saw this and wanted to gauge it based on goEMAW users. i assume most people here were regular voters ten years ago and also are now, so i just want to know if you generally are more interested in/more motivated by elections/voting than you were ten years or so ago.

I am more interested/motivated. But, I always assumed that was because I’m getting older.

unfortunately, there's no way to untangle the aging of the goEMAW user base from a national trend towards increasing engagement with national politics.

I don't know if I would say that I am more interested. I have always read up on the candidates and voted, and I still think I have far better things to spend money on than political campaigns. I never used to be worried at all if my guy didn't win, though, and Trump has definitely changed that.

I've been much more motivated to vote in the past couple of elections. Because I think the stakes are MUCH higher. At the same time, I feel like it's fighting a losing battle. Like showing up at the already surrounded Alamo. Doing it more out of duty or whatever.

Hey, I'm an old man and I have been fighting this crap since the seventies. The awful facts are things haven't changed for the better and have gotten worst. The rich own the media and brain wash our simple minds into doing what they want and we do what they want without even knowing that what we're doing. We're basically mumped.
