They say it's a version of a Thai sweet/spicy chili sauce.  It definitely has a kick but leans toward sweet. Not terribly thick, but definitely not thin like the au ju type sauce for pot stickers.  It visibly has chili's in it....

An irish pub in Colorado Springs has amazing sauces for their chips. They have a rosemary sauce and a curry sauce. I purposefully get something that comes with them. Instead of Thousand Island, they put the rosemary sauce on their reuben. Oh man, I'm so hungry now.

Kind of a honey mustard sweetness going on as a base -- thick and flavorful, but not overbearing.  Then you add in a healthy amount of curry flavoring which takes the sauce well short of anything hot or spicy, but flavors are still there and recognizable.  Gotta say they probably would have buggered it up going with a spicy mustard, as you might expect them to, but it's still surprising a honey mustard-ish sauce can be so fantastic.  It's a work of genius, imho, only bettered in terms of surprisingly delicious mash-ups by the horseradish mashed potatoes I had at Cochon.  I still can't believe I hadn't thought of that one earlier...

Not really a sauce, but Chipotle's corn salsa.   :driving:

3 cups fresh corn, about 3 ears
4 scallions, white and green parts thinly sliced separately
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon chili chowder
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 plum tomatoes, finely diced
1 to 2 fresh jalapeño chiles, finely diced, including seeds

Heat a dry large cast-iron skillet over moderately high heat until hot, then pan-roast corn, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer to a bowl.

Cook white part of scallions in butter with garlic, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon each cumin and chili chowder, and ¼ teaspoon pepper in skillet over moderate heat, stirring, until scallions are tender, 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in corn, tomatoes, and jalapeños.

The #1 and #2 maximum hot BWW sauces. Don't particularly care for BWW other than to go and get my cry/sweat on by dunking my strips in mass quantities of unholy hot sauce. The way I slather the hot sauce on those wings, ppl either think I have a major digestive issue or my dog just died.

Otherwise, there is some kind of spicy mayo/chipotle sauce that Diego Zhang's puts on one of their burgers that is delish. Non-elite/non-Denver area pak'rs are most likely not familiar.

Good jumping off point.

Proliferation of uninspiring, gray-haired athletic coaches who talk too much about "four passes before you shoot" has also been increasingly cited among influential members of the emerging Diaspora.

1) I can't get Gates out here.
2) I usually get Stubb's Hot and Spicy, but they were out, so I went generic.
3) There's a reason I mixed it with the BWW Hot MORONS.  :blindfold:

JFC. You try and share a tasty omelet...

Yeah. That's an accurate list of what's available at the grocery store in my neighborhood.

I'm not gonna drive all over DC to find a store that carries Gates. Hey, Kansas City, way to "Be famous" for something 10 other cities do just as well or better.  :jerk:

However, a few years back I found out a grocery store in GWU didn't know what to sell a 30 pack of Miller for.  So they sold it for $11.  Great summer.

OMG. Thank you. It's like a Marxist nightmare of class stratifications. I either go high-end where I can get some fresh produce and out-of-area goods (and I'll be broad with high-end and round Whole Foods/Trader Joe's up to Dean & Deluca), or I slum around in Safeway/Giant for non-expired generic goods.

No mention of either Taco Bell “Hot” sauce or Gates Original/Classic. I always have Gates on hand. Just bought some TB hot on Tuesday for tacos.

it is and the great part about making your own is you can use less celery seed if you would like. (I enjoy the strong celery flavor)

Do you guys ever make your own aiolis at home? I know I do. Often, to be extra super healthy, I use greek yogurt instead of mayo and hot damn, that's probably the best life advice I can give.
