I think someone leaked that he was considered/they were considering dumping wells but I don't think it's official.

Seems like it's imminent....

The email reads like the work of the real-life version of Jean-Ralphio, and it is as hilarious as it is ridiculous. Some of Spiegelberg's best suggestions:
Get Kingsbury a nickname. Suggestions include "GQ," "Hollywood," and "Swagger."
Get Kingsbury a professional stylist, specifically Fred Segal, who has apparently styled "Micheal" Jackson, Brad Pitt, Madonna, Ashley Olson, oscar Willis, The Beatles, Carrie Underwood, and Adam Lambert. "The list goes on," boasts Spiegelberg.
Get Kingsbury on the "B-list," which will somehow lead to his being invited to the Oscars and Grammys. Also New York Fashion Week

I like at A&B called Pepper a bunch of low grade morons who suck at simple research

Texas Tech hired Bobby Knight, let's not get into an outrage contest here.

If Art Briles gets hired, it absolutely won't be Kirby Hocutt's decision. I also didn't realize that Briles graduated from there.

I’m admittedly ignorant to how all this works but you are saying that Kirby gets told who he is going to hire?

To some extent every AD has to have their UP sign off on coaching hires. If it's Briles, you would think this would go beyond the normal UP rubber stamp. It also seems like, if you believe the rumors, that this is being donor driven. I don't think there is any way that Hocutt would even fire Wells right now, that before even getting into who he would hire. If you have donors ponying up to pay the buyout and also pay a new staff, he might not have a choice. They seemed perfectly happy and comfortable paying for those attorneys and releasing the "findings" of the Art Briles investigation, so they seem quite serious about this. How much pressure is the university leadership willing to endure?

Didn’t he always wear long sleeves to cover up a Texas Tech tattoo?

What on earth
-
I would want him back in this conference so much if he just wasn't such a horrible rape enabler.
-
Wells has been confirmed by Tech boards as coming back for another year. However, rumor mill is saying Briles is very interested in the recently vacated OC position on the staff.
I just don't see it happening though. Briles is known poison at this point.

This is bad and about to get infinitely worse.

I wouldn’t have him on my sideline, the distraction isn’t helping anything.
Lebby should exercise better judgment, watching the BV response, it doesn’t appear he knew this was happening until after it did.
i don’t know how long briles should bear his cross but, again, i don’t want him near our program

Eh this is bad but will go away when they ask Art to not be on the sidelines wearing the gear. Unless I'm missing something bigger
-
I think we need a Rick Daris behind the scenes exclusive on this one.

Did you happen to catch OU fans reaction to this? OU fans were already down on Lebby, this won't help, at all. I think that Lebby's explanation is perfectly fine but if you believe his head coach and his athletic director, that they had no idea, you have to think there will be some repercussions for that. Even if the message is "hey Jeff, you can't have him on the sideline anymore" that's an issue if his stance is "he's family and I want him around." Again, I'm fine with his explanation but the follow up from Guerin Emig is interesting to me because Art has never been caught on the sideline, wearing gear, after one of Kendall's games, or any of Lebby's games at Ole Miss for that matter.
People wouldn't even let this dude coach 1A high school football, this isn't just going to go away.
Clams I think the answer to your question is when he shows contrition, he can maybe start the process of seeking redemption with some one, anyone, allowing him the grace to do so. He and literally everyone involved never saying sorry or even expressing that they could have and should have done things differently is the exact reason why redemption will never come.
-
I hadn't followed the fan response at all. Gotcha.
-
I don't see Lebby making it to 2024 with the Sooners.
-
My recollection of briles is metalhead sending him many e-bags of dicks.

Art looks quite gaunt. I wonder if there's something going on with him.
-
He suffers from a rare condition called, being nearly 70.

LMAO at how quickly "boots and shorts" rocketed into my awareness this season.
-
Officer Dangle was doing that years ago.

New boot goofin'

Digging in huh? For the record this is what the athletic director said

Either Lebby is saying Castiglione is full of crap or he doesn't care what Castiglione has to say.
-
Ngl had to look up photos of art briles to even recognize him
-
This sounds like an SEC problem.
-

He looks like he wouldn't be opposed to wearing a vial of someone else's blood around his neck
-
The biggest non-story story of the weekend. OU regularly invites Barry Switzer and his players, Joe Mixon, Baker Mayfield, and on and on. Fans are faking outrage because their offense isn't all-world and they still think they should be winning nattys (even though we're going on 23 years without one)

I was thinking he looked very much like an oklahoma fan, not that your description doesn't fit that, just "generic oklahoma fan from Ardmore OK who just got back from Lake Texhoma for the Labor day weekend" kinda vibes.
-
Remember when Dan Hawkins got canned and then was lurking in the endzone to watch his kiddo. that was a lot funnier than this
-
I think the best part of this is the internal turmoil at OU. I know we don't play them but having them collapse would be fun.

Or Mizzou fan at Lake of the Ozarks

Right! Some people keep focusing on what they perceive to be false outrage from fans and media, which is weird, while completely ignoring that Lebby clearly did this very public thing, even though his athletic director and head coach told him not to do it and were clearly pissed that he did.

Mods, please add ou to the thread title

Looks like Lebby bent the knee yesterday in his press conference.
