Lavender’s baybee!
-
we're back in it!
-
Keep feeding Bradford, he is in beast mode.
-
lol our only 3 pointer is a running hail mary
-
We are still in this
-
I'm told it's "modern basketball" to play four shitty shooting guards and keep five centers and forwards on the bench, but I hope Bradford gets 15 shots the 2nd half.
-
we can do this!
-
Need dejuan to do dejuan things

[redacted] did you watch this team when we played two forwards at a time?

Good fight. Too little too late

little chippy at the end :excited:

We got back in this game by bombing 3's but when it was a 3 and 5 point game late we forced two different plays in the paint.

Liked what I saw today. Guys are finally starting to find their way into the lane a bit, and it's creating opportunities. Love Bradford. Gordon is starting to carve out his role (oboarding like crazy, hit three when he's way open.) McGuirl has got so show a little rough ridin' patience on offense. So many awful awful shots and turnovers. If he could play more like A guy instead of THE guy, this would be a better team. Need pack to be more aggressive. Overall, we're getting better on both sides.

I missed this. I was amazed at how much crap TCU talked the entire game. You see that dude bump Dajuan in the tunnel after he hit the three going into halftime?

No moral victories

I totally agree with this Pack gets too tentative at times, he deferred way too much in the first half. We need some depth badly, I hope Luke will actually be able to help. Selton might be the biggest boom or bust player in the history of the world.
-
yeah, we need another shooter way bad. Hopefully Luke is that dude. And Selton, I have no idea what to think about him. Other than that his offensive game needs to be more inside out. If he happens to get it going from outside that day, rough ridin' great. I'd rather not have him need to miss seven to find out. Get to the cup, get your feel, then let a couple loose to see how it feels that day.

Was Oscar playing a forward with Bradford or two bigs when he got do by 20-plus to a mediocre TCU out of the gate. Nope, that bad basketball was "modern basketball." This team isn't going to beat anyone shooting 28 percent from 3 and putting up 25 or more from behind the arc, and that's basically our game. Now am I surprised an Oscar-coached team can't execute in crunch time when it tries to post, something that is never emphasized despite our personnel, of course not. It's Appleton oscar on the bench, ffs.

We are so bad at shooting the basketball. and defense.

Our sniper is hurt

I half-watched the last 5-6 minutes while driving but it looked to me like the players played and got back into it down 3 with the ball and then oscar called timeout and they got destroyed from there.

??? You're so disoriented that you've changed what you're mad about.
The bottom line is that we don't take too many 3s we just need to make more of them. We're 53rd in the country in percentage of 3 point attempts. I know you watched Hoosiers and proably played before there was a shot clock but the number of threes we take isn't abnormally high, especially in a 4 guard offense, even moreso when the back up 5 is really an awkward stretch 4.
-
If we were any good at outside shooting, 25 plus wouldn't be too many. But we simply suck at it. And Oscar stands on the court greenlighting "modern basketball" away at the expense of coaching an effective offense that matches the personnel he stumbled into. Clank, clank, clank.
Another consequence of "modern basketball" Oscar style is huge FT disparity as teams are more than happy to lay off as we essentially turn it over from beyond the line.

What do you think we should do offensively?
-
we take too many dumb mid range shots. that's way worse than any 3 we take by far. just baffles me that it's still a thing in college bball. these coaches are getting paid millions, yet they're too stuck in their ways to add such a simple change in strategy that's shown to be far superior.
also does oscar not have our guys practice shooting or what.
