My wife (libtard) told me she read that she was for felons having guns. I'm also for felons having the same gun rights as everyone else so I'm pretty much on board with her so far. what are the peggy pos and nancy negs of this person?
-
I only know that she’s Catholic so she must be anti-capital punishment.

I feel like trump missed an opportunity by not picking the cuban lady.
-
Twitter people say she and her religious group inspired the hand maidens tale
-
I've heard this and heard that the lower court's decision was so stupid it would be difficult to agree with.

There have been some media reporting it as well but it isn't true.

I can't get that link to open on my phone, but they don't need her vote to make the lower court's ruling law. The best the liberal justices could hope for is a tie and that won't be good enough.
-
She’s mumped at least 5 times without subsequent abortions.
-
This tells me more about her than anything else I've heard.

Not having sought out any information on her, I just learned that she's been a judge for three years. Like, that's it. Three years.
-
Yeah she will be on the court until like 2050.
-
Trump just signed his ticket out of office.
-
Yeah she will be on the court until like 2050.
I would be terrified to be a Supreme Court justice. I bet one gets shot within the next 20 years.
-
Trump just signed his ticket out of office.
Holding a Supreme Court judge pick hostage wasn’t going to save him
-
Like, can we nominate someone who doesn't harbor a lifelong internal struggle with the concept of separation of church and state? Is that an option?
-

It was his hail mary IMO but I'm not very smart at these political games.
-

Ya I don’t understand what they’re doing. This nomination appeals to religious conservatives and hardcore republicans meanwhile republican candidates are losing elections left and right. Like, shouldn’t you try at least a little to broaden your base?

Don’t know anything about this opinion, but people need to not act like courts are responsible for maintaining the ACA. It’s a fact the law was pretty much gutted during the tax bill. Congress needs to fix it.

Seems like it would "necessary and proper" for all citizens of a modern nation (especially one that is in the process of 'being made great again') to have access to health care. The fact that this hasn't been addressed in a rational way is exhibit A for how dysfunctional congress has become.

Feigning being impressed that a judge nominated to the highest court can quote cases from “years ago.” Regular lawyer dorks like Spracne and Dickstone can quote cases from years ago.

Particularly given that she knew exactly what topics would be at hand. It isn't like there were going to be a bunch of questions about intricate property law precedent.
-
That being said, from what little I saw she seemed well prepared and quoting RBG about not speaking on hypothetical cases was brilliant.

I think he's saying the dumbing down of expectations of one of the greatest legal minds in the country is cringy, not anything she did.
-
reasons I found it cringey:
1) Seemed very staged
2) It's not impressive
3) Notes and preparation aren't weaknesses
4) Republicans jerking themselves off to it
-
also granted that all of these hearings are very staged and cringey but that one seemed especially bad.
I thought the conversation with Durbin was actually kind of interesting.

reasons I found it cringey:

3) Notes and preparation aren't weaknesses
4) Republicans jerking themselves off to it
1) Didn't seem so staged to the point of cringy?
2) On a scale of 1-10 on impressive? Maybe 6? She was solid.
3) Fine but give her a tad of credit?
4) There wasn't a ton of jerking off. Cruz maybe? And that was cringe worthy.
-
Just need more Amy Klobbuchar ranting about like Gin and Oxy Pelosi Jr.

nope
-
I guarantee she mooted her ass off and was well-prepared by the likes of Cruz (former TX Solicitor General) for the "tough" questions from the Democrats. Other than that, obviously a career law professor should be able to speak extemporaneously about any number of important cases, going back AT LEAST 5 years.

Yeah, that notes tweet was lol cringe. What a weird thing to get upset about though, it doesn't even have anything to do with her.
I didn't listen to much of this, but she sounded fine aside from very obviously lying during the Harris questioning. I didn't like her perjury tap dancing during that

The bar at this point has been set that as long as a supreme court justice doesn't start slobbering at their hearing screaming about how they like beer they are going to look pretty good.

Paralegals can. This was 1000% staged and she should be embarrassed that she needs that guy to run the stunt for her. Humiliating

Hey man I listen and learn here all the time. Point of clarification: I didn’t vote for trump
Uh, yeah. Neither did I. He knows that. He's just being a $!#*.
I didn't know that about either of you and I'm surprised by learning this.
Yeah I’ve been pretty open about it. I voted for some third party idiot.

reasons I found it cringey:
1) Seemed very staged
2) It's not impressive
3) Notes and preparation aren't weaknesses
4) Republicans jerking themselves off to it
1) Didn't seem so staged to the point of cringy?
2) On a scale of 1-10 on impressive? Maybe 6? She was solid.
3) Fine but give her a tad of credit?
4) There wasn't a ton of jerking off. Cruz maybe? And that was cringe worthy.
nope
yep. also why you're a doosh and not as smart as you think you are. you're ignorant and blinded to the point where you can't be even the least bit partial or objective to an argument and won't even look at the other side. sad. it's why the pit sucks.
Hey man I listen and learn here all the time. Just this week sys pointed out a contradiction I had with regards to the Bernie/Biden relationship that made me stop and think and 33 and I had a nice conversation about freaking abortion of all things where I learned something about late term abortion statistics. I just don't need to go into more detail on how cringey I thought that stunt and the reaction was.

Handmaiden conservobitch needs to know her place (#metoo - Liberal women only)
I disagree, dax. I think calling your employee the n-word does create a hostile work environment.

It’s fascinating to watch LiBots waffle between telling us about the complexity and nuances of our legal system and heralding the simplicity of it all with a singular sentence backed with zero depth nor a shred of detail.
Nice job

There really are no instances where calling someone the n-word is ok.

That on a stand alone basis is true. But that brings not a single detail of a legal case to the discussion. If that’s the only strike Libs have against this nominee then just step aside and enjoy her swearing in.

If it's true that calling someone the n-word is never ok, then there aren't going to be any details that suddenly make it ok.

That doesn’t tell me anything relative to what happens in a court of law.

She's a very smart semi-attractive woman with no hint of scandal. Kavanaugh's dumb ass set her up for a slam dunk.

She's a very smart semi-attractive woman with no hint of scandal. Kavanaugh's dumb ass set her up for a slam dunk.
Her support among Democrats has risen 18% to 32%. I guess I’m surprised that’s happened given how she has been portrayed by prominent voices on the left.
-
The “left” critique of Amy was always half assed. Republicans wisely put up a woman that Dems would be unwilling to drag. Of course, I also think a smart female (even if extremely conservative) will end up siding with the liberal wing on more issues than Pubs anticipate.
-
she seems fine, really
are there any good opinions she has written? I like when they write good.

What? How has she been portrayed and what prominent voices are you talking about? I haven't read or heard a single thing from a liberal that isn't simply questioning her record. It's you conservatives that insist on discussing things that are not at all relevant to how she applies jurisprudence.

Sidenote, you say a lot of stupid crap. You pick your spots when you post, but my god your post to stupid crap ratio is really high.

She seems like the mom that cooks spaghetti dinner for my hs football team, except for way smarter. Prob pretty great dem or pub.

While you and others are fawning over this white woman, I'll just remind you that she holds the legal opinion that calling someone the word n-word at work doesn't constitute harassment.
Has Sonia Sotomayor's name ever been typed on this blog?

I would like to read the opinion instead of just the meme spin headline. I can conceive of context where it shouldn't be harassment.
-
Ok I read it. It's doesn't really say what has been claimed, but it was also very boring so I hate her now.
-
The context wasn't one of the non-harrassing examples from my imagination, tho.

Sometimes (a lot of times) you read things into my posts that I’m not saying and then start freaking out.

puni - how about some gems of the opinion so that we don’t have to read it?
-
This is all pretty LOL considering that all of the senate rules that would have prevented the pubs from confirming ACB were changed by the dems. Here's a little modern history: Start at 2:00

There is no chance Biden packs the court, so his refusal to say so really does kind of piss me off.
-
Pubs have really owned the dems on getting Supreme Court justices confirmed outside of normal procedure
-
It's actually a self own since I has become a norm.

I mean I asked you two questions and you didn't answer either of them, so I'll continue to take your post at face value.

I don't think there's no chance, I think it's a wait and see. He also doesn't control how this is going to roll out.
People freaked out about John Roberts, but for the most part, the freak out was unfounded. I think if things like the essential repeal of the voting rights act continues to happen, and more rights continue to be stripped, the dems won't have a choice.
-
I’ve seen multiple ads for ACB. I’m honestly surprised someone thought it was worthwhile to spend the money in TX for that.

I think it was national because I've seen them in California. Seems really strange regardless

That won’t get a bit of traction. That’s like the kind of “test” law that abortion activists would pass as a straw man.
