need a gif. one of the most athletic plays i've witnessed. i was like
-
That followed by the ensuing 3 was pretty fantastic. As FFF would say, probably my biggest fist-pump moment
-
kelly and 1 with about 5 minutes left after theyhad cut it to 4 was my biggest fist pump.
-
the "least fist pump" moment...? The Brackens Ally-oop that they keep showing on ESPN or those 4 threes that they banked in during the final minute?
-
no thanks. the guy is garbage.
-
replayed the mother fracker about five times on my dvr right after it happened.
kept saying, "would a wooldridge team make this play? NO!!" i feel bad for piling on wooly but it's too easy/relevant.

This is why I liked Massey and Cartier so much, I saw some pretty sick hustle plays from them, and they were on a Wooly team

stupid post

With that play, can Frank just concede there is no reason to play Merriewether any more. How many times yesterday did we move the ball, only to have it end up on an open CM's hands and . . .
Thankfully, he only chucked up the one brick.

Irning is a PG. CM is a SF. what does one have to do with another

 Actually, Irving plays point guard when spelling Clemente and shooting guard when spelling Pullen. IMO better off playing three-guard with him rather than give CM minutes, especially when Colon is also in the game. Too many offensive dead spots.

thats what i have been wanting. go with a 3 small guard lineup. keep merrs out.

playing three sub 6 footers works in high school. so Frank might know how utilize that line up :dunno:
-
Need a vid of this on YT with a "We Are All Witnesses" after it...
Very similar to FFF's K-State Football: Where Amazing Happens vid with Dylan Meier.

it might sound kinda stupid, but the athleticism of the team should overcame the height disadvantages. would also eliminate the offensive drop off when merrs is on the floor.

Athleticism can make up for height, but only when you play physically. Denis throws some cheap shots every now and then, but he does not play physically. And despite having an obvious strength advantage over all of his match-ups, Tay doesn't really seem to either.
Energy is a necessary evil until McGruder starts to play consistent solid D without any big time mental lapses.

Grud's D has been good. Great rebounder also.

His on ball D is pretty good, but imho he has trouble in the half court game with team defense. Have given up some wide open jumpers because he loses his man playing off ball D. Just a matter of time though, I've got a ton of faith in him. I hope that his minutes progressively increase for the rest of the season.
And agreed, he's a terrific rebounder.

I like irving
-
I like him too.
I like him the most at point guard. Except for a couple of games early on his jumper hasn't been going down, but I'm comfortable with his ball handling most of the time. I think he has potential to be a steal machine and generally a beast of a defender which could make it hard to sit him. I could see quite a few three guard sets with him, Jake, and Rodney in next year. Especially with Asprilla playing center and controlling the paint. This is where it would be really cool if it's true that Asprilla is an excellent post passer.
