Didn't look to see if there was a topic on this already, but I just got my cylindrical buckwheat pillow today. I am pumped to try it out tonight. Any other 'wheaters out there?
(p.s. I put a special filter on this topic so kRusty can't come barging in with his big-foam agenda and try to get us to all buy his crazy pillows)

following. I've pissed away more money on pillows that I care to admit. They all suck for us side sleepers

The firmer the better that's what I always say
-
I like down pillows
-
I cannot sleep without three (3) pillows.

Scene: sd is completely snoozed out like a little lamb. Over him is a pottery barn white duvet with three grey stripes around the edges. Over and below him are Brooklinen Percale sheets (white). He’s on his left side head on a temper pedi side sleep pillow, between his arms is a snuggly little reg sized pillow, between his knees is another reg pillow (all pillows brooklinen percale white cases). Underneath his base sheet is a ooler chili pad set at 66 degrees. It’s the horniest thing you could ever visualize.

My pillow addiction was getting it of control (4 pillows - 2 up top, 1 leg, 1 arms), which started after I hurt my arm and needed to keep it elevated. I've cut down to two, don't know that I can ever do just one.
-
I'm moving away from my temper pedi side... We'll see what happens.

I cannot recommend it enough if you sleep hot. life changer.

I use a pillow between my knees too. usually a crappier one
-
One pillow. That's as specific as I can be. There were two pillows up until a couple months ago. I don't know why there are no longer two. I'm glad I have at least one because I don't think I would like zero pillows.

Only serial killers zero pillow it.

I also put a pillow behind my knees when I lay on my back. It's good for your spine!

I turn my firm ass pillow sideways so I sleep on the edge

Two. Arms wrapped around one.

One pillow, for my head to lay on.

Three pillows for me as well. Primary under my head, and one on either side for legs and/or arm so that I don't have to drag a pillow with me when I roll over.

i can't sleep with those goddamned super thick hotel pillows. have to bring a slimline of my own.

I have the same pillow as I had growing up. It is seriously disgusting. The outer fabric has disintegrated so i have two pillow sheets keeping it together. No idea how Ms. WW puts up with it. She calls it my "pancake"

zero consistency here. my bed sometimes, couch sometimes, sometimes I wake up with 3 kids in the bed, sometimes I sleep in the guest room. 1 pillow or a kids foot in my face.

I've never thrown out a pillow. When I upgrade I throw the old one in an old pillow case and find a bed for it.

i replace my pillows every 6 months or so
only use one to sleep on, a rock hard tempur pedic and sleep on my back
i’ve always thought that the idea behind pillows was very odd but there must be a medicinal value to them and that’s why they’ve grown to be so accepted
-
My pillow is VERY thin. If the bed is made and the blanket is pulled all the way up it would be easy to think that there was no pillow there. That's how thin.

Big facts
I cannot sleep without three (3) pillows.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was the same way until right around the start of the pandemic. I was a 3 pillowed side sleeper. I used two medium firm pillows and one flat, soft one that I could fold more than once. I went to two very firm pillows and that seems to be what I need. The only problem is that two very firm pillows lose their firmness quickly, 6 months in and I already need new pillows.

The my pillow marketing almost got me. I don't care how much of the pillow money I spend goes to trump propaganda or crack rocks if it's a good pillow, but I went to Wal-Mart and unboxed one and that quickly became a hard no, that crap felt like a firm bean bag.

It takes like 3 years to break in a pillow to my satisfaction
-
pillows everywhere. All unsatisfactory. I need a life coach or something.

buncha dolts ITT talking about pillows when really your attention needs to be focused on mattress technology. like a slot for side sleepers to put your arm. this is just one of, i dunno...over a thousand examples i could roll out for improvements in mattresses??
but hey keep focusing on treating the symptoms rather than fixing the problem. wake up sheeple.

I like having my wife's memory foam pillows under my arms as a back sleeper. She likes to use them at night so it really only happens when there is a nap opportunity (napportunity).

i usually fall asleep and wake up in the exact same spot and position. it's because i know how to sleep and also wake up.

the chilipad comes with the ooler. the ooler is the box (the one you want because it has an app and can schedule and change temp from phone). the old chilibox or whatever it's called is just a box with a manual knob and I would hate that. also the ooler is smaller and will fit under your bed so you don't even see it.
-
if you need a new mattress too I'd probably try this thing out. looks incred. but we have a pretty new mattress and nowhere to put it so went with the ooler.

what your mom did is illegal today because it's animal cruelty. I think they get the down from all over, it necessarily need to come from neck and breast
The premium down is in the neck and breast area and any other area would cause the goose to bleed because feathers are to large. The larger feathers are stiff and cheap feather pillows have them, but they are removed from dead animals. The commercial feather pillow makers cut the feathers off the stem and chop them. They don't come close to the quality of a down pillow.

I could see that, even thou it didn't hurt the goose physically as it grew back and it did not bleed. I would image that the irritation of plucking the down from the goose is similar to plucking hair from your chest. This has been a tradition for hundreds of years.
