Title: KSU Basketball Recruiting News
Post by: steve dave on February 05, 2010, 09:25:53 PM
Did Jeffrey Martin spoil us?  Do we deserve basketball recruiting information?  Rivals, Scout, Scouts Inc., ESPN, have turned their back on us repeatedly in favor of LHC Bill Snyder's next nobody.  Someone could make a real name for themselves by making inroads with the Curtis Malone's,  Maurice Hick's, Art Alvarez', etc. of the world.  Who will it be :rubshandstogether:

You would think goEMAW's twitter arm would be pointing the media elite in this direction instead of prodding them for analysis they are all clearly bad at.

you'd think that someone would be smart enough to at least call southwell and ask him who he patterns his game after or something.

That's the thing - these guys LOVE to talk to the media and promote their guys and have legitimate information.  No reason to not build relationships w/ AAU programs.  Unless you're a lazy K-State beat writer.

Can I do this?

Won't they ask where I went to journalism school or something?  Don't they know who is a legit reporter or not?

This better not be the step that leads to goEMAW premium and thus the downfall of the site.  JMHO.

Wait. Where should I post my upcoming update on goEMAW presence at the Gary Williams show (LIVE AT BWW!).

Because I have already bought an MD hat from a gas station so I can pose as the terrapin equivalent of a GOPO booster. If possible, I will record video.

Should a mod just start a blog then let any random poster go after the news, decide whats relevant, then post.  A sort of vigilante journalism.

The Gauchos people aren't like Art. I've talked to Mo Hicks once or twice, but he's difficult to reach. I try to save those calls for special occasions.

Depends on what you're planning to ask. The main number rings to the gym, I think, and the only time I've gotten an answer there is on nights and weekends. Good luck and godspeed.

yeah.  there's a good chance it's williams, rodriguez + unknown big.  maybe/probably a 4th to replace a transfer.

In your gut, where do you think Rodriguez ends up in the rankings.  Top 150?  100?

Won't we probably be looking for 2 or more bigs in that class? We only have one big coming in the 2010 class while we lose Lu. Then after 2011 we lose Kelly, Sutton and maybe Judge. Seems to me like we'd want bigs and at least one really good one. Looking ahead to post 2012 (assuming the world doesn't end) we'd lose pretty much every big man off the current roster save for JHR and I think we'd lose Asprilla following that season as well. 'Te needs to get some more decent freshmen bigs in the next couple classes.

kstate seems to be targeting a ton of bigs in 2012.  if judge leaves after the 10-11 season, i'd assume they'd replace him with a big.  but for now, just one big in 2011.  they already have williams, and are targeting a lot of 2011 points.  maybe things could change if they took a pg with the 4th 2010 'ship.  don't think so though.

i think rodriguez will be a top 100.  maybe top 50 (m'cat bait).

No recruiting service has really looked at him.  Possibly because he has spent a lot of time out of the country.  Putting up great numbers for Krop.  He's very muscley.  I want him a lot.
