Interesting that the fan base has treated them completely different

hmmm

They don’t see color in College Station so we can rule that out at least.
-
Kevin even had a player win the Heisman so you can add that to the pile

Jimbo has a National Championship ring tho.

Ron lost to KU three times in a row. A fireable offense for a football coach without any other factors being included.

Yep. I mean hell we fired Snyder for losing to ISU.
-
Now I just want to know if any coach since like 2000 lost 3 times to KU and kept their job.
-
According to Wikipedia:
Dan McCarney (ISU): since 2000, he lost three times to KU (2003, 2005, 2006). Fired in 2006.
Paul Rhoads (ISU): lost twice to KU (2009, 2014). Fired in 2015.
Matt Campbell (ISU): only lost this year to KU. Seat is getting warm.
Gary Patterson (TCU): only lost to KU in 2018. Fired 2021.
Guy Morriss (Baylor): lost twice to KU in 2003 and 2007, although he avoided playing the Jayhawks every year thanks to divisions (schedulemakers). Fired in 2007.
Realignment and divisional play messes up the stats a bit going back to 2000 (and after realignment KU was so historically bad I don't think they beat any team 3 times), but so far it looks like 3 is the max any coach in the Big 12 has been allowed in this millenium.

At that time, he'd only lost to ku twice. It was 3 games later when he lost to ku for the third time and got told his ass was canned but could finish the year (which looking back, was kind of weird).
-

Kevin just rolled the ball out there though and let them play. Jumbo is doing it the right way with the right kids.
-
What am I missing re: Jimbo/Sumlin? I see very little love for Jimbo, those fans are pissed they can’t fire him due to his insane contract/buyout.
-
A&M is clearly a disaster right now, but I'm not buying the reasoning for those three players being suspended. It was widely reported that whatever the suspendable offense was, it was something that happened in the locker room after the south carolina game. I might end up looking like a fool, but I absolutely don't believe the players were smoking weed in the visiting locker room after the game ended.
-
It wasn't just the act of smoking weed. It was the accompanying weed psychosis, the jazz music, and the frenetic dancing.
-
Where would you get baked for the plane ride home?
-

On the plane?
-
I have taken weed to multiple foreign countries, I don't know why MIR thinks it's implausible to get it from Texas to South Carolina
-
Maybe it was an oil pen. Maybe it was just a jule. Maybe it was grass. Maybe it was that stuff you put on your fingers and looks like smoke.
-
evert time I think about jimbo’s buyout, I laugh. i laugh because holy crap.
- 2022: $85,950,000
- 2023: $76,800,000
- 2024: $67,550,000

- 2030: $9,950,000
-
I guess I would just hope for the best as well lmao
-
Jimbo's job has weird pressure now. They aren't going to fire him for wins and losses without making him absolutely rich. However, he had better be THE MOST HR-compliant employe in the entire building.
-
They’re going to find the dead hookers in the closet whether they exist or not

Doesn’t that explain perfectly what’s happening? They paid the man so damn much he’s incentivized to run the squeakiest clean program instead of winning games.

I have taken weed to multiple foreign countries, I don't know why MIR thinks it's implausible to get it from Texas to South Carolina
The implausible is whipping out a pen or joint and passing it around with 75 other dudes and another 25 coaches and staff in an incredibly confined space during a time of increased sensibility and anger. This is the equivalent of smoking weed in your boss's office while they're giving you a quarterly review, that isn't going particularly great. I get these dudes are 18 or 19 years old, but that would be way beyond bold and stupid.
-
Remember the Yella Wood mafia at Auburn were an eyelash away from convincing enough people that Bryan Harsin was banging one of the young staffers he brought with him from BSU.
So it’s probably only a matter of time before a BMD clique at A&M starts up some kind of sordid rumor about Jimbo.
-
I'm giving myself credit for immediately sniffing out that lie too

This. We are talking Tejas culture, after all.

Weren't there rumors about Jimbo's wife and a player from back when he was at FSU?
-
I think that was Mullen at Florida.
-
I'm giving myself credit for immediately sniffing out that lie too
yeah. TX ags will start cooking up hilariously bad old man rumors to try and oust him unless he turns it around.

Yeah I think she was running around but I don't think it was with FSU players, it was some dude in Tallahassee and supposedly another dude who played tennis at Florida.

I think it could be plausible they had a vape pen. I don't think any kid is dumb enough to fire up a joint though.

How did Kevin Sumlin's recruiting class rankings compare?
-
How did Kevin Sumlin's recruiting class rankings compare?
Too lazy to look it up but I'm guessing Sumlin was top 10/15ish every year which should be the baseline for the 2nd best school in the most talent rich state. Jimbo supposedly pulled the GOAT class of all time last year but it doesn't look like many of them will make it 3 or 4 years.
-
would jimbo or mel have said no to 5 years, 50 million?
-
Speaking of Mel, did you guys know Mel Brooks is still alive? He's 96!

It doesn't occur to me until watching but then I wondered if this was what Tom Breneman was attempting to reference or making a joke about.

It boggles the mind how a fan would react to that any way other than embarrassment.

Dunno if I got the wording exactly correct but I know that’s part of their advertising literature

No matter what happens to college football, I will ALWAYS tune in to watch aTm struggle. Always. There's no school on the planet I wouldn't support loudly and passionately if they were playing the aggie cultists. I would cheer on the taliban if they sent a 2 deep to college station with a chance to win.
-
The fact that the day he landed at A&M to accept the job they handed him a fake national title trophy saying "20XX National Champ" still cracks me up.
-
Lol, I had not heard about that

a lot can happen in the next 74 years you guys need to relax

That amount is just bonkers.

The worst part is those nitwits will brag and brag about having the money to do it without a single thought to how that $75 million should really be spent.
I'll choose to believe that Jimbo will donate a substantial portion of that money to good causes.
They are a disgrace.

As a UT fan and general sane person, it has been an absolute delight to watch winning coaches go to A&M to die for the last 15+ years.

For a short bit when aTm first came into the B12 I nibbled a little on the Corp of Cadets mythos.
Then I learned the real story of that Fake Army (with some exceptions).
Then I learned their matching band has been playing the same songs and doing the same show forever.
Then I learned about all their weird ass traditions.
