I might be more excited about this exhibition than all but a handful of oscar games. Full on #tanggang.
-
When does this tip off?
-
7pm on ESPN+

Who was it that whipped KSU's ass last year? Fort Hays?

we're not here to live in the past, spracne.
-
I'm not answering any questions about Pre-Tang.
-

I agree. I’m not at the “buy a huggieville shirt and wear it to the Lawrence Hyvee” level before the first exhibition game, but not that far off.
-
I’m also looking forward to learning all the players names!
-
Who was it that whipped KSU's ass last year? Fort Hays?
not last year, sir
-
I’m also looking forward to learning all the players names!
Renocat better get his ass ITT
-
I think I am going to enjoy Tang-ing things. Time outs are now Tang outs, stuff like that.
-
ESPN+ sucks so much ass!!!
-
Guys I know it's Washburn, but this has been pretty fun to watch so far.
-
Washburn's coach looks a lot like Steve Nash
-
ESPN+ sucks so much ass!!!
First few minutes were laggy, but it’s better the last 5 min
-
What the eff was that technical foul
-
Guys I know it's Washburn, but this has been pretty fun to watch so far.
Totally!

Totally!
Yes they seem like athletic try-hards which is great
-
The Dutchman! (He’s Dutch right?)
-
Listening, sounds like we crash the glass a lot
-
What a relief to have an IRL good coach again
-
Buncha Dominque Suttons
-
Extremely fast and long. Very Baylor-esque and sexy
-
Buncha Dominque Suttons
Some of them are longer, but yes
-
You idiots this team isn’t Doms
-
You idiots this team isn’t Doms
Relax
-
I didn't expect Johnson to be as good at dribbling as he is.
-
Our best offense is to miss shots, blockout like crazy, rebound and put it back is some acrobatic way.
-
Don’t love the long sleeve from Desi but damn I love his play
-
When was it that some people were suggesting that we hire Chipman?
-
When was it that some people were suggesting that we hire Chipman?
Probably just the Asbury to Huggs era
-
Ben Boyle is very good at his job imo
-
I don’t think this team is going to have any of the patented 7 minute scoring droughts that Weber’s teams had every game
-
First Tangyoop of the season
-
Ben Boyle is very good at his job imo
And his partner is shittier as ever, rambling on and on about football
-
We are deep as eff, this is nuts. Still haven’t seen Colbert yet.
-
Ben Boyle is very good at his job imo

Yeah who was the woman they had so games before? Just let her replace Stan
-
I like enjoying watching basketball again

Missy Decker Heidrick
-
Glad to see we're taking care of business
-

Haven’t seen one situation yet where I thought “this guy is probably not D1.” I suppose we are just playing Washburn, but still.
-
Alley Oops, Rim Protection, Fast breaks. We Back!
-
Score? :dunno: (ftp://:dunno:)
-
WashU 21 KState 45 0:42 1st Half (kstatesports.com) (https://www.kstatesports.com/sidearmstats/mbball/summary)
-
Score? :dunno: (ftp://:dunno:)
45-21 45 seconds left in first half
-
this may just be the alley oop talking but Green looks the part of a Big 12 wing
-
Hard to enjoy the game without the sound of constant screeching from the sideline
-
Hard to enjoy the game without the sound of constant screeching from the sideline
Can’t believe they knew how to play D without coach having arms up all the time instructing them on D guarding technique
-
Ben Boyle is very good at his job imo

Yeah who was the woman they had so games before? Just let her replace Stan
Missy Decker Heidrick
And she talks over the pbp guy thee entire game. No thanks!
-
Ben Boyle is very good at his job imo
When he successfully subdues himself, yes
-
Colbert gets in. Immediate two hand dunk
-
This is fun
-
I did not expect Finnister to look this good this early
-
Can’t believe we had that other guy as our coach for so long when this was available
-
my espn+ experience- every timeout stops the stream and my screen goes black. if I hit the play button on the ipad/phone, it goes to the loop commercial with di khalid teeing off, a clip of peyton, etc without sound and never goes back to the game. I then have to reset phone or ipad to get the game back on.
p cool!

You don’t Roku?
-
How on earth did Iyiola get all of these minutes over Colbert?
-
I’m kind of shocked they had a secret scrimmage with Southern Illinois and it was close. Like, they had to comeback to beat them.

i don’t and they don’t have an espn app for LG televisions
-

Tang said he was sitting in the first half(I’m guessing disciplinary reasons)
-
Washburn is small but the big men seem very Baylor’y.
Even the really skinny guy can run fast and is pretty nimble.he goes up strong too. He can even drive from the perimeter. Quite impressive.
23 made a really nice catch and finish on a look ahead.
N’Guessan is long as crap and looks like he’s a 5-year NBA vet from 1989.
Is the dude from Florida State supposed to be a wing or a banger? Probably both. Charles Barkley is 6’ 4” as well.
I haven’t gotten to the part where Colbert plays yet.
-
These guys are going to play their asses off all non-con. There are tons of minutes up for grabs. Athletic tryhards is right.
-
I like that Ish is now like the 10th best player on the team instead of the 4th
-
I think we’re not gonna be shitty.
-
N’Guessan is already my favorite, I wish I could rep a Netherlands flag in section 17 with my Wichita pak'r buds.
Colbert is JYC AF, maybe the most JYC OAT

I used Roku and it worked well this time. I did have the same problem as everyone else for the football game earlier this year where it forced it to start from the beginning.
Either way, might be worth getting a cheap Roku just for the ESPN app for games.
-
If I had to guess who the starting 5 will be based on last night's performance...
Nowell
Johnson
Tomlin
Carter
Colbert
But these guys will be quick of the bench and see plenty of playing time.
N'Guessan
Sills
Greene
Iyiola
Massoud
Not much playing time
Thomas
Walk-ons
I think we will redshirt Finister and Manning.
Pretty exciting because we look like we have depth.
-
I think stills will start over Cam but honestly cam surprised me with how effective he was
-
I'm pretty low BBIQ but I will be more likely to tune in to Cat basketball if the days of 8-minute scoring droughts are truly ended. Basketball has the potential to be a very fun-filled spectacle if approached in the right manner!

The only drought you will be worrying about is going 8-minutes without a slam dunk.
-
That was fun! :bball:
-
remember that dude who was really good (all big 12) that transferred? last name of pack.
-
Nope never heard of him. Must have been B.T.
-
remember that dude who was really good (all big 12) that transferred? last name of pack.
Honestly not sure he would start on this team
-
You know how I can tell this team is the exact opposite of any of oscar's teams? It's in the way the players walk. There's kind of a strut. But nothing too cocky. You can see it when you look closely at their asses when they are walking. Don't take my word for it. Look at Dominique Sutton's ass when he walks. Then, compare and contrast!
-

Honestly none of oscar's players would. Including the two that did last night.

This is true. I would rather have Desi in place of Quis and Ishmael should never see the floor.
-
That’s definitely the somewhat delicate thing Tang is going to have to manage, Sills is better than Quis.
-
I sure hope Tang figures out who his best players are.
-
I feel like we are missing an annoying white guy that cant miss from 3 from this group if we are being honest.
-
Because of ESPN+'s refusal to recognize my payment, I missed most of the first half and our best basketball. I was playing catchup the second half in identifying all the new players and even though I was expecting sloppy the team exceeded my expectations the start of the second half. Really liked what I saw of Tomlin and, of course, Colbert.
Another thing. I like the things Tang says ahd the phrases he employs. Little things like emphasizing two hands on the basketball -- no more of those one-handed lazy passes of Oscar's teams -- not playing the scoreboard in an exhibition, which was kind of aspirational last night, and just the whole focus on rebounding.
Obviously, the team and coaches have a lot of work to do. But I think the talent is there. One of the things I hoped for Tang's first recruiting class was a solid foundation for when the elite talent starts arriving next year. It appears that is the case.
-

As a point guard? I'm not sure about that, at all. He was 0-5 with 4 fouls. What in the world did you see?
-

I missed this. Who reported on it? Goodman was reporting everyone else's but i maybe missed the Cats.

7 assists and a glowing review from his head coach about him making the offense go.

Maybe something changed last night but people close to the team seem to think that eventually they'll both start with Sills at the 2
-
Based on the HugeCat smell test, this is who I would like to see starting
#1 Desi Sills 6’2” guard
#2 Keyontae Johnson, 6’6” wing
#3 Nae’Qwan Tomlin 6’8” wing
#4 David N’Guessan, 6’9? wing
#5 Jerrel Colbert 6’10” post
In my IMHO, Those are the five most talented guys we have. This is who I would like to see in the rotation for a total of 10 guys splitting playing time.
#1 Markquis Nowell 5’8” guard
#2-3 Camryn Carter 6’3” wing
#2-3 Tykei Greene 6’4” wing
#3-4 Dorian Finister 6’5” wing
#5 Abayomi Iyiola 6’10” post
It wouldn’t hurt my feelings if Ismael Massoud never saw the floor.

I think that’s right, with Cam coming off the bench. Cam is probably the best pure scoring guard we have so I could see his minutes cutting into Quis minutes when the combo of he and Desi becomes the clear best lineup as the season goes on. I feel really comfortable with Greene, Nowell, Sills, and Carter handling the ball, it’s a really nice backcourt with solid depth.
-
Tomlin is 6’10” 210

That is a really good starting 5 for a team built in 3 or so months.
-
Watching guys that looked like they were really enjoying themselves was fun. I never ever felt like oscar's teams looked like they were having any fun
-
Noticeable lack of floor slaps tho
-
Checking this list for players to bench!

-
Maybe if Nowell learns to look like he's enjoying himself out there, he can earn some minutes in mop up time.
-
Actually watched the first half last night and in general enjoyed with how much energy we play with.
The good:
Energy
Length
General unselfishness
Looked like we have fun
The bad:
FT shooting
The ugly:
Turnovers, good lord was that sloppy, but also early
-
In my IMHO
i guess you go way back to the early ksufans years :surprised:

Lurked forever. Some of the funniest posters ever. Diehard cat fans. Had a couple DM convo’s with fatty, good dude and a huge loss. I miss what it used to be.
