Alright, kids brought home some bug a week ago and one was barfing and the other had a cough and stuffy nose (different viruses? no maybe). Anyway, I picked up some of the nasally stuff which is very minor but I've got a persistent ticklish chest and cough with some mucus. I am taking mucinex, lots of water, steam showers, vitamins. What magical possibly native american or gypsy or misc. shaman/witch based cure is there for this that I don't know about?

I get bad headaches when it rains, plz help
-
A lot of headaches are due to atmospheric pressure changes IE/Cold front moving through.
most weather apps will have a "arthritis" index or something similar. If it is in the red look for sinus/headache troubs.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
-
So I should change the weather?
-
Be aware and prepare

I used to get really bad headaches that coincided with weather changes. My doctor said to stop drinking caffeine. It totally worked.

The trick to this beast that I've found out, is everything you've already listed. So far it's failed, but I keep doing the same steps. I did try some reverse jinx on Saturday night by trying to smoke a cigar, but I could barely make it through it and it backfired. :frown:

Try taking an entire tub of Vicks and rubbing it all over your entire body. You might need help with your back. Oh, and don't put the Vick's on your balls. Skip that part.

For nose stuff and even headaches get some eucalyptus oil and drop some in the hot shower and then a few drops on a hot towel and put it over your nose when laying in bed watching tv or whatever. Opens you up and makes you feel better at least temporarily. I also carry around one of these in the winter especially.

SD ask your doc for a Z-pack

Also, keep flonase/fluticasone at all times. Get a runny nose and start blasting it 2 or 3 times per day.

I like to use the Zinc lozenges like Cold-Eeze, etc.

I get bad headaches when it rains, plz help
I used to get bad headaches with the rain stopped. A summer morning rain, then sunny/hot the rest of the day was the worst. When it rains is when I can breath the best.
I had a deviated septum, sinus polyp/tissue removal & sinus stretching surgery 8 years ago. 4 years ago I had a revision surgery where they re-stretched some sinus & removed some polyps/tissue that had re-grown. The second surgery was not nearly as bad as the first.
The sinus surgery changed everything for the better. I still have that old love of rain though. It just puts me in a good mood. We’ve had a heavy on/off rain for 36 hours that’s getting ready to stop & I’m a little sad. I still get pissy when they say it’s going to rain & it doesn’t.
Before the surgery, when the rain stopped I’d take Tylenol & eat something spicy to make my nose run & clear out my sinuses. That helped some.

XLear Spray for nasal congestion

For any sinus stuff, might I recommend my personal favorite drug, Sudafed? Does a wonder for stuffiness stuff and gets ya MOVIN’.
I always get a little sad to see my colds go. “Until next time, Sudafed!”

Alka-Seltzer cold works best for me. Also, Chloraseptic spray has been a life saver to get me to stop coughing temporarily when it gets too annoying, or before bed.
-
if its late in the afternoon and you need some cold medicine then i would recommend taking equal parts NyQuil and DayQuil. Or as i like to call it, Quil.

RED ALERT
ARTHRITIS LEVEL "VERY HIGH"
SINUS PRESSURE "HIGH"

SD, I called my doc to get steroids today. A week of this crap is enough. I got crap to do. I'll let you know how it goes and report back ASAP.
