I interrupt this thread with this accouchement; SNL is back to being funny like really funny as it was years ago. Check last night's Weekend Update : https://youtu.be/r7drK5-sMns

This made me realize I’ve reach the age where nothing really disappoints me because I’ve lowered my expectations for everything. I assume every show finale is going to suck and in the rare instance one gets it right (The Good Place) I’m amazed by it.

Hell yeah, life is significantly better with low expectations

Lol. SNL is not back to being funny. This was probably one of their worst seasons in a long time. But I do always enjoy the final weekend update of the season. They do this every year.

No, not a steak guy, it's like that everywhere. Whether I'm making one myself or having one at the Capital Grille, a steak done fantastically only meets expectations, it's not the same experience you get from other expensive entrees that are memorably great. Even while eating a steak, before it's over the experience really becomes just finishing what you paid for.

What was the expectation-setting steak that ruined all other steaks for you?

Did you see last week's show? Some of the skits very pretty funny. Your right about last year, most of it was down right boring. This is something that new and refreshing. From the '70's to the '90's they were great.

Until you see the dinner ticket, and it takes most of your paycheck. Then you say "goddamn that was good, but was it that good".

I think it's that I can't even remember what the best steak I've had is outside of when I grilled one for myself a few weeks ago. I'll take stunted's word for it that wagyu is great and I'll try one at some point.
Y'all are acting like I said steak was gross.

I only eat steak a handful of times a year and it's pretty much always better than I expect.

Restaurant steak usually isn't worth the price. I often order scallops when fiancé wants a steak.
