have more losses than the #2 team.

New unis (http://longhornroadtrip.com/2010/02/08/longhorns-to-unveil-new-uniforms-sneakers-against-kansas/) for Texas tonight.
Don't think I like them.
-
They're great.
Isn't it about time we unveil some new ones?
We're supposed to be in line for new uniforms next year - Nike likes to unleash them prior to the tournament...like our upgrade in '08...
Hope so.
-
not catching ks. 2nd place will likely come down to us and TX. DO NOT WANT THEM TO WIN!

Fair enough. Looking at the Horn schedule, they have a very tough road ahead, even winning at home tonight--not that worried about Texas at this point. FWIW ku still has to play us at home, Mizzou at Columbia--a loss in Austin would then be huge if they drop the other two games. It's understood the remainder of our schedule is not a gimme, but things can fall into place for the 'Cats.

probably a lot of powertards.

would be nice if pittman would break aldrichs leg or something like that.

I'll be rooting for a terrorist this evening.

can you imagine if he grabbed Sharon Collin's leg, snapped it, then sucked the marrow out of it?

would definetly add to the "rivalry" between the two teams.

He could hand the other leg over to young Silas, sitting court side, for a little picnic.

Rivalry Week: KU vs. Texas (Big Monday)

Nova/WVA probably the biggest rivalry of the week. prolly why they are tipping it off first.

It's amazing to see what Huggins has done now that he's finally at a big-time program.

I didn't realize Joe College represented the entire KU fanbase. Most KU fans seem to be in agreement that the Frank Martin t-shirts were in poor taste.

Let me know when K-State beats West Virginia by 18 in the Final Four on their way to a national title.
PS. UNC: 13-10 (2-6)

Isn't Texas like our best win so we should like want them to do good??????????

Isn't Texas like our best win so we should like want them to do good??????????
we have so many amazing crushing victories it really doesn't matter at this point. a KU win would be better for our RPI. but a UT win would be better for actually beating a high RPI team. i just hope it's an entertaining game.
-
I couldn't be happier that KU got Bill Self. The '08 national title and 18-point win over UNC agree.
-
west virginia / ksu would be a humongous rivalry game. :ksu:

exactly. there's a point at which a team's success is self-validating, it doesn't rely primarily on quality of individual victories. kstate is at or near that point; kstate is now better validated by being the clear, undisputed 2nd team in the big 12 rather than by having a home win over a top-x ut team.

especially if the big 12 finishes as the top RPI league. Need sole possession of number 2.

just curious.

Obsessively but won't ever admit it.
-
I'm not sure WVU is a lock at a 2 seed yet. they still have to play Nova(x2), @UConn, @Pitt, Cincy, and Georgetown. Depending on how those games go, they could be anywhere from a 1 to a 4 seed. I see us pretty much locked in as a 2(wishful) or a 3 seed. We might as well just plan on meeting Huggs in the final 4.

yeah that's kinda what i picked up. i mean i dislike huggins but not to the extent ku fans hate roy.
-

You've got it wrong, dude. The majority of KU's fanbase never "hated" Roy. KU fans were mainly pissed off at how UNC's administration handled the whole situation. They contacted Roy during KU's 2003 Final Four run. It took something away from the Final Four experience for KU fans, and we resent UNC for that. I'll always have a soft spot for Roy Williams, as I grew up watching his brand of KU basketball, and went to quite a few Roy Williams basketball camps. When I was a kid, my friend's grandpa took us to the fieldhouse, and we were able to talk with Roy in his office for a little bit. I'll never forget it. The guy is a great coach, but if you asked KU fans, they'd say that Bill Self is a better fit at KU.

Wait'll Hugs goes on to be the most successful coach in the game and see how you feel.
-
my ku friends hate roy, hate him. Alums and non alums alike. They will never root for him under any circumstance and still whine that one of his titles was with Dougherty(?)'s players.
-
root for tejas
KU still has two legitimate chances to lose on the road @ A&M (29-2 home record) and MU.
Say they lose tonight and A&M (approx 10% chance according to Kenpom)
If we beat them at the PHAG and win out the rest of our games they will have to win on the road at MU to keep conference title...
Chance of all of this happening...probably about the same as passing healthcare reform.

yeah, none of that will happen. Health Care looks like a homerun compared to that.

was visiting a friend in Lawrence one time and got up early morning to grab someting out of my car wearing only my boxers. roy and his entourage just happen to be joggin by at the moment. he said hey. seemed like a good guy. not sure why ku fans hate him so much

not catching ks. 2nd place will likely come down to us and TX. DO NOT WANT THEM TO WIN!
Would have said this at 8PM, but SHEEEIIITTTTT
KSU has 2nd place locked down. UT, A&M, and Baylor all have games against each other not to mention games against TT, OU, OSU. As good as the conference is this year the south is miles better than the north, KSU will finish 2nd even at 10-6, even if Texas would have won tonight.
UT lost, the conference is over, the battle in the conference is for the last 2 byes.
