TITLETOWN - A Decade Long Celebration Of The Greatest Achievement In College Athletics History => Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball => Topic started by: mocat on January 14, 2023, 09:37:57 AM

Kind of feels like we lose today, idk.
If we win it might be the most impressive so far? We're not sneaking up on anybody anymore
-
I had a nightmare that we lost and I literally never dream about sports except as a participant so take it for what it is worth.
-
It’s a classic trap game. Not even Jerome Tang will be able to get this team to focus on the task at hand with the ku game looming large. It should be a good learning experience. A wake up call to remind us we are mortal and get the team refocused and hungry.

See you in section 211 today.

No one can do the @baylor @UT @TCU sweep, it can’t be done.
-
The Tang Gang can and will do it and will be Texas state champs again!
-
win it for Deuce
-
It's my personal opinion that the cats are going to serve up a nice piece of slicktang pie
-
Are we Gerg’ing today?
-
TCU's court is ridiculously dumb.

Facts

Not that it matters, but Finister is definitely gone after this season. Dude is so checked out on the sideline.
-
If Tang talking about Christ a lot runs Massoud off, then he should never stop talking about Christ.
-
I always forget how horrible it is
-
great sequence defensive sequence by massoud (oscar recruit)!!

They should be winning by a lot more

We should go for 15 this half just to make the 2nd half that much more impressive

they are getting absolutely dominated.

Wacks' heart isn't in it though, you can tell
-
Kinda expected this Tuesday but not today.. tanerang better get them going bangerang. Wildcats
-
Can this zombie loving freak at halftime, folks!
-
My halftime adjustment suggestion is to do some kegals and tighten up this #sloppytang
-
star seed has tang on the brain, today.
-
Wacks' heart isn't in it though, you can tell
Kid woke up at 7 am, we did sky zone, and he only took an hour nap. Mrs left me for the day to hang with her side buddy. I don’t have the energy!
-
Watching this in person is unbearable. The turnovers have been ridiculous and we do not look overly interested in playing hoops today.
-
We’ve been suspect on defensive glass, weak inside defensively and poor at double-teaming help defense and unreliable in transition defense all season. Tomlin is a pretty big liability on defense.
Those chickens came to roost in the first half. Frogs are a tough matchup as many of their strengths are our weaknesses.
Offensively, going to have to get tougher against teams that actually defend. Not sure if it is weakness or carelessness with the ball or a combo of both, but the better B12 teams will eat that up.
2nd half will be a good litmus test of this team’s toughness and resolve.
-
maybe tang distracted because he has to go to church tomorrow
-

Is the court easier on the eyes in person?
-
Here I almost believed in jesus. Pretty clear he is not risen
-
Until they can this clown, this is the last basketball game I'll ever watch for K-State basketball. Absolutely embarrassing. Dude is a Baylor mole, sent to destroy our once proud basketball program.
-
jealous of how jyc tcu is

It's awful. Might be part of the reason we are sucking so bad.

i think he would be fine results-wise, but i just realized i'm not a fan of his voice. so because of this reason i want him out.
-
Yeah, too dorky for me and his voice genes suck. Hard pass.

My wife walked in the room and was "What the eff is that" referring to the court.

I like Sills. A lot.

the 50+ year old pouty poster pretty quiet when things don't go his way. when true cat fans that have a spine like myself will keep up the energy no matter what.

You know who doesn't give two shits about basketball is the Mustang. He has not put his phone down since he got in his seat. Hopefully he is raising NIL money for football
-
dropped by to congratulate Stuntz and Wacky on their big victory today.
-
i don't want to be overly critical, but this hasn't been a very enjoyable basketball game to watch.
-
humiliating day for god and his kid tbh.
-
This team is like 3 possessions away from being 0-5 in conference. They better hope they luck into playing a 16 seed. Fire this clown!
-

This is only the 2nd time all season they've been able to party, which they're used to from the last 10 years, but still, gotta let em party

I'm certainly not the one to get in the way of a good party

Redshirting Colbert instead of Finster might have been a regrettable decision.

Pretty sure this is how Tang Tang’s certain guys he doesn’t want on the team anymore. Force them to sit on the bench and lose a year of eligibility. Harsher than oscar’ing or Frank’ing ever was.
-
Definitely not a godly move on his part.

Me too, bud! Go cats!
-
A disaster of a day. They happen.
But the inability to stop the ball, the recovery after the press break, the weak ass turnovers. Goodness.
Everyone with a clue knew Dixon would hack and slap this game up
-
We practiced all week for the sunflower, it is what it is.
-
is there a conference poy that no other p5 school wanted to save us next year?
-
is there a conference poy that no other p5 school wanted to save us next year?
We lost. You don't have to move the goalposts to next year.
-
oscar won there by 12 last year. BID!
-
I sure we would have won easily today had Miles missed the game like he did last year at TCU.
-
Miles was super mid today. Take the L, old blood!
-
Redshirting Colbert instead of Finster might have been a regrettable decision.
You're gonna need to explain this one, bud.
-
Are people really still stumping for oscar?
-

We’re extremely weak inside, and he’s a 6’10” 240 lb body. Obviously losing Dave N’Guessan exacerbates the problem significantly. Maybe he’s too raw, Tang and staff obviously know better than I do.
We really need Dave back.
-
Can you play in four games in hoops and still redshirt like you can in football?

Yeah, that and Finster isn't a big. We definitely need a traditional big, at times, but like you said the coaches know if he's ready or not and I don't know how many minutes would have been there for him anyway, particularly if N'Guessan didn't get hurt. Looks like he's getting ready to come back, he was in the walk through yesterday.
-

No, not really. You're eligible for a medical redshirt if you play in less than 10% of the teams games.

I only used Finster as an example, because I’d heard there was debate over they would use the redshirt on. I think we’re in general agreement. I’d take a flyer on Colbert, but what do I know?
Tomlin is a train wreck defensively. Bey Bey (what are we calling him?) is competent imo, but needs help. Ish plays tough in there but is slow and small. Why don’t we ever double? I’m confused by the defensive strategy other than ball pressure and other perimeter stuff.
So often put guys are looking away from the ball, not helping, flat-footed. The transition defense is really frustrating — other than Sills.
-
Tomlin on D is seriously the worst!
-
Defense comes down to coaching tho, so it’s gotta be tough to create a care free open style of offense, but be disciplined on the other end.
-

It's ultimately up to the player as to whether or not they red shirt. They could have red shirted both or neither of them and it wouldn't have made a difference. Some of the minutes Ish has been playing are minutes that Finister got earlier in the season.
We do double team, did it a bit today. Double teaming is pretty tough when your defense weakness is in the front court, like we are.
-
The player can be open to not red shirting and not know he’s not going to get minutes the entire season from it as well, which is what is happening right now, and his mannerisms show it.
-
Tomlin is still learning how to play the game of bball.

He is and he’s fun to watch, but he makes a rattle rimming duck for the ages and then gives two up. His curve needs to go quickly!
-
Our offense greatly contributed to our bad defensive numbers today. When you turn the ball over 19 times against a team that likes to run, your going go get smoked on the other end. Unfortunately, Quis and Keyontae had a big hand in this.
-
Hopefully, everyone second guesses Tang next year when Colbert comes on strong and gives a real presence at center.
-
I'm thinking this is the best thing that could have happened before Tuesday's game.
-
I’m looking forward to the day when beating KU isn’t the season. Unfortunately we have a Baylor mole as a head coach.
-
Are people really still stumping for oscar?
It's shtick, but unfortunately it's not funny shtick.

Stuntz and I tried to tell you guys this for 10 years!
-
Was at game. We could have tried to give TCU the ball on purpose and not turn the ball over as much as we did. Was ugly. Too many try hard flashy passes. Which I only say because they didn't work.
Also just a totally pud game environment. Nice enough arena, there isn't a single bad seat. But we looked an hour before tip and there were maybe 20 tickets left. Then right at tip, the place is maybe half full.
-
TCU has the ugliest court in the land challenged only by Oregon. My gawd, who makes those choices and why?
-
I like Oregon’s a lot. Imo, Oregon nailed it and TCU belly flopped the non traditional design.
-
Court looks cool in person. Definitely sucks on TV.

I think it's a TV thing. That picture above isn't as obnoxious as how it appears on TV. It looks like they painted it with reflected silver paint on TV.
-
Is that an old rodeo arena?

instead of yearning to have a game at Ahearn, maybe Weber (haha) arena would be a better spot.

I disagree. Maybe it was what both teams were wearing, but the contrast between the court and players was terrible. It all just blends together.
-
It's bad on TV. Everything and everyone looks washed
-
Camera view was awful on TV as it seemed like it was zoomed out more than it needed to be. Yes, everything looked washed. Cats should have worn purple or black that game.

Lavender blends with their whites moreso than being a court issue. Was confusing for my old eyes.
