Title: Trump Pulls Ads In Battleground States
Post by: MakeItRain on October 07, 2020, 09:42:29 PM
Trump has pulled his ads in Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ohio.
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/henrygomez/trump-campaign-ads-pulled-back-ohio-wisconsin

I think the only real significance here is that he's broke. Super pac ads are still running and at this point I really question the effectiveness of campaign ads. When there's literally 3-4 campaign ads running every 2 minute break, I'm certain where we're to the point where the ads become white noise.

I'm much more interested to see the other ways in which their lack of cash will effect the campaign.

Pubs have $248 million in cash on hand per OpenSecrets, of that RNC has $114 million.

It's your take that he's pulling ads from three battleground states he absolutely needs because he's doing well with money right now?

I'm just telling you what Open Secrets reported from the FEC today.

It has nothing to do with strategy.

While this thread is about the potential economic impact of the election I’m very happy to make it a dual thread (not the first) for you to tell us about how your man Trump is actually in good shape money wise dax. The floor is yours.

I just re-read my posts and I saw no words from me about Trump being "in good shape".    But LOL at the thinking in the year of our Flying Spaghetti Monster 2020 that TV ads are where it's all at in political advertising.

They've spent nearly $200M on online ads, the last available numbers for online ads, they spent $18 million dollars from 8/31 to 9/20.  $40 million in August.

We'll put another one down who thinks TV AD's are the be all/end all of 2020 campaigns.

Ah, so they've pulled back on their online ad spending too. They are running low on cash

can we mod this dumb stuff and go back to speculating whether I will get like $4,000 for my brood from Trump or like $10,000 for my brood from Biden?

Trump social media spending in the states where the campaign is pulling TV ads has increased dramatically in the last 10 days.   In Iowa for example Trump is outspending Biden 2:1 on Facebook

Facebook is a cesspool of downgrades (MAGA)

For every MAGA there's a BidenVoter having another meltdown on FB.

online ads are WaaaY cheaper than TV ads. Diverting funds from TV to online shows they are trying to dramatically slow their burn rate

Can you tell me more about $10,000 for your brood from Biden?  I currently get $8000 for my brood from Trump.

I was referring to the Ryan/Khann plan to give $2,000 per American. I don't really know what will happen.  I just assume that a big stimulus/child tax credit will probably be the one thing that they actually pass.
